The old discontinued one had long mushy trigger. The current one is crispy with a clear ''wall'' and reset. Once you apply enough pressure to go over the trigger wall, the trigger will go all the way. The valve itself doesn't have any deadzone, but the trigger and gearbox are likely to leave some. I've glued some shims underneath the trigger to eliminate the dead zone though and some stores sell special ''high speed CNC spacecraft aluminum 1337 MLG'' triggers that have a screw to minimize the dead zone. The pressure of your finger squeeze required to go over the trigger wall depends on the regulators pressure.
The higher the pressure, the better the system works. I'd recommend a short barrel so that you aren't forced to use too low pressure.

It's not a bad choice. I was just making sure it was lubed. Out of the box you'll need to do some work to it. Pic related. A friend of mine got one, and this happened to his piston in its first game. Mine did something similar on the 3rd game. About 15k rounds did mine in. The gears were pretty fucked up too when I first opened it. The stock motor isn't great either, but it's useable. Bypass the rof adjustment, and throw some better connectors on it right away.

Not PKMan, but another guy with a PKM. Mine finally died at 30k odd rounds, it was the piston. Just getting everything lonex delivered to put into it, and I'll see how that goes.

The problems stock are overstated imo, and I never had any problems filling the box to the brim. The spring tightening gear in the box mag winding system broke, but that was easily replaceable with a spare hicap I had lying around.

I ziptied the trigger down on full auto. The gun went about 7 or 8 mins before the motor burned out. I wish I still had the Video. The gun was billowing smoke and the wires were damn near melted and the battery was literally sizzling. It puffed To about double its size. I just put it on a checker, and it seems alright. I like the grips color in pic related and I own regular CM040 with plastic furniture which I am not really fond of. I tried to find spare wood front grips but I couldn't find anything that doesn't cost 6 gorillion and I couldn't find a non-super expensive bakelite grip too, so...

Not the fill valve. Those are easily replaceable. The actual valve which lets gas into the gun. Those I couldn't find replacements for anywhere, so I scrapped the reservoir. HPA tapping IIRC completely forgoes the resevoir with a direct line into the gun which eliminates most of the problems associated with gas guns, but I'm not certain on that.

I don't think it matters so long as the kid has a strong understanding between the fantasy of airsoft vs the reality of real guns. They're a great way to practice muzzle and trigger discipline without the consequences of real firearms though, so I'd start with airsoft as a passtime in 8 or so years.

I want to get a gun for the only reason of tinkering with it and seeing what I can do to push it to the absolute limit. Thinking either a dmr or sniper setup.

What can I do, and how much would it cost to make a spring bolt action shoot 500+ and not grenade itself. Inb4 novrich meme tier stuff.

You'll want to buy a VSR or L96 since those two have the most upgrade parts available. Maruzen APS2 was also a popular platform a decade ago, but nowadays you'll need to hunt the upgrade parts from all around the world.

AirsoftPro makes afforbable tuneup kits. They cost maybe something like 150€. Mancraft makes HPA bolts that cost 120€ but you need to spend another 100€ for regulator and tank. There's Wolverine too but it's way more expensive. If you want to hit something too, you'll need to spend another 100€ for barrel and hopup.
No idea how strong spring the AirsoftPro kit can handle but 3J shouldn't be an issue. Mancraft can easily shoot 5J and HPA guns are easier to silence.

I'm looking to get into airsoft, and while I'm browsing guns that you've all recommended, I am honestly curious about pic related.

I'm not sure how popular these Youtubers are among the airsoft community, but I guess what I'm wondering is if any of you have experience with this model, and whether it's a decent piece or just junk with smart marketing.
