Anyone interested in sharing some personal stories in this thread today?
TL;DR: What is the most-fucked-up/ghetto/dangerous/violent/crime-ridden city in in the United States? Also, ghetto-city stories?
If I had to come up with a quick list of the most-dangerous cities in America, it'd be something like this:
1.) Detroit, Pontiac, Saginaw, & Flint, Mi
2.) Gary, & East Chicago, In
3.) Camden, Patterson, Newark, Trenton, & East Orange, NJ
4.) Chicago, Rockford, & East St. Louis, Il
5.) Memphis, & Nashville, Tn
6.) Oakland, Stockton, Fresno, & Richmond, Ca
7.) St. Louis, & Kansas City, Mo
8.) New Orleans, La
9.) Cleveland, Cincinnati, & Youngstown, Oh
10.) Baltimore, Md
11.) Washington D.C.
12.) Philadelphia, & Chester, Pa
13.) Birmingham, Mobile, & Prichard, Al
14.) Jackson, Ms
15.) Little Rock, Pine Bluff, & West Memphis, Ar
16.) Atlanta, Ga
17.) Houston, & Dallas, Tx
18.) Wilmington, De
19.) Oklahoma City, & Tulsa Ok
20.) Albuquerque, NM
There are surely other places deserving of being mentioned, so feel free to mention any place you think should also be included. Obviously, LA and NYC have lots of crime, but the places I listed seem to have particularly violent cultures and a higher per capita-crime rate.
So, what do some of you on here say is the most-crime-ridden/dangerous city in the U.S.? Is it where you live now or are originally from? I live in Arizona, on the outskirts of Phoenix, and there's certainly crime here, but I've tried to keep my ass out of trouble for many years now, so I don't have many good stories to share.
However, I'd like to hear about the place(s) y'all think are the worst of the worst.

After doing this thread last night, some guy posted a bunch of stories about Albuquerque, New Mexico, so it's on the list again. Anyone here from/lived in ABQ? Apparently, it's got some really violent, dangerous bad parts, so I'd be curious to hear some more personal stories about the city. Here's one of the ABQ posts form the thread last night/this morning:
- I live and work in Albuquerque as a bouncer and a security guard in the south valley.
>walking home from work, double shift
>see two kids get chased into a ditch by mexican
>duck the fuck out, call the cops
>APD wont come into this part of town, they tell me to call county
>working security for the avengers movie
>theyre shooting in the abandoned railyards
>tell us to clear out the bums
>go upstairs, hear a ruckus
>kick open door, three mexicans raping a man
>nope the fuck out, get chased down stairs
>pepper spray two mexicans
>cops show up 45 mins later
>working security at bar by laguna pueblo
>two indians pull up in a 90s ford taurus
>immediately start shooting at me and hooting
>I take a .45 to the shoulder
>cry, piss in my pants
>return fire wildly with 9mm, empty two magazines
>they tear ass out of the parking lot
>nobody in the bar even gives a fuck
>cops show up 20 mins later, no ambulance
>drive self 30 mins to hospital downtown
lots of shit stories
>working security for breaking bad
>they pick the shittiest neighborhood twisters for fake chicken restaurant
>sitting on top of a half million dollars of copper caples
>mexicans obviously casing the joint, drive by repeatedly for two hours from 2-4am
>load shotgun, sit on truck hood holding it
>mexicans watch me from parking lot across the street
>cops take 45 mins to show
i fucking hate albuquerque
PHX-fag here too. I encounter the random crazy hobo or drunk guy that gets your adrenaline going; but no gamg stuff.
Our gamgs must be more mexican. I see the occasional ms13 tag but that's probably just from edgy kids
Didn't know ABQ could belong on a list like this though
> St. Louis and KC on same position
Idk if this is because you might think that they are close by, but they are on different sides of the state. They have no where near similar levels of crime. St. Louis usually makes top 10 of murders and violent crime while I've never seen KC make the list.
People have posted in previous threads and mentioned Buffalo. IS that where you live now? If so, what's it like there currently? And got any stories?
Also, are you familiar with Troy Or Newburgh? They've also been mentioned being fucked-up places. Maybe Ithica, too?
I'm surprised to read your comments. By almost all accounts, Gary is straight ghetto and violent/dangerous as a mothefucker.. Most people state that it's deserving of being up there with any fucked-up city in the country.
I'll post a pic of a screenshot of a story that a guy posted in a thread a few weeks back, about how he was driving to Chicago and drove through Gary and got ambushed by multiple cars and had a shotgun pointed at him. It's a good story. And, apparently, this type of shit is not uncommon in Gary. The same type of shit seems to be commonplace in Camden and Flint. Many people say that the cops in Gary, Flint, Camden, Detroit, and East St. Louis will tell out-of-towners/white people to not stop at stop signs or red lights and to get back on the freeway as soon as possible.
