Why the frieza saga is the best saga of all battle shounen?
it was the pinnacle of the legendary shonen series. they literally fought against the strongest warriors in the UNIVERSE. name 1 other series that did that.
>inb4 gurren lagan
mechs don't count as warriors
they're probably saying that since that arc was toriyama going full improv mostly because his editor told him to keep changing villains. Even toriyama didnt really know what was going to happen sometimes for better or worse.
the strongest warriors in the universe who've trained their whole lives in countless life-death battles could blow up planets, which took them their whole lives to obtain their strength to the point where it was at.
some random dude was like "DUDE ROBOTS LMAO" and we got a handful of robots who were created with powerlevels in the millions with barely any effort, easily surpassing any of the warriors who actually trained and fought for their strength. they literally skipped level 1 and went straight to level 999,999,999
>they literally fought against the strongest warriors in the UNIVERSE. name 1 other series that did that.
Small time. Pretty much every shounen pulls the same thing about the latest enemy being the strongest warrior in the universe, at least until the next arc when the newest strongest warrior in the universe appears.
JoJo and HnK are both leagues better.
Series that run too long?
DBZ: End after Frieza.
Bleach: End after saving Rukia from execution.
Pokemon: Let Ash reach the Elite 4 and finish the series either way it goes.
Berserk: Just end it already.
Because we got loose cannon Vegeta running around wrecking everyone's shit and causing a ruckus. Nobody knew what he'd do next. He was a wildcard.
>Bleach: End after saving Rukia from execution.
>Letting Aizen not suffer consequences
Just as planned.
to answer OP it had all the silly shit that people secretly fantasize about
becoming a god, surpassing all previous assumptions, blowing up anything at will, having magical powers that have no specific limits, and an exploration of the implications of discarding your morality in favor of enjoying violence for its own sake, along with the promise of absolute power and the opportunity to use it
freeza was originally a brilliant villain, in that he was always calm and arrogant no matter what he was faced with, completely certain of his own absolute power, he was definitely better than he seems now
the reason why vegeta is growing in popularity and goku is becoming more and more boring is that people are waking up to the idea that these things are at least partially possible, but only to those who have the confidence to completely ignore other people's preferences
Vegeta is a jobber, and has been humiliated for years, but once he accepts that Goku is his superior and works from that starting point, he's infinitely more alpha and will easily surpass him
I wish there was an entire saga for Broly instead of two retarded out of character movies.
Broly had so much damn potential for the amount of backstory he had. I love how brutal and absolutely insane he was
You mean Diamond is Unbreakable, right?
Honestly the fusion shenanigans were the weakest link in the Buu saga. It's definately a tie with Freeza Saga though.
I love the part where the major villain changes 7 times and the final villain's motivation after reaching his final form is to... prove himself?
Robots were already a thing in the original Dragon Ball you faggot
That said the RRA shit in Android/Cell Saga is retarded and I will never believe they were in any way affiliated with the original RRA from DB
Dragon Ball used to more than powerlevel shit once
As good as it is, I wouldn't strictly call Diamond is Unbreakable a battle shounen, it has many elements of SoL and mystery solving as well.
Reading the Namek Saga for the first time is one of the most entertaining and exciting experiences that one can have while reading manga. I remember how hyped I was when I read it as a teenager, Vegeta's and the earthling's shenanigans are priceless, you really don't know what's going to happen.
Yu Yu Hakusho - Dark Tournament Saga
Agree, or be wrong.
Zabuza arc from Naruto was better. Literally the only good part of that shitty series (other than the ending.)
I don't even like Dragon Ball anymore, but I still enjoy the Freeza Saga.
Maybe it's because of Ryusei Nakao. I love that man's voice.
