I doubt many of them actually do. If they say they quit their job, it makes them sound entirely dedicated to the game, thus patrons feel reassured that isn't just vaporware. Unless you start seeing a massive increase in released content (either in frequency or quality/depth), I would find it hard to believe.

At the same time though, it's also a bad sign if they quit their job. If someone quits their job to work on a porn game, it's somewhat like jumping off the corporate ladder. When the game is done, they can probably get a new job in the same field, but they're sacrificing all of the inertia and potential that their previous position may have had. Unless the dev is setting up a game studio or announcing plans for more games, actually quitting their job is basically an admission that the game is now going to be milked for every penny it can produce for as long as possible.

When I was 18, I lived alone off $1200/month cashier wages (Tennessee, US). 3 bedroom apartment in a not entirely unsafe neighborhood, car was paid off and insurance wasn't mandatory yet. It's alright. I do have fun corrupting the school/town, but there's a few major issues with the game.

The class scheduling is a nightmare, especially after they removed the in-game descriptions of what stats each class adds to or subtracts from. I have to sit there with a wiki page open while spending 20 minutes organizing subjects for 7 classes. And then repeat every time I have to add a new class because now there's scheduling conflicts.

Aside from the 'special' characters in the game (the PTA, some students), there's really no character progression in the game. Almost everyone in the game is fuckable, but it's just a random image and some placeholder text. The only form of progression is slowly watching paperdoll characters lose bits of clothing.

It's a good concept with horrible execution.

It's too disjointed. You can tell all the quests were written by different people. It's too incohesive to be enjoyable. It needs to be completely overhauled and tied together so it has some sort of flow and the rewards/difficulties/traits are balanced.

That said, HHS+ has one of the most fun and easy to learn programming languages. I wrote a few quests for HHS+ myself and it was just ... a lot of fun. I think overhauling the whole game into something that everyone can enjoy would be pretty easy.
