Well it depends on what you're going for. I think you resized it a bit too small.
Someone bored enough wanna clean this for me? Thanks.
Is there an easy way to rebind the tank after debinding? There're several books I'd like to scan but they're so full of double-spreads that I don't think my usual pressing method would work, but I really hate the idea of ruining my books forever as well.
Can someone upscale and properly clean these two pages please? I tried it, but it looks like shit.
No, not really. Especially when you consider that most manga is like $5 or $10 so it really doesn't end up being cost effective for the time and skill it takes. If you want to scan manga but you aren't prepared to debind them, then you're just wasting everyone's time IMO.
Problem is that I doubt the bookshops I bought the tanks from will ever restock them. Hell, I bought one of them few months ago and they still haven't replaced it on their shelves.
Just get a modern flatbed scanner for about $100. You need something that can output at least 600dpi, can do 48bit color and where you can control all scan settings. From there, it's just a matter of the scanner's speed and physical dimensions. Canon makes good scanners.
Spent three weeks scanlating something solo. Had to do a ton of redrawing and the typesetting was a huge pain due to certain uncommon issues. Released it and not a single person expressed any gratitude so I guess no one wanted it.
Don't know why I bother anymore.
What do you want me to say? I'm giving you real advice. Don't do shitty scans. To do good scans, you have to debind. There is no easy way to rebind a book and it isn't worth the time/effort. If you want another copy, order it online.
Honest question, why do you scanlate to get e-thanks?
I've been scanlating for over 9 years and I don't care for people thanking me. If I wanted thanks, I'd just scanlate a bunch of shitty romantic ecchi shounen school life series and the thanks would come pouring in, but since those kind of series don't interest me...
I'd recommend a Canon scanner, price varying on how seriously you want to be into scanning.
As for the settings, every scanner is different. Gotta use a trial & error method to work it out.
Anyone here know a good source where to get raw magazine scans? I only recently started to take interest in it, so I have no clue about the scene. Under usual circumstances I'd make nyaa my starting point and try to hunt down uploaders, but they're DDoS'd again for millionth time this week. I'd like to try out ongoing series from magazines for practicing Japanese. Reading something fresh of the presses when others still wait for it and thereby enjoying the nice feeling like I put the language to very practical use might help combat my natural laziness.
Once this proves to reliable, I'm gonna see if I can set up some kind of secret club FTP host for RAWs or something down the road.
Many thanks. Didn't realize the goddess collected magazine raws too. In fact, so far she's probably done more to hold my practice back, since it's just too convenient to grab translations from her and neglect practice. Laziness is suffering.
I'm like this too. Whenever i release a chapter, i have to read the comment on every sites.
Batoto - Kissmanga - Mangapark (it has Disques comment now) - Mangago - Mangahere (The thing on the chapter) - Twitter.
I'm sure that owner of one of the oldest (maybe even the oldest) active scanlation groups is thirsty for some e-peepee on Cambodian sandal strap sewing board.
What if... someone might have a question for him.. because ... you know.. this is scanlation thread.
But nah, he and Hox are just attention whores.
Is there an anon who's been buying the digital issues of Young Magazine? Trying to get some better ebook rips for the oneshots.
Do you even know what the purpose of name/tripfagging is you newcancer? YOu're not making any sense. Giving advice is not something you can only enable by revealing your own identity, retard.
Anyone have a better idea to rip from MangaOne rather than screencapping it one by one using snipping tool?
There was an anon in a Prison School thread a while back, guess he only bought a few issues.
I have no plans right now, except for maybe Comic Beam.
They removed some of the back issues.
You can read BULLET 第１弾 真鍋昌平 on here until 2016/02/28 (Japan time)
Hell, if the jap gov wants to ddos, they should be targeting the chinks since there are more chink scans than english ones. And there's also more official chink releases than eng ones.
Another double from Me & The Devil Blues. Love it when the gaps are literally a pixel in size. Makes it so that even talentless hacks like myself can redraw it.
