Is the focus exclusively on turning someone else into a clone/double/doppelganger or is there an argument to be made about stuff like Naruto where someone makes a copy of themselves?

To be fair, Clone TF/selfcest is in and of itself a niche fetish. It's not one you see very often and it's pretty easy to see why most TF fans and twin fans wouldn't be able to get into this.

Interestingly enough Naruto does have a mechanism for that, such as with the akatsuki cloning jutsu or zombification which requires a random human host to transform a person into your duplicate. But it's not explored all in all that much depth.
