Wife Trainer is the one exception. It's very straight forward about what your objectives are and what you should be doing.

I did test out other RAGS games and was blown away by how often those games would dump you in the middle of nowhere on a map, give you the vaguest of ideas about your goals, and offer no hints when you inevitably begin to run around aimless, hoping to bump into the next part of the plot.

Wife Trainer pretty much nailed it by keeping the "map" pretty damn small, and easy to navigate, with each location having a clear purpose.

RAGS games like the somewhat popular The Lilith Device I really gave a chance to, but I really hated the amount of empty space and lack of direction going on.

But Wife Trainer isn't just straightforward for a RAGS game, it's straightfoward by normal standards. I think that Princess Trainer/Disney Adventure game has great potential, but as it is now there's a fair bit of "where the fuck should I be right now and what should I be doing???" going on, for example. I never really felt that in WT.

from. Like, have you even played the game? It's the same pornstar used for each character throughout. If you meet the character "Terri" in the game, it's porn star Dani Jensen through out. There's no radical switching between different women with different proportions. Scene 1 is Dani Jensen. Scene 2 is Dani Jensen. Scene 3 is Dani...you see where I'm going with this. Different scenes might contain content from different photo shoots, but it's the same actress all the way along. In fact the different photo shoots is used as a positive: Either to showcase the character in different attire, or to show progression in their plot.

There's absolutely no point in the game where the character Terri's representation switches from Dani Jensen to another redhead porn actress, and the same goes for every other character.

So yeah, if consistency is your biggest problem with this game, then I hate to break it you, but it's pretty damn consistent.

We don't want to release a demo until we're happy with it.

It's not close to completion yet, but we're probably about halfway done now. Found a massive error which is causing us some problems (Renpy pickling shite) but we're working hard to fix it.

We have a new CG artist who has joined the team and our character artist has continued to develop sprites.

Gameplay remains very VN based, as those of you interested in the project are aware. The battle elements are nearing completion, but we are still looking for an artist to help speed things along in that field.

We have some proper music now, and a few lines recorded ready. Still looking for a couple of VAs though, if they fit the bill.

Writing/editing is about half way there. We've hit around 35k words or so? Lost count, but the demo will probably be around 60-70k, of which the player will likely only see around 40-50k per play through. We like to offer options where we can.

We'll continue to try and update our Patreon with new sprites/cgs/ect as we continue to work on the project.

We know we can't please everyone and many people will dislike our creation, but I'm hopeful that a few just might. We like it at least.

I have experience in 3D animation and modelling, but of course that's going to trigger a number of people in this thread. No guarantee I'm going to pursue that option.

If I did, I might lean away from trying to be realistic. The pursuit of realism is tricky, as the uncanny valley is both wide and deep. A slightly more cartoonish style might be better, but might also clash with the 40k aesthetic. Further experimentation is needed.

And that's the big thing right now, experimentation. Trying different platforms and art styles to find something I can do and that fits.
