Botched a rock to fakie and came down hard on my palm/ball of my thumb and can barely move it. Hard to even use the remote lol. What is that just a deep bruise?
>>
Stubbed my toe being a retard at home.
Could hardly walk the last 2 days, skating is completely out of the question. Sucks absolute donkey balls.
Anyone have any experience sending a skateboard through the mail? I'm traveling to Melbourne for a week, pretty keen to skate a new city. Not sure if I should send a board through the post or buy a 2nd hand setup when I arrive.
>>
>>2761837
Never shipped a board in the mail but it shouldn't be any different than anything else which I've don't plenty of times traveling. I mean if you got the dosh though I'd go ahead and buy one there just to be safe - shit does get lost in the mail time to time.

Also ive got a broken toe from last Summer that still flares up when I tweak it wrong. Shit sucks I know. I kicked a soccer ball at the beach a month ago and was afraid to look at it cause I thought it was hanging from a thread.

recently bought pic related from my local. its a 7.75. threw some white griptape on it too. It looked clean before i broke it in, but i can't tell which side is up while it's flipping. this is a good thing, because it's training me not to skate by sight, but more by muscle memory.
apparently, as the heatscreen gets scraped away by various ledges and coping etc, itll show the ink underneath the white layer. looking forward to it

i was getting footage a couple days ago, first day on the new board. fucked my back up pretty bad trying to skate too hard. Did some new things, got some decent footage, but i gotta go work my service job and can hardly carry my own weight.

sux 2 sux
>>
>>2763057
it seems this is what is underneath the heatscreen
>>
Progress is going backwards, tricks I had are gone completely. I'm always too tired and bummed out to skate, too embarrassed to even skate with people I know. Skating doesn't make me feel good anymore. Think this is the end.

So should I put more weight on the front foot or the back?
>>

Stand straight. Shift your weight a littl backwards and explode off your back foot but onto your front one as you jump. Make sure you're not popping your tail directly down, but instead a little bit behind you. This will help with your weight distribution.

>>
>>2775041
>manual labour or become child soldiers

no,no, I meant useful things. It was more to point it out, I understand it came off wrong. And I have seen a Vice video on skateboarders in palestine and it actually made me feel optimistic.

get a mini if you skate freestyle. But more importantly, get special designed trucks that won't bend.

>>2776695
Oh I gotcha, how do tighter trucks help?
>>
>>2776983
keeping the deck leveled, offers more balance and also allows for snap motions.

less steeze, more pivoting and tick tacking

yes, because you can see Rodney Mullen struggling when performing, I mean that's his whole charm, that we get to see the struggle in what he does.

Why would you want less steeze?

Interestingly enough on the topic of truck tightness. Should I tighten them up if I'm trying to learn a Strawberry Milkshake? Feel like I can do this but I wanna come in fully prepared. That's my trick for tomorrow.

Fuck yeah, I had an awesome day with my boys. My buddy got his new camera, filmed a couple things. Met some cool dudes at the park, met 2 qt girls skating and got their numbers at a spot we were riding. Then got Taco Bell, munched out in the parking lot had a beer and one of the employees came out and told us free food to whoever gets falls and needs stitches first.

All around good day, having fun riding and meeting new people is the best part about skateboarding.

Maybe need to buy a new deck soon.

I have been skating a 7.75 and it kinda feels small for my feet. Thinking about getting an 8 but my trucks are 129 and they're brand new. Is it okay to skate an 8 deck on 129 trucks?
>>
>>2789119
139s would be ideal but you could probably get away with it. Poor choice buying 129s desu.
>>
>>2789119
>>2789212
I 've been skating 129s for 3 of the 4 years I've been skating, almost exclusively 8 and up decks.

The general rule is if you want to be techier, you go small: small deck, small trucks, small wheels

The hesher you go, the larger your gear goes: bigger decks, bigger trucks, bigger wheels.

That's because in tech, you want to give up some of your firmness to gain manoeuverability, whilst in going burly you need as much foothold as you can get with the speed and heights you 'll be aiming for.
>>

i disagree. the tracks that I linked (along with everything else similar artists are currently doing) are a lot more involved than the lazy nightcore "remixes" from the mid-2000s, it's more than just increasing the tempo and pitch. crapface and strider are some of my favorites in the nightcore community. additionally, 160 bpm is pretty fun to skate to

>>
>>2790907

Speaking of Vans pro, are they any good ?
>>
>>2790925
have you ever owned a pair of vans?because they're pretty much a slightly-improved version of your average vans.

the ultracush insole really does improve the support and feeling, not only on the board but off it too. on the other hand the extra top rubber they give you barely makes a difference, improving their life maybe a couple sessions.

the overall construction of vans is total shit. before i ever even really wore mine the side-stripe stitching loosened. soon after that the eyestay unstiched from the side panel, but that was after a few sessions. then the heel piece unstitched from the side panel. the soles are also fairly thin. better than some, but should be a little more.

Still overall my favorite shoes for ttheir mix of comfort, boardfeel, and support, but i really wish they'd either 1) improve the quality of the product and materials or 2) charge more for the pros but make them actually better.

hi, I know people aren't asking shit like this but I'll still give it a go. When I skate, im really stiff, and I can't fix my horrible style. I have a similar problem with my shoulders, and it's stopping me from learning backside disasters on tranny. The problem is that I'm not good enough for things that you might consider spots.

There are two spots that I can skate, One is a small square that has three ground-level fountains with grindable side walls. But they're filled with water so you know why that sucks.

The second is a literal two-stair with a bicycle ramp of the same height. Shitty landing.
