If you plan on downloading anything, always use public hot spots, never the same one more than a day at a time.
Then use multiple virus, spyware, malware programs and clean the file.
Specifically for spyware, then move it to your other computers.
This will help ensure that if you are viewing illegal possibly tagged files, that you can limit and remove said files as much as possible before moving them to your other computers.

The key point is never use your personal and cared about electronics to view deepweb material, even more so at home.
This is how people get caught.

No one has ever been caught through Tor, no one.

A few people have been caught through bitcoins they got off tor (Freedom Hosting, SilkRoads). A few caught for revealing their identity on Tor (a few pedos) and apparently ISPs have the ability to tell you are using Tor (ComCast has allegedly sent out two cease and desist letters) but not a single person has ever been caught just USING tor.