> Pic related: The screenshot of the story about the guy who drive through Gary on his way to Chicago.
where in IN? I've only driven thru Gary and apparently you don't stop at Stop signs because it's that bad.
should be top 5 on this list, it's where I'm from and i know it has the highest murder rate per capita in the state and it's just a total fuckin shithole. there's a documentary about how the FBI entrapped 5 hoodlums from Newburgh on acts terrorism, they just went in the hood and offered these guys 250k then arrested them as they were planting bombs in NYC
Hey there, fellow Arizonan! What part of the valley are you from/in now? I grew up in Chandler, but am currently living in south Scottsdale (not the nice part, which I didn't even know Scottsdale had - near 68th St. and Thomas). I was recently in some of the rougher areas in Phoenix and it was pretty unnerving seeing the people in the ghetto complexes and on the streets there (near 39th Ave. and Camelback, 32nd St. and Thomas, and 27th Ave. and Indian School - all of which were pretty ghetto areas).
As for Albuquerque, I knew it had some crime and ghettos, but I wasn't aware that it was so fucked-up and scary there. However, in the thread last night/this morning, more than one person mentioned it. And the guy whose stories I posted also shared some other stories. I'll copy/paste and post them after this.
It's been brought to my attention many times that St. Louis and Kansas City are not close to each other, and the same thing in regards to Houston and Dallas. I originally compiled the list while anxiously trying to put it together and start a thread, before I lost patience and put off doing it. I have the text saved to a Notepad file and I've since edited it many times, but I don't have the patience to do a really detailed/thorough list according to their geographical locations. If you feel like doing something with the list in my OP and posting your edited version, please feel free to do so.
Do you still live in/near Newburgh? Or have you been there recently? If so, what's it like there now? You really think it's deserving of being in the top 5 in the country?? It's seriously that fucked-up and violent there?
You say that you've driven through Gary, In, what did you think of the city? Ad bad as or rose than Newburgh? Are they similar places?
Also, since you're from the East Coast, have you been to Camden? By almost all accounts, Camden is absolutely fucking terrible and is apparently as ghetto, gangster, and violent as any city in the country. Most people who are familiar with Camden seem to think it's the worst city on the East Coast.
Just curious, have you been to Philadelphia? Or Camden? If so, is Chester as bad as either of those cities? And which one is the worst city in your opinion?
>Going to see concert in shitty ass neighborhood
>Venue in dimly lit alley
>When we entered the town my dumbass friends were screaming ninja, nighttime, anything that sounded like nigger
>lone nigger attempts to chase car, screaming
>arrive at venue
>look out of second story window inbetween bands
>Lone nigger is now mugging head scene kid who left to smoke
Here's another post from the guy from ABQ this morning (not my story):
>driving out towards isleta pueblo in my bronco
>looking forward to a good day of offroading and drinking
>old ford truck stops in the middle of the road in front of me
>two mexicans get out and point guns at me
>yelling spanish gibberish
>floor it, drive off the road into the bosque
>fucking brown people shoot my back window out
>playing poker at route 66 casino
>taking hands from drunk indians all night >cash out at a little over three grand
>three asshole mudskins following me from cashier to exit
>they refuse escort to my car
>run from exit to truck
>am fat, smoke, get caught
>get a few good hits in but recieve ass-beating of a lifetime
>retards only took 300$ from my wallet, not 3000 in boot
>driving patrol in internat. district, run over some construction bullshit
>blow out a tire
>mexicans gather, one tries to grab keys from me
>shove beaner onto the ground, kick violently
>get back in the car, drive six blocks on the rim
>not today mudskins
>land of enchantment
And a couple more posts from the guy from ABQ (again, not my stories):
Okay yeah i have more stories
Actors are all generally pretty cool. I was up at val kilmers house in santa fe for a party and hes weird but cool. Bryan cranston would bring us breakfast burritos in the AM. Harrison ford and daniel craig were cool, met them doing cowboys and aliens.
Tommy lee jones is a drama queen pos.and the cap america guy is an asshole.
I lived in Milwaukee for a bit and it was alright, a little worse than abq.
Phoenix is a suburb piece of cake. Its nice there.
People get kidnapped out of town and there's a pretty serious problem with human traffickers. Also if you dont lock your shit up tight your truck will be stolen. Will be.
At about 3am the other night some asshole started banging on my door yelling about needing change for the bus. Ofc my wife is like "go do something about it"
I opened the door and this asshole tried to stab me with a little insulin needle. I had the baby monitor in my hand and i hit him in the face with it six or seven times before it broke apart. I didnt even make the conscious thought to do it, just happened. Took APD almost 45 minutes to show up.
