Yes! He was rescued from some moron who kept the poor pup chained outside without food out shelter. He's 40 lbs when he needs to be around 60. Despite everything he is an amazing sweetheart!!

The face and ears make me think lab, the coat pattern makes me think Swiss mountain dog. But it's hard to tell.

That pattern looks rottweiler x terrier or lab to me. It's probably one of those + some other stuff.

Thanks all anons. The shelter called him a Bernese mountain dog, but he doesn't look like that breed exactly. :)

Actually he's not a bernese... A sunnenhund is prob what he is...
Kinda like a short-haired, Lil bit smaller version of a Berner.
I'm pretty sure I'm misspelling the German or Swiss name for this breed but your new doggie is handsome as shit!

I'm going to say yes to there being rottie in there, possibly some sort of pit. From the front I'm getting pit vibes but in the other pictures, his muzzle seems too long and narrow to be a straight up pit/rot mix.
Also in rott mixes, this 'tri-color' is really common. DEF not bernese. The shelter probably just listed him as that so they wouldn't have to list him as a pit or rott mix since it'd lower his chances of being adopted.
