I've made a few posts on eros3d describing my Slavefire project a little more. I'll be working on some art to flesh them out in the next few days and maybe a simple playable demo soon, now that I've figured out what was killing my framerate (Why yes a subsurf modifier will slow down realtime animations, duh)

That's a big part of the reason why I'm doing a visual novel. Dialogue-only sex scenes in the style Overwhored did them just can't be long. You need a third person narrative voice in order to extend things.

For instance in dialogue you could say, "Oooh, ahh, not-not in my ass."

At the same time a narrative voice version of this might go something like:

"Oooh," she said as his fingers slipped behind her, cupping her ass cheeks. "Ahh," she moaned wantonly, her breath hot and thick with lust. His erection pressed between the curvaceous and plump flesh of her ass, slick with unexpected lubrication. "Not-not in my ass..." she moaned as he pressed the tip against her, pressure threatening to let him pop inside her in an instant. In spite of her words her body pressed back against him and the pressure increased, his oiled member beginning to push inside.

As you can see you can extend one a LOT more than the other. I hated writing sex scenes in Overwhored because the format I chose didn't really allow for in-depth description of anything. You saw the pic, you got the dialogue and dialogue alone, and that was it. I'm going to go with an entirely different format in basically every other game from now on.

Everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - starts that way. I started as a writer with no artistic talent or programming ability and created an eight hour long RPG.

You start with one good skill. You focus on that skill and learn how to do everything else passibly - yes, including art. I learned how to draw, I'm just not that good at it yet. Pic related is something I drew. Point is I could have finished my game if I ran out of money and couldn't hire artists to help me.

You'll need to hire a writer and an artist. Set aside the money and make a plan. Go slow. Do stuff on your own at first, make little games and practice. I can do it; you can do it.

Also don't put your first overly-ambitious big project up on Patreon. Make sure you'll actually finish it first. Overwhored wasn't my first game and I didn't put it up on Patreon until it as already half done - mostly paid for out of my own damn pocket.

Rely on no one. You'll want help, but go for people you pay. Volunteers will always disappear on you. Always expect people - even the ones you pay - to take off without warning and fuck you on the way out. Be prepared to do everything yourself in the end. Take the time and learn to do it all right.

If you have the proper sort of semi-autist level devotion necessary you can do it.

That was flat, the last picture I actually did with shading was this one. I'm a shitty artist compared to the people I hire, but I started at the stick figure level at about the same time I started Overwhored - specifically so I could one day do my own art, in fact. Art is expensive. I'd like to keep that money someday. Though these days I'd rather pay others to do it because it's such a time sink - I keep up my marginal skills mostly so I can salvage things if I run out of artists or money somehow.

As for that pic there's no point in explaining it, it's dumb anyway. "Girl hypnotized into anal sex" is a general theme with what I draw when I draw. It's simple, it's pure, and it's what I like. "Girl brainwashed into loving buttsex". There's nothing more to it than that.

So here's a way to make it a bit better!
Minigames. This can be put into two categories. The more points that are on the table the harder the minigame, or different chores different minigames. This will give your game a more long lasting appeal that might even rival the original trainer game instead of making it a fan game.
This is just food for thought.

Porn games shouldn't require grinding. If you want to make a game that's just (game type + porn) I actually think the best way to do that is to separate the two and have their implementation be somewhat natural. I played this RPG game that was just a normal RPG game except the player would get horny after a while and wouldn't be able to sleep.