To try to start things off, here's a re-write I did of a story someone posted in a previous thread about getting beaten up in Camden, NJ.
Basically, the story went something like this:
> Mexican kid/guy, about 18, 6'2'' and 200 lbs, fairly muscular, goes to stay with grandmother in Camden
> been there for a few days, decides to walk to the store for grandmother, by himself
> apparently, a very bad idea
> walks inside store, big, older white guy clerk immediately says that he should not be there, that it's not safe for him
> Mexican kid/guy walks out of the store after making purchase and is encountered by 3 large, black males walking down the sidewalk
> one of the black guys says that one of them dropped their bag of dope and that they saw him pick it up and take it
> Mexican kid/guy says he is legitimately frightened, as the 3 black males are huge and don't appear to be fucking around
> Mexican kid/guy nervously says that he did not take their drugs and that he did not want any trouble
> the 3 black males decide that he deserves to get violently beaten up, so they immediately start to do so
> Mexican kid/guy says that the 3 black males all start punching him violently and he falls to the ground and is getting pummeled
> while on the ground, one of the black males starts grabbing his fingers and literally starts breaking them, he ends up with 3 fingers broken
> while this beating is happening, a cop car pulls up and blares his siren, the 3 black males start walking away, Mexican kid/guy feels like crying, because he is so happy
> cop pulls away without even getting out of his car
> apparently, in Camden, someone getting jumped by 3 guys was not important enough for the cop to get out of his car and check on the victim
> after that experience, the Mexican kid/guy stated that he did not go out in Camden again before moving back home
> Pic related: A rooftop view in Camden, New Jersey
I live close to Troy, but haven't been there very much. I hear it's pretty shitty.
I live in Schenectady, which is also pretty awful. I've had friends get car jacked while driving home from parties and shit.
Grew up near north PHX. It's alright. Chandlers cool and north and south scottsdale are nice.
But yeah, I was definitely more middle and east side. West side just feels depressing for some reason
The guy who originally posted the story that I posted here >>573954969 told it in a better fashion than I just did; but, I'm sure you get the gist of what happened.
As for Camden being a really shitty place, in the same thread that the guy shared the story about getting jumped, another person also posted, a white kid (around 16-17, iIrc), and told a story about having gotten lost after driving his parents car home from a concert and ending up in Camden. I don't recall the specifics, but I think he was at a stop sign/stoplight and just got ambushed by someone on the street who smashed through his side window and dragged him out of the car. Ultimately, he said that he ended up getting curbed-stomped and almost died, literally. He said that the only thing that saved his life was some foreign shop-owner running outside with a shotgun and screaming at the people trying to beat him to death. And this happened because he was a white kid driving a nice car through their neighborhood.
I hadn't realized it, but based on lots of posts in previous threads, New Jersey apparently has several absolutely terrible cities in it. Besides Camden, people have claimed that Patterson, East Orange, Trenton, Newark, and Jersey City are all ghetto cities with rampant crime and truly dangerous areas. Overall, though, it seems as though almost everyone agrees that Camden is the worst city in NJ; and, likely, the most-dangerous/fucked-up city on the East Coast. People have compared Camden to a little Detroit. And many people have stated the same thing about Flint, Gary, and East St. Louis.
So, anyone looking to post some stories tonight??
I wouldn't be able to weigh in on Gary. I go to school in Indiana but I'm always going back to Newburgh, still a really fucked up place. Shootings everyday, crackheads saying it's their birthdays and asking for money, literally 95% is rundown beyond belief.
And i haven't been to Camden, I was just in Newark though and it wasn't nearly as bad as Newburgh. But I wouldn't argue that Camden NJ is a shithole
I live in Buffalo, it's not that bad. I mean sure we have our shit neighborhoods, but what city doesn't? at least the shit stays in the shit neighborhoods for the most part, there's plenty more nice places.
Lived in camden and philly. There are incredibly large number of blacks who for generations have never worked or held any sort of job. They all live for free, free housing, free schooling, free cable, free phones, free food, free healthcare, free transportation, free air jordans, free weaves, etc... In thier spare time the men try to kill each other and the women try to produce as many kids as they can as that equals greater shares of free everything. It is insane and so crazy to the rest society but its real.
Yeah, it didn't look very pretty but I didn't feel particularly unsafe.
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I go through shit neighborhoods in shitty cities pretty often and never gotten harassed. I'm pasty white and don't look particularly intimidating.
Detroit fag - it's not as bad as people say (no, not a suburb fag who only goes to detroit for sports games), but at the same time, easily the most ghetto area in the US. But, Flint is worse. In detroit, I have no problem walking to a gas station or some shit, as long as i restrict myself to certain areas. but in flint you dont stop for red lights. You don't stop for anything.
