Battle Angel Alita General: post all things related even story time
>Battle Angel Alita
What were you thinking? Nobody comes to /a/ to discuss things they genuinely enjoy. People come here to discuss their relationship to fictional characters and to shit on everything.
>turn her into a boy
You talking about Zechs? I dunno, I thought her picking out her own new body and trying to forge a new identity for herself was cool. Plus her argument with Zekka:
>How old are you, kid?
>[defiant] I'M TWO!
Is the tournament shit STILL going on? Did the manga finally end? Last I checked they killed Edgemaster Martial Artist by shoving a gun up his ass and then Jupiter was gonna destroy humanity or some shit.
>I dunno, I thought her picking out her own new body and trying to forge a new identity for herself was cool
SJW tranny propaganda
I'm cool with it I just miss girl sechs.
Last order ended. Now they're doing "Mars Chronicle". The shitty tournament seriously irreparably ruined Last Order though.
>and everything you love about the series will be forever ruined
Already achieved with Last Order
The tournament was good for like three chapters, and I did enjoy seeing a normal human obliterate opponents by sheer skill with guns, but jesus it killed any momentum left in the series and replaced it with
Only thing worse was the Vampires arc.
>Last Order ends with
the Scrapyard, Tiphares and Ketheres finally making peace, and Figure finally being reunited with Alita...or at least the one he met. The one we have been following the whole series instead continues her journey to Mars, leaving all of her former comrades behind with the belief that she may not return alive.
Oh for fuck's sake that is some bullshit
Yeah. A friend of mine gave me the entire english-published series when she moved away, I was amazed it just...went to this other story for two straight books. Would've been furious if I was buying one each month, wondering when the fuck they'd get to the fireworks factory.
Mars Chronique has been going better since a few chapters, finally the Gally we know, and fucking Nova is back.
This backstory in the last chapter was beyond fucked up though.
It was better than the dumbass tournament that should have been one or two volumes tops. Last order was 19 fucking volumes and the tournament started on volume 5. Even discounting the two vampire volumes that's 12 volumes of the tournament. The original Gunnm was 9 volumes in total. Zott should have been a side distraction like rollerball.
Aaand the full collection.. Ya i dont have all of last order but i dont really care about it...
Why didn't you save them, /a/?
oh, huh, wiki says they survived after all. neat.[/spoiler
You're missing about 34 volumes of 3x3 eyes son.

Got the head from heycarnut (on Steam and in the Gearbox Software forums). Please be sure you drop by http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=157003 and give him a +1 for what he's done!!!
Save file is for a Lv. 38 Commando named 'vengeanceCreed.' You'll find the head in his inventory.
What he rushed was the alternate ending of volume 9, which doesn't count anymore. Aside from that the original serie have several arcs that lasted around 2 volumes. The pace is totally different from the shitty Zott tournament.
>go sweep and mop for a while
>come back and see all this shit in my post
The fuck. How did that happen
Mars Chronicles is "okay". Its kinda all over the place and I can't really see where its going. Nova being introduced already and being neutral is eh.
He still has Avatar 2 and 3 to do. Hell, finishing Avatar 2 is a few years away probably.
Anyways, Cameron is just going to take volume 1 and 2 and condense it as some origin story just so he can make a roller ball movie.
>>He still has Avatar 2 and 3 to do.
Whether he did Avatar or Gummn first wound up coming down to a CG test.
From "The Futurist - The Life And Films Of James Cameron" (2009)
>In May 2005, Twentieth Century Fox agreed to a $10 million development budget for Avatar based on Cameron’s treatment, which had changed little since he had written it nearly ten years earlier. The $10 million would cover his writing a script, a year of designing characters and creatures with a staff of artists, construction of a virtual studio in Hughes’s Playa Vista warehouse, and production of a prototype that Fox would use to determine whether to fund the film. Titanic producer Jon Landau nicknamed the endeavor “Project 880” to preserve some secrecy. Cameron had been trying to decide which movie to make next, and there was fervent interest in Hollywood and among the director’s fans about his plans. The smart money seemed to be on Battle Angel, an adaptation of a series of manga comic books first brought to him by Guillermo del Toro and being written by Cameron and a little-known screenwriter named Laeta Kalogridis, who had penned a well-regarded spec script about Joan of Arc while attending UCLA. But Avatar had a better scene in which to test the technology—a five-minute mix of action and dramatic dialogue between two CG characters—so Cameron decided to start with that one. “It didn’t occur to me that this decision would essentially be the decision of what film would be made first, but that’s what happened,” he says.
I fucking love this comic. It's got a great sense of progression. In chapter 1, it really feels like the junk heap is the entire world.
Then eventually we get into magic kung-fu space vampires, but none of it feels like a huge leap.
I think I stopped reading after vampire woman's back story. It was cool and all, but I totally lost interest in what was happening with Alita. I don't even remember any of the other characters.
>Last Order was basically ZOTT + Vampire Arc
>Titular last order was just a little thing on the side that never mattered in the plot at all
Only good part of LO was when they spied on the Ladder meeting and everyone had a mighty good laugh about the rumour of nazis colonizing Mars in 1940s.
