Everything. I personally liked S2 more. Maybe because it wasn't as episodic and I really liked both the shota and loli way more than the boring kuudere. Drunk chinese batman was also more entertaining.

I really liked Suou, both conceptually and as a character. Unfortunately magical-girl-with-fuckoff-huge-gun, while pretty cool, wasn't the best fit for the world season one built.

This. S2 isn't as bad as people say it is. My only problem with S2 was Hei didn't get his powers back, it was nice to see how he had to live without them but it would've been nice for him to get them back in the end. Also, no S3.

I liked the idea of a lot of it.

I enjoyed the possible fatherly exploration of Hei as a person and I actually thought that we might get some mirror to that of his relationship with his sister being that his powers E.G. his sister were transferred into Suou.

It had potential in my mind to make Hei an even better character and just about the only moments I enjoyed in S2 were traveling through that family side of the story.

Mahou Shojou PTRD-chan

The character development was way less subtle than S1, but I enjoyed it more because of that. It felt like an arc in S1 but blown up into 12 episodes without feeling dragged out.

Everything but the ending. I love DtB S2.

S1 really isn't any better than S2. They both kinda suck.

It was great to me. The OVA shit in-between seasons got the feels rollin for Hei and I was all for the season 2 shit. One of my favorite action anime.