And to OP - Saginaw and Pontiac are perfectly fine places with normal to slightly above average crime and ghetto-ness.
Also, Baltimore should be 3, after Camden
Seeing that you've lived in both places, you would be a good person to again ask this question to: Is Camden really significantly worse than Philadelphia?
I know that Philly has some really rough ghettos, but basically everyone who is familiar with both cities states that Camden is just on a different level of ghetto culture and violence.
Btw, I'm assuming you read the Camden stories I posted here >>573954969 and here >>573955203
Also, got any personal Camden stories? And have you been to any other gangster/ghetto places?
As a person who's lived in east and south chicago I must say the south deserves number 2. While the east still has gang violence one memory will always stick with me. When I lived in the southside and went to school the busses usually had deflated tires due to all the random potholes and shit in the street so we usually had to walk. One day I was a block or 2 away from school when I heard screaming and it was coming from an alley infront of me. I walked passed it and saw 4 niggers beating another nigger and stomping on him. One nigger turned to me and said, "keep walkin cracka". Shit was fucking scary yo. There was police cars in that same area after school. Usually all the east side has is gangs, graffiti, and mexicans who arn't as violent as niggers.
I originally only had Detroit and Flint on the list, but after starting several of these threads, several people have posted and claimed that Pontiac and Saginaw are deserving of being on the list and some people even claimed that Pontiac and Saginaw are worse than Detroit and Flint. Not joking.
As for Flint being worse, well, many people have actually stated this. Flint has been described as being like a smaller version of Detroit's bad parts, with no nice parts to it. Would you say this is accurate? And how is it possible for any place in the U.S. to be worse/more dangerous than the bad parts of Detroit?
Out of curiosity, have you been to Gary, In? Or East St. Louis, Il? Or any of the other really hardcore-ghetto cities in the Midwest?
Btw, are you an Eminem fan? And is he beloved there by most/many people in the D'?
Hey I been following these threads for a bit. Do you have somewhere you're compiling all this? Maybe google docs would work well or something. I missed many threads and would like to read all of it.
Btw, I see that you mentioned Camden and Baltimore, so I'm assuming you've been to both of those cities, as well as Detroit and Flint. Do you think the ruggeness/toughness/crime/violence is significantly worse in one of these particular cities? Or, as I suspect, are they all similar in their ghettos?
And as I also suspect, are Camden and Flint similar to each other in regards to poverty, crime and violence?
Why just post this? Are you from Camden? Do you live there now? Got any Camden stories to share?
You say that the south side of Chicago deserves to be number 2, with what city being number 1? Detroit?
And have you been to Detroit? Or Gary? What about East Chicago, Indiana? Or East St. Louis, Illinois? If so, how do they compare to one another?
Are you from Omaha? Do you live there now? If so, got any stories to share? And are you a fan of Terence Crawford?
I did this backyard wrestling shit one time
>mad cunt as fuck
>grew up in rural ireland no time for tv and shit
>townie friend tells me of the WWE
>baseball bats,chairs,spiked bats
>no baseball bats so instead we bought a few hurleys and sliotars
>drove like 50 nails thru 2 bats
>we used cheap chairs that we "took"from an abandoned warehouse near my place
newburgh is pretty shity but isn't too bad. used to drive though there to get to ex's house. Broadway sucks and when robinson avenue was one lane it made things worse
you guys have a bangin popeyes though
Unfortunately, I don't have any sort of organized compilation of previous threads; but I did recently learn how easy it is to archive a thread from here on the 4archive site, so I've been trying to do that for each thread that I start. And I have a few links to previous threads that were archived; if you want me to post a couple now, let me know.
Also, how exactly does Google Docs work? Is it easy to sue? Just by using your GMail account login info., I assume?
Btw, where are you from/do you live now? Got any stories to share?
Well detroit is like a fallout town. Theres abandoned buildings, smashed windows, boarded up houses but its still livable. Theres trash everywhere and it looks like its been abandoned and the only people who live in it are rat people but in the center theres actual human life. Very big gang violence my friend who used to live there said they attempted to recruit him about every day to one of their gangs.
East chicago theres violence with gangs but not like south side. As I said just mexicans and gangs.
I live about 45 minutes away from chicago in IL and it's pretty fine here. No gang violence or anything. IL is fine if you arn't in chicago
East ST. Louis is almost exactly like the southside of chicago.
The worst out of all these places i've heard or been too is detroit.
Im from Oakland right out the 50's. Most people I knew didnt leave the 50 block because it's not 'their hood." Totally stupid but that how it is.
>One day coming home from work nig in street slows me down.
