Well it was more about things happening than anything emotional or character driven, and being so short it couldn't do more. As I said about if it was serialized and there was good characterization (avoiding cliches, harem shit, turning the MC into a faggot etc) and it was either driven by character development/interaction (the two of them could be fun together) or else a good plot then there would be nothing wrong with it. Yeah it didn't have as much 'substance' as some psychological onsehot that lets us see a character in an important and changing part of his life or something, but it had potential to be much more because it was a strong beginning. We'll never know where it might have gone from there though, and that's probably for the best.
