Definitely, but the odds of bleached out areas with no information and all-black shadows with no information are increased. That's why a cloudy day gives you better outdoor nudes than a sunny day, even if the sunny day seems like a better time. Your model is less likely to turn into a solar flare with black shadows. Even lighting makes the best histogram.
Pic related is a shot of a friend I took on a sunny day. Pale model-no detail on upper torso unless I had done a much better job balancing than I did.
