the reason why most people hate game grumps now is because it is now run much more like a business and less a show of 2 goofs playing a game and generally being bad at it.
back then game grumps was a good funny show, and it still kinda is, but but Jon was i guess you could say pulling the weight of himself and Arin to make the show as funny as possible for as long as possible, and now Arin and Dan being pretty much equal, the show seems a lot more "tame" the episode that felt closest to how Jon's were was mickey mouscapade because it was just dumb jokes and laughter through out most of the video and that was how it should have stayed.

tl;dr Jon is better because his jokes were dumb, and he was "hyper" most of the time

I used to like GG a lot. Got out of them recently, around the Goonies play-through. I like Dan, he's good at improv, and doesn't scream all the time, at all really. Jon had a good sense of humor and it rubbed off on Arin usually.

Danny isn't quite as funny. Dan will throw in sex jokes the majority of the time and they're generally not funny unless your sense of humor is shit. Dan was more mediocre than a unique great. This mediocrity rubbed off on Arin and now we have a show with basic humor.

You'll still find some funny shit here and there, but it's just so rare in comparison to Jon's era.

Literally, I decided to keep watching when Jon left and it was just okay. Wasn't that bad, it's was just, "okay". It's not wonder why I eventually got bored and stopped watching.

Something like that happened, maybe not a hit but some drama where Arin crossed the line on Jon's girlfriend came about. Arin was kind of being an asshole to Jon towards the end of his GG career and Jon was really beginning to notice what impact it had on him. When Jon mentioned moving to NY and living with his girlfriend, Arin got pretty pissed and kept pressuring Jon to not move and continue working on GG. Those two things created arising tension between the two and when the incident occurred between Arin and Jon's GF, Jon pretty much said "fuck this why am I here" and left fairly quickly.

Just a few months ago, Jon's had livestreamed absolutely drunk and mentioned his dislike for Arin when a viewer asked, so I'm fairly certain something of that sort is true. ("That guy is a fucker" or something of that sort.)

I hate hearing Arins forced laughter trying to make Dannys joke sound better than it is, while with Jontron, he would cackle like a maniac and have to catch his breath all the time.

Ive been watching Sonic 06 recently, and it goes from both jokes to serious discussions, whrere Arin would be completely serious explaining what he thought about a certain mechanic in a game, and the design a game. He could do this because Jon could follow through with what he was saying and understood Arin and would even add at times.

But then you got Danny. He's not there to learn nor is he really looking at the game in a design point of view. He just tries to make jokes wherever he can because he thinks thats all Arin and Jon use to do.

I use to watch GG with friends when they were over, but after Danny showed up, GG just became a solo thing to watch really.