>gun pointed at me.
>I know him and im not scared.
>Roll window down.
>He lowers weapon
>I ask him why I cant go home.
>He said I had to wait.
>I dont know he replys
> "Bang Bang" in back alley
>Looks behind at his friend
>Then he says to me "We's Finished'
>Hops in car and tells me to drive us home.
>Dont really want to say no since he hasnt holistered his weapon by sticking it in his pants.
>He live down the street from me.
>I park near his corner.
>He asks me if i was scared
>I said no why?
>He replied Im a nigga and your white if we get pulled over Im fucked.
>I said back tru your a nigga and im white "you" would be fucked .
>He stairs at me intensely
>I shit brick but stay cool faced
>He begins to laugh his ass off
>He sells me purple weed
>I drive home and continue to live my life
when i said bats i meant hurleys
>right here we go
>so we have our hurleys and sliotars
>our copper pipe and stones and more improvised weaponry
>got like 7 friends to come out to my place after school this one time
>got some tarp and tyres from this fucking pile of shit my dad had
>that made our ring
>select your weapon cunts
>chose copper pipe friend chose hurley and sliotar (ball)
>that cunts gonna drive that sliotaar thru my chest
>tackled him with wild celtic battle maneuvers
Here's a story from last night's thread about Cincinnati (Not mine):
>live near cinci
>go to UC
>at party with a bunch of people
>meet some sloots, they are leaving and invite me to another party "more fun" they said
>hop in random girls car
>end up going to over the rhine at 1am
>too drunk to notice
>get out of car, walk up to house
>literally 95% nigs, ages 10-60
>creeped tf out
>just chill around girls as they talk to people. wtf. why the fuck are we here?
>literally see people smoking what I assume crack out of pipes, dude with a white du-rag staring me down. asks if i have any money because 'hes short'
>'lol no man im broke'
>i say with my boat shoes, new khaki pants and a nice polo shirt
>"nigga get out ur fuckin wallit"
>lifts up shirt showing that hes strapped
>okay. not getting shot over 20$
>give nig money
>retarded chicks are too fucked up to understand
>leave out front door. grab bottle of booze on my way out and walk down the street
>try to find i-72 in a drunken haze with a dead phone at 4 am
>walking down a street, cop pulls up, lights
>"what the fuck are you doing out here"
>drives me back home, tells me to never come here again
whats with white chicks and trashy nigger ghetto infested parties?
And here's a story that was posted a while back about an experience in Cleveland.
>>go to see a concert in cleveland

>>we still haven't talked about it to this day tbh
>>no idea what happened to him but i'll assume he wasn't wearing his life alert so probably kill
>Pic related: A picture that showed up after searching Google Images for "Cleveland Ohio Ghetto"
So think of detroit like a half circle. The outer ring of detroit is shit. Rundown, crime ridden, ghetto as fuck. The inner parts of the circle are mostly "good", and actually livable. In flint you don't have an area that's vibrant, or decent, or anything. There's an area with a couple universities, and that area is fine, i guess. But other than that its a shithole
The whole Eminem thing is weird. Everybody loves early eminem, but his later stuff doesn't really feel true to his roots. But in detroit, he's near untouchable. He is almost a deity
>dropkicked that kike
>smacked by hurley across the back by other friend
>dropkicked friend on the ground whacked me in the cock with pipe
>punched that lite cunt
>other friend helps him tackle me to the ground
>dad had these massive LED's lying around the garage cause he was building a new shed
>friend grabbed one and fucked it off my belly
In reply to above. Living in camden was better but only because i was close to rutgers. That area is safe and you can literally be out of there and in one of the best towns in the US (moorestown) in 20 mins. Basically went there to sleep while police force patrolled 24/7.
Philly is a different beast. Even in the nicest area blacks are a threat. Camden is fueled by drug gangs and seem to avoid heavy patrolled areas. Philly is a mess all over and getting out and into a safe area is difficult. The violence is fueled by blacks being black and doesnt relate to gangs as much. Your are more likely to get assaulted by a group of blacks anywhere in philly where there are groups of blacks (everywhere). It is risky walking near any blacks 2 or greater. Sounds racist but i know way too many that have been punched randomly, attacked, jumped, etc. Doesnt matter if you are a mother carrying an infant, a guy walking to work or an elderly person at a bus stop. Sucks but so much of it is swept under the rug the news never reports and police probably just toss the reports as well.
There were some posts about Oakland in last night's thread. It seems to be well-known that the ghettos there are horrible, but people have also stated that it's gotten better overall in recent times. Would you agree with that?
