Well you see, Anno went to Las Vegas one time and got so incredibly fucking drunk that he manhandled an evangelist priest, stole his bible, and proceeded to read it all in 2.7 seconds. After this, he had a brain aneurysm from all the information and lost all muscle control for a second. This caused him to throw the bible at one of the many neon signs lighting up the city, breaking it. He rushed to pick up the bible, which was on the ground opened up to the beginning of Genesis. Suddenly, he had a revelation. He was going to make an anime called Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Either that or he just pulled words out of his ass because ENGURISHU IS SO COOL SUNUVABITCH
