Any militaryfags here?

I took the ASVAB and went through MEPS last week for the Navy. Got a 99 AFQT score, and was cleared medically.

They said I'm probably too old for NUPOC (26), and the better jobs (AECF) weren't available at the moment. I have around 120 college credits already with my Electrical Engineering degree, but my GPA is not really competitive enough for OCS.

I'll go back later this week to try to select a job. Anyone know of some really good programs I should look at? It doesn't have to be in the Navy, but I'd like to work with electronics or computers.

may have some more specific advice for you on this matter. However, I'm going to step outside the box for a moment and suggest that, while not really a thing in the modern navy, you consider the possibility of working not with electronics and computers so much as with wood. There's no wrong time to get started in carpentry.

go ask your recruiter you lazy piece of shit

Look man take my advice, don't take a job unless you're damn certain you want it. Don't take just anything because you're desperate.

Air force is more accommodating if you're looking for a more comfortable service

I'm good with electrical stuff, so that's where I prefer to start.

My recruiter seems to just want to sign me up for whatever's available. They haven't been helpful with discussing alternatives.

Yeah, I'm bummed about missing out on NUPOC, so now I'm looking for the best fallback.