Also, it seems as though Stockton and Richmond are becoming known as being really dangerous cities. One or the other, or both cities, seem to get mentioned in every thread. People have also mentioned San Francisco, Fresno, San Jose, and Antioch (not sure where that is or if I spelled it correctly). Are you familiar with any of these cities? If so, how do they compare to Oakland?
Also, anybody here from/familiar with the ghettos in Los Angeles? Compton? Watts? San Diego? Bakersfield?
>friend:oh shit fucking sorry
>other friend knocked him out with sliotar
everyone who fucking fought lost a shit tonne of blood and I wound up being knocked out in the end
we did this shit for 2 more years
I know its shit but still,I used to fucking love it
Now it's integrated more with google drive. just go to drivedotgoogledotcom and login with your google account. Create a document and to share it you hit the share button in the upper right hand corner, give the file a name, and then hit advanced and set it to anyone with a link can view. It's pretty much ms word with less features and web based.
Unfortunately I don't have any stories. I grew up and live in Connecticut. It just very interesting to read this kind of thing. Having grown up here I never really experienced any of it. I mean I knew some places are bad but I didn't realize THIS bad.
I actually had those 3 particular Connecticut cities on the list before posting this thread today, but I needed to make room to be able to include Albuquerque on the list (after reading some fucked-up stories about the city in the thread from last night/this morning), and I had the Connecticut cities listed around 19-20, I decided to remove them form the list. Do you think the ghettos there in those Ct. cities are hardcore/violent enough to deserve to be on the list? And have you been to any rough cities in other states? If so, where?
I've probably started over a dozen of these threads over the last 2-3 months and I think you are literally the first person to claim that it's more dangerous/violent in Philadelphia than it is in Camden.
As for the two cities, what's the relationship like between the people from each area? Do the criminals/thugs from Camden get along with the criminals/thugs from Philly? Are they rivals?
I live only 30 minutes from East St. Louis, and I would not rank it so highly. Chicago, yes Chicago is fucking bad, but after reading some stories here, East St. Louis isn't even close to as bad. It is mainly populated by blacks, but it isn't bad to drive through because you don't have to drive through it. Not as much violence happens there because everybody takes the interstate over the river into St. Louis for everything they really need. Violence occurs, but not so much random jumping of anybody walking down the street. It seems to be more black on black violence.
I actually only included Nashville recently, after some people claimed that it's gotten really bad in the ghettos there in recent times. There was a guy posting in a recent thread, who seemed to be very familiar with the Nashville area, and he stated that the rough parts in Nashville are literally getting bad enough to rival the ghettos in Memphis. Not joking. So, after that, I added it to the list.
Are you from Nashville? If not, where are you from/do you live now? And what's it like there?
Very interesting. I live in a small town so not much happens. The most I ever really do is drive through on main roads/highways. Go through New Haven (route 34 to I95) and through Waterbury on I84. My mom grew up in CT. She lived in Hartford in a good part of town. I just asked her and she said she doesn't have any stories either.
I take it that you are from Youngstown? I originally included it because I have a cousin who traveled around the country selling satellite TV services and he told me that Youngstown was one of the most-ghetto/unnerving places he had been in. And after adding it to the list, several people have commented that it is really ghetto/dangerous in Youngstown. I'm also under the impression that there is a mob presence there. Do you know anything about this?
As for Youngstown, someone posted recently about several cities in Ohio and claimed that Youngstown, hands down, is the most-gangster city in Ohio. Even worse than the bad parts of east Cleveland and the ghettos in Cincinnati. People have also mentioned that Akron, Dayton and Columbus are also pretty fucking bad areas, to.
As for East St. Louis, are you sure we're talking about the same city? You state that you would not rank ESL so highly? I think you're the first person who hasn't claimed that it should be higher on the list. People have posted and said that East St. Louis looks like a war zone (similar to how people have described Camden, NJ) and that, if you are white, it's simply not safe for you to go there at night. People say that it makes the bad parts of St. Louis, Mo, seem like a nice area. And I know that St. Louis' ghettos are no fucking joke.
As for Chicago, I have no doubt that it's extremely violent and scary there, but I think it'd be hard to dispute that East St. Louis is not one of the most-dangerous/violent cities in the country.
I'm from East Tennessee, not Nashville, but I've been there plenty and it is largely completely safe, save for the Antioch neighborhood and Murfreesboro Rd. These aren't great, but any major city has shitty sections. It is certainly nowhere near as bad as Memphis. Memphis sucks because it's a total crapshoot as to which block is safe or not, since they tried "revitalizing" the inner part with varying amounts of success.
Rockford, Illinois, right? I am not familiar with the city at all, but it's either Rockford or Rockport (I'm not even sure if there are cities with both names in Illinois, I'm just trying to go on memory here) that has been mentioned multiple times in previous threads and some people have claimed that Rockford is actually more ghetto/dangerous than Chicago. What do you think about that?
