Does that chart have a date? Seems out of.


Ram is something to invest in up front. 8GB is what I got some years ago. I'd go for as much as possible, because you usually have to throw out what you already have to upgrade. Just get it now. Also get a decent processor.

And for graphics consider both the power usage and performance. If you are a gamer, then maybe you don't want a laptop. With laptops and pads fairly cheap, you might want a cheap portable computer AND a gaming box.

Also, for portability it's better to have a small SSD and no internal HD - you can always get an external one or a bunch of flash sticks. With USB flash sticks so damn easy, it's not really a big deal to have to change them for different tasks. Having an internal HD will mean your battery is always drained. Also invest in a decent battery.
