Yes of course. I care more about watching anime/manga that I would find fun to watch and character I would enjoy than author realizing his creativity/plans. Just like I don't like Anno for what he has done with 3.33.
Of course if I were watching random anime that's main appeal are innocent girls, but the author suddenly decided to make them all used goods, I would simply drop it. But if my waifu who is my life-time partner, has become dirty because author suddenly decided she had previous romantic and sexual partners, I would get mad as fuck.

One person tore up a bunch of Kannagi volumes. There's multiple possible explanations for that. It could be a joke, it could be they really were that angry about the Ozuma thing. Either way, they're just one person, they don't represent all Kannagi fans. The fact of the matter is that Sankaku Complex has a long history of being a shitty tabloid site that does whatever it can to get page views, regardless of whether that means fabricating or misrepresenting events. Trusting anything on that site without a more reputable source backing it up is just foolish.