Have you been to any of the other hardcore ghetto cities in the Midwest? Chicago? Detroit? Flint? East St. Louis? East Chicago? Milwaukee? Pontiac? Saginaw? If so, what's the worst city in your opinion?
Canadian here. Never realised crime was that bad State side. I have spent lots of time in all tue major Canadian cities and the worst thing that ever happened to me was in downtown Vancouver.
>crazy native guy approaches me
>smells like piss
>asks if I have any crack
>I say sorry I don't have any
>he apologizes for taking my time and wishes me a merry christmas
Haha, East Orange and Newark are my hoods, lived in E.O. till I was 5 (24 now, grandma still lives there) and have some friends in Newark. Both hoods are hood as all fuck, but East Orange is a bit more hostile in my opinion (only because there are probably more white people in Newark). Visited there recently, ain't a damn thing changed.
So, there is an Antioch in Tennessee? is it an actual city or just a neighborhood? The reason I ask this is because I thought for sure that I had seen an Antioch, Tn, mentioned in a previous thread, but, then, in subsequent threads, people mentioned an Antioch in California, so I thought that maybe I had misread the post.
Have you actually been to both Nashville and Memphis? If so, you are saying that even the worst parts of Nashville can not fuck with the ghettos in Memphis? I will admit that people familiar with Memphis seem to feel that it's as fucked-up and violent and scary as anywhere in the U.S. So, it probably is worse than the ghettos in Nashville.
I think people have also mentioned that Memphis got worse after Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans, as it sent thousands of ghetto folks from NOLA to the Memphis area and it just added to the crime and violence there.
It seems that there are several really bad, ghetto cities in New Jersey. Camden, Paterson, Trenton, Newark, Jersey City, East Orange. However, by pretty much all accounts, Camden is, hands down, the worst of the worst. Have you been to Camden? If so, is it noticeably worse than East Orange and Newark? And have you been to any other ghetto cities in other states? If so, how do they compare to the places in New Jersey?
Also, got any girls from New Jersey you could post? Or any cool pics of the place at all?
I grew up in north charleston sc.
Was once in the top 5 worst cities.
I have a lot of story's will post if wanted.
Me and my friends walking down the road only white kid in the neighborhood.
I had black parents because I was adopted.
Their was a shooting happens a lot.
It happened on 36th I think I dunno.
Group of 5 not including me.
We all were attached to the hip.
Cops come flying down the road and think it's us.
2 of them are drug dealers and have a lot of pcp and crack on them.
Also I was 17 at the time.
They had pistols and started shooting.
The cop got out and as soon as he got out bam the sight was awful. The hole in his head the way he fell just helpless.
You may think your hardass fuck and can kill someone but when it's a cop prolly 22 years old and he is just doing his job and watching him die and the life just leave is sad. I remember it like yesterday.
The passenger cop hopped and ran for cover he had a shotgun.
Also this is 1993.
He starts blind firing my bestfriend was caught in the fire and watching him quiver from the blood coming out of his neck was awful. I started running. The cop shot at me and thankfully it was a buckshot round or I would have been dead.
Soon I meet my friends at our spot.
It was in a sewer where the old main pump was. It was shut down because it was old. We had chairs and it was a nice place. 2 out of 6.
Phones about to die. Be right back
100% can confirm for Camden.
>travel all around general 1 hour radius for work
>going to one store
>using iphone gps
>thing dies in like 30 minutes
>no idea where I am
>next thing I know I'm entering fucking Camden
>as I'm entering, cop flicks on lights
>tells me I didn't use my blinker
>like I use my fucking blinkers
>points me in right direction to store I'm looking for
>probably saves my life in the process
I will say in regard to Newark and East Orange, while it is bad, you have to be fucking retard to find trouble there. I mean if you live there it may eventually find you, but if you just work there unless you are asking for it you should get in and out fine every day.
Antioch is a neighborhood in Nashville. Memphis did get a little worse after Katrina, but I didn't think it got that much worse. The thing with Memphis is that yes, there is an awful gang culture, more of a black gang culture as opposed to Nashville's and other TN cities' Latino gang culture. I would say that Memphis attracts more ghetto-type people since it is such a major hub of drug running (not to say Nashville isn't, but it's not on the same scale.) Memphis also has the problem where you can be in a perfectly safe neighborhood, walk about 2 blocks the wrong way, and get jumped for being in the wrong place in the middle of the day. It is like that all throughout the downtown and surrounding areas of Memphis, so it is way more dangerous than Nashville, especially if you don't know your way around the city.
Now that I think about it, not many people have mentioned Memphis in recent threads. Anyone from/familiar with the Memphis area on here tonight? Got any Memphis stories to share?
