does true love exist?
>>
No. Think of the math. Depends on your definition. Multiple "true loves" sure. Next question?
>>
no

in fact nobody actually really cares about most of us
>>
Only between two men.

Yes. You'll know once you experience it.

No. The best you can hope for as far as love goes is a commitment from both parties.

Women can't love a man in the way he wants to be loved. That's not to say that a woman isn't able to love, they definitely can experience something they call love. A man might die for his woman if he's truly in love with her. Would a woman die for her man? Usually only for her children.

tldr the nature of man and nature of woman are not the same. Accept women for what they are instead of trying to change it entirely will make you happier.
>>
It doesn't. At least, not in the way most people think it does. There's no one perfect person for you that you need to end up with. There's a difference between love and lust, and that's where real "true love" comes into play, but it's not like there's one person out there that you're meant to spend the rest of your life with.

Do you feel attacked? The post I made comes from a good place. I've come to accept that men and women are not the same and I'm much happier for it. I used to blindly believe they were the same based on propaganda before I actually got out in the real world. Are you trying to tell me that accepting women for who they are is a bad thing? Should I get angry that they don't act and think in the same way as a man? Sounds like some problems.
>>
It exists, but it is different from the fairy tales and the rom-coms tell us.

The chief difference is that it is not effortless. It doesn't just happen to people; it has to be cultivated. It doesn't last forever on its own; it must be maintained. And if you don't do these things, it dies.

Why do you liberal faggots take offense at everything? He wasn't being rude, he wasn't whining, he simply acknowledged the differences between us. Guess what? If you need citation in order to believe that men and women are different, you are probably retarded.

Drink to forget, then stop drinking. Realize that she doesn't matter, she is just a one person. You are not worthless without her. You are a being who can change their life whenever they want.

I've never met anyone who wasn't important.

Liberalism has nothing to do with that post lol

Removing gender roles just creationistic. Much of academia is fucking creationist in terms of the sexes because it thinks it can nullify the existence of these differences and therefore create their own blank slate model of the individual. Which is actually really fucking existentialist and cool as an idea. However, it's completely ignorant of science, which is why philosophers aren't respected like doctors.

OP,
I hope reciprocal true love exists. I have been moved to change my life by becoming a better person. True love exists in the mind if nowhere else! It can be self-deluding, but also powerful. I've been insanely productive creatively due to it.

I think someone in season 3 or 4 of Louie states that it's a cruel blessing to be in love with someone.
>>
>>16867071
Honestly starting to believe this as a straight man. Perhaps it's easier to settle then? I'l love my children obviously, not in the same way but it's hopefully enough.

>>

>honestly starting to believe this as a straight man

modern relationships are unique. even in relatively recent decades it was common for women to spend all thier time with women, and men to spend all their time with men.

men and women didnt 'hang out' they went on dates. then they got married. and marriage wasn't 'hanging out'. they just lived together, and went on dates. at most they watched the same TV shows.

but theres this pressure these days that your gf has to be compattible in the way that you have to do EVERYTHING together and that doesnt wokr when the interests are so different. even with the nerdom closing the gap between genders, its tough.

but i can just have a guy come over, play some super smash bros, than fuck him in the ass. than watch some anime, go to his rugby game, fuck him in the throat after and it sure feels like true love after awhile
>>
>>16870804
Sounds amazing. But the main reason I don't see that happening with women is more about the priorities I experience rather than interests. I've found plenty of girls with similar enough interests, some more than my guy friends. But our interactions publicly and privately are just showing the priorities so differently. I have high expectations placed on me to be what they want everywhere, especially in public.

It really wears on you.
How can I train myself to be gay? Is there a way? I've heard gay camp doesn't work so probably not the opposite either right?
>>
>>16870804
>but i can just have a guy come over

Pretty sure true love implies monogamy, m80.

Just for saying this phrase alone, you will never be gay. Ever.
>>
>>16870828

people are more bisexual than they give credit for. two beers and a couple of cute girls lead to a very fun night of spin the bottle for me.

if ur striaght, feel free to experiment. try an app or gay site, or walk into a gay bar and see what happens. you dont have to suck dick (i dont) and you dont have to take it up the ass (i dont). just be a 'total top' and look for submissive boys that just want a 'striaght man' to convert. see if it tickles ur pickles at all. if not, no big deal, go home. at the very least you'll have an interesting experience.

outside of that, idk man. my bf doesnt really expect anything of me. hes cute, hes nerdy, hes ripped, and he gets fucking amazed when i do something like take him out for discounted sushi. ive never had a bf worry about how i 'acted' in public or whatever ur going on about. if hes with me hes with me cuz he likse me. but none of my bfs really cared about being in public at all. i know some faggots are all about social status.

