I love PMMM but I really wasn't a huge fan of this fight. It really feels out of place, even in a movie where everything is supposed to be out of place. Yeah, I get Mami is the strongest meguca and she doesn't feel lonely anymore and Homura is a battle hardened veteran, but it's a real jump from E1-3 and E10-11 badasses from the series to the fucking matrix.

I think what he means is that the whole fight is based on a misunderstanding (Homura thinking Bebe is responsible for everything). This makes the fight weaker, since there's no real opposition or build-up between the two characters fighting.

It's still pretty good yeah but it's padding to make the movie plot more interesting (gotta have dem cool fights). A better fight would be Homura vs Wallpurgis, which has weaker animation but is a much more powerful climax

Once they get close to each other the choregraphy gets good. They don't just hold a gun and shoot, they move all the time to avoid, flee, pursue the other, and go CQC when they can. Also, the whole scene flows really well and I think that's an important aspect in a fight.

I know Naruto is cancer, but that fight was the epitome of what the series could be to me. It was a great mixture of both the internal logic of the show requiring strategy and the superpowers that got way out of hand in Shippuden.

Do you? The fight was fucking exceptional.
The animation has incredible weight to it, you could literally feel Asuka struggle to fight.
The soundstage was god tier as well with amazing music and sound.

And the end of the fight was intense as fuck, the voice acting was beyond stellar and combined with some of the most unsettling imagery in all of anime.