What about New Orleans? Or anywhere in Mississippi? Or Alabama?
> Pic related: A pic that came up after searching Google Images for "Memphis Ghetto."
Oh yeah, I live right outside of Philly in a quaint little town called Upper Darby. On the way to come chill, one of my friends saw a guy stabbed and laying in a puddle of his own blood on a porch.
Chicago really isn't dangerous. The city is extremely segregated and as long as you stay out of niggerville and beanertown then there isn't much to worry about. The only reason there are so many murders in Chicago is because it's just a shit ton of niggers killing niggers.
Been living in Montreal, Canada for 9 years.
I've been to some pretty shady places and the worst thing to ever happen to me was on my way out of an underground concert.
I was approached by this very very drunk guy who wanted to tell me a dirty joke, I listened, and it was actually pretty good.
Then as he leaves these two other drunk guys come stumbling over, yell something about having a funnier joke. The previous drunk guy pays no attention and is stumbling back to the concert basement.
The two guys immediately straighten up and look at me with serious faces "The funny thing is I have a gun and you're getting robbed." He has his hand inside his jacket to the left. His buddy is just standing to his left staring me down.
Now if this was the US, I would be shitting bricks right about then. But I've known a few people who have gotten mugged like this, and in none of the cases did the mugger actually have a gun.
I just look at him, look where he has his hand, and then just stare at his face. Just as I'm about to think of something to say/maybe punch him. He laughs and drops his hands out. No gun, was never getting robbed.
Long story short, he and his buddy are actually pretty cool. I go to concerts with them a lot now.
Thanks for sharing some of your story. I have to say, if what you described about the cops/shooting is true, that is truly awful and I'm sorry to hear that that happened.
As for South Carolina, I've actually had Charleston on the list in the OP before, but I keep editing/adding to it and I forgot to put it back on the list for the list that I have saved to a Notepad file.
Apparently, there was a recent documentary made about South Carolina, called 'Bangin' In Charleston' (or something similar), from what someone mentioned in a previous thread. They also said that Charleston is absolutely fucked-p and riddled with drugs, crime and violence these days. The guy who mentioned the documentary stated that Charleston should be right neat/at the top of the list.
As for other southern cities, in a thread I started earlier this week, someone mentioned Prichard, Alabama, and said that it's probably the most-dangerous city in the U.S. right now. He mentioned that there's also a documentary about this Prichard, but that the people filming could/would not go in to the bad parts of the city, so the documentary could not even show how ghetto/dangerous it really is. He also mentioned that there was some fenced-off area and that there people there would swim across some river to get to people at some fast food restaurant and then kill them for their food orders. Not exaggerating. He may have been making shit up; but he did not allude to it, if he was lying about the shit he posted.
Here is one i had in newark (samefag)
>Be me on RT.21 aka McCarter Highway
>Kid ask me around Raymond blvd If i want diesel or a gps
>"How much or the gps?"
>Diesel is dope btw (I thought it was sour d he was talking about at first.)
>"20 fo da gps snowflake"
>I take it
>The dude he stole it from directions to Bloomfield is still on and directing
Are you saying that just driving through Camden for a few minutes convinced you that it is as fucked-up and scary as people say it is? Or have you been there other times since then?
Here's a better question for you: How do you post and mention Las Vegas and then not share any stories about why you think it should be included on the list of fucked-up/violent cities?
I do know that they have a skid row there with lots of homeless people, and, supposedly, some underground culture who lives in the sewer tunnels. Do you know anything about that?
The West side of Rockford has been shitty for a long time, I was working there in the early '90s when assorted bangers and trash pushed out of the Chicago Projects were making the local talent step up their game.
Remember the skanky street hookers 24/7 two blocks north of the main cop-shop on North Winnebago, and the 'pizza' place at State & Avon that never closed, also saw the whole shithole locked down tight inside of 15 min the night Sherry Glover got shot.
I'm well clear of that corrupt shithole, but it's a small city...
Never been to Camden, but prior to reading the stories on this thread, it was always regarded as easily the most fucked up hood in Jersey, by miles (apparently they even have a toxic waste dump site there). Never been there and would never set foot there, sounds like niggas out there are a little TOO hood. I have been to Philly once, but I was too young to really take any notice on how crazy it was, same goes for Harlem (if we talking hoods). Brooklyn's pretty hood, but it's more of a urbanite hipster paradise now more than anything, East Orange and Newark, from my perspective, seem a bit more hood. I'm sure there are a couple of niggas from BK that would toss slugs my way just to prove me wrong though hahaha
Ah-ah, no lady pics, I love those girls way too much to put em on blast. You've most likely seen one of them on the boards, though.