>>16870843

i was being intentionally vague to show it wasn't just one guy id met who was cool. most any guy ive dated is like that, a bit interchangeable with the specific interests or sex acts, btu yeah.

i disagree with true love being monogamous either way. my boyfriend wanted an open relationship. so did I. it works pretty great considering we had a threesome the day we met.
>>
>>16870852
OK? I was thinking of pray away the gay camp stuff. I didn't remember what it was called. Or is it that it has to be more spontaneous. I'd like to have a clearer answer please. And I didn't mean to offend.
>>
>>16870852

let a man dream

>>16870865

you in socal? maybe we can do some low-risk experimentation.

but like i said in my post above, the best way to explore gay possibilities is to just go out and try some gay sex. if you can enjoy gay sex, then you can enjoy gay dating.

which is awesome cuz its essentially whatever you want it to be, just gotta find someone with similarish interests. which when ur dealing with guys isnt all that hard.

I'm in Sweden. I've tried gay porn and it doesn't work for me at all. I think I've given it a solid shot with variety and the only thing that works for me is trap before I figure it out. That's probably not even considered gay porn. Maybe irl is different. But I'm not too sure. I'l see if I can try it.
>>
>>16870895

lel. i wouldnt force yourself if theres been legitimately no itnerest. most men are able to do all sorts of weird things sexually (ive never been wiht a woman in real life, but found myself fapping to lesbian porn if its hot enough, and straight porn extremely often) but if you cant even get off to gay porn i dont think real life will be much different unless you get off on tabboo.

all i mean to say is dont force yourself to do anyhting you dont want to just because you think it will fix your dating life. its okay to be single mate. i was for 4 years until i met my current bf, and were in an open relationship as is.
>>
>>16870916

this is a funny thread mate. if u were in la id let you have at my ass (and im a top) just to see if you like it.

if you ever change your mind, just know its as easy as downloading an app and saying 'lookin?' to every guy you deem 'worthy'.

It's not when you're doing it to get off.
>>
>>16870996

never said it was mate. i mentioned sex, on top of v ideo games, going to his matches, etc.

i mean i wasn't getting into the nitty gritty of what makes it love. more of a 'you had to be there' kind of emotion. im not sure why you're fixating on the sex parts mate.

>Women can't love a man in the way he wants to be loved.

I could be totally wrong about this but I feel like when guys say this shit, they're only talking about specific women. Those specific women are the really attractive ones with tons of guys trying to get at them, hence she has more options/more likely to cheat or something.

I mean, I get that guys want feminine, sexy women as girlfriends or wives. But they don't really represent all women, because these women seem to carry a type of baggage and emotional issues that others don't.
>>
>>16871005
Because having a threesome and actually being in a poly relationship are two different things.

You can't be in "true love" in a poly relationship because again, the "true" part kind of implies you're leaving your other partner(s) out of it if you're all in love with each other.

thats great and all. if it makes you feel better thinking i cant know what true love is becuase the word 'true' implies something entirely different on a subject that is entirely subjective, be my guest mate.

i dont need to argue emotions with you.

I've dated women I wouldn't consider all that pretty. They weren't bad but I can't say that their looks would be a major influence on their personality in a negative way. They still put those standards on you as soon as they think they have you. It's a really big deal. I probably think his example about dying for someone is true, but I don't demand that. It just seems to lead to a very dysfunctional relationship to have what's essentially external demands on how I'm supposed to be placed upon me by then person I want to like. It's abusive really. Of course I want her to be happy and I'd do things for her but changing who I am to that degree is just not what I'd consider true love. Because she doesn't love me. She loves what she thinks I can become. She gets angry or upset when I point it out and the best attempts I've had at getting out of changing myself is reasoning about why the things she wants to change aren't important. But that only creates tension and she doesn't talk to me as openly and it just doesn't work.

If that doesn't happen in gay relationships and I'm 40 I'm gonna just go with it probably. Or maybe find another straight like minded bachelor and just be roommates for life. It would probably work for a while. At least until we're old enough that girls don't want us at all. But it'd be pretty bad overall because it's so deceptive to the women.
>>
>>16867059
Dunno what true love means in this context, but provided that a man and a woman (or whatever strikes your fancy) are attracted to each other, then strive to impress each other all throughout their relationship, don't base their relationship over one thing, are willing to relax and let their guard down around each other, are willing to compromise with each other, and are just willing to be happy with each other, then yes, love does exist.

S'pose it's not for everyone, especially if you're concrete on being asshole, but then again, what is?

Unfortunately no. A man can form a bond with a woman that looks past looks, behaviour and social status. A woman will be with a man only if she considers him worthy of her e.g looks, monetary value, physical presence. If you fail in two of these categories you wouldnt believe how quick the love you thought she had for you disappears.

Reality isn't subjective. Reality is what is real. The perception of that reality, which may or may not be skewed, is subjective. Fuck off with this "everything is relative" bullshit.
