Has anyone else here read Sundome?
I started reading it like 3 hours ago on a whim, thinking it might be good for a fap or two (and it was) but I couldn't put it down and read trhough the entire thing without taking a break. Jeeesus christ, the ending hit me like a god damned freight train.
I think it managed to simultaneously be one of most intimate, erotic and saddest mangas I've ever read. The sad was probably amplified by the fact I didn't expect anything more than some cheap JO fuel going into it. I was surprised to find out it was translated into english, and also that, for some reason, they made a JAV out of it, which looks terrible.
You mean in 2007 or something? I'm not that old of an oldfag, I came here around 2010.
But no, I don't remember ever seeing anyone mention it here. Maybe I just missed the threads.
Ah, must have just missed the threads then. Damn, I was hoping some anons would be down to discuss but I guess I missed the boat.
Any idea if there's a box set for the english release? I see some of the volumes on amazon but not all of them.
Damn, I didn't know he made another one. I'd like to read it but I'm gonna be sad if it just isn't translated as all.
she's terminally ill. they never say exactly what it is, cancer maybe
Bloody hell, Ibitsu is a name I haven't heard in a long time.
It's a drab style to fit the whole grotty adolescent weird shit.
Sundome was a pretty big thing for me. I read it a month or two ago and couldn't really get over the ending until two weeks ago.
I can accept that "we can have sex when I wake up" is a morbid joke and that she's probably okay with the rape of her corpse, but that doesn't make me sleep any easier. I don't fault Hideo for it, and I don't think it makes the ending any worse. I just can't like it. What I did like was in the epilogue. When he says "hey how about that golden shower, after all?" It really signals that he's grown up and moved on; and he really has found someone to love again. Even if he's having problems; he's still moved on and is living a healthy life. Remembering the girl that changed his and helping others as a doctor. She really changed Hideo for the better, and that's what makes Sundome pretty good. The only thing that's making me cry right now is that I Can't remember her name.
>that chapter where she puts in a suppository for him
>that chapter where she plays with his butt while they're in the bath together
i came many times
Bro, you seriously misunderstood. He didn't fuck her after she died, and she didn't mean it as a joke either. She was just trying to be positive, and have her last words be at least somewhat happy ones.
Also, Kurumi Sahana
Only about 1/3 of it is translated and the ending looks pretty bad, judging from the last chapter (which is one of the translated ones).
The mangaka doesn't seem to be a big fan of
Eh, I mean, it was a happy enough ending for the MC in Sundome, at least after the timeskip. Like another anon said, she made him a better person, and he probably made
the last year or so of her lifea lot more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. It was definitely sad, but it wasn't bleak or hopeless. IDK about ibitsu.
second best "cumming on an almost dead girl" scene in anime/manga history
The very short version:
He is some awkward social outcast who works at a sex toy shop and has doll making as hobby and she doesn't have a family (or something like that) and then it goes:
boy meets girl, boy makes doll that looks like girl, boy and girl get separated, somebody throws acid into her face, boy goes a bit crazy and runs around with the doll pretending that they are still together, girl gets pushed in front of a train (probably dead), the end.
With some femdom in between of course.
Damn it. I wish you hadn't mentioned ibitsu anon. I just read it and now I'm depressed the rest isn't translated
I read it the past 8 hours till the very end of it.
After that i come to /a/ to search for such a thread to hear comments that may kill the feels that killed me 20 minutes ago.
I..I am very sorry.
Still, I really hope someone will pick it up aftter it gets a bit more recognition it deserves. I'm hopelessly unable to learn kanji so If it never gets translated, I will never enjoy how it ends.
>my knowledge of sadporn is so much greater than yours
Well fuck you
>I started reading it like 3 hours ago on a whim, thinking it might be good for a fap or two
Everyone started it for that
> but I couldn't put it down and read trhough the entire thing without taking a break
Everyone went through that after the first fap
>I can't stop reading this
>Jeeesus christ, the ending hit me like a god damned freight train.
Everyone ended like that.
True, just quite a thing to explain. I forgot about the doctor. What was the deal with him, I think it's been 4 years since I read it.
To this day though I still remember Kurumi jerking Aiba all night to ward of ghosts or something.
>What was the deal with him
he was her doctor, probably knew her for a long time and partially cared for her after her parents died. The author used him as NTR bait, since it isn't clear that he's a doctor until the end chapters.
Did you respond to the wrong person?
I was talking about this.
It was a tragic waste of time!
Alice no 100°Cc 7, it's literally about a manga about a guy with a piss fetish. Only one volume though
manga adaptation of Justine when
>Leukemia is bone cancer
Nah, it's blood cancer. Like, your body won't produce white blood cells or some shit. So it's something you can't actually get rid of, you just treat it and buy time basically.
