/a/, you suck and I'm never listening to you again.
You spent years telling me Toradora is garbage when it is in fact the most fun I've ever had with an anime.
What ever /a/ says is trash is useless good, unless it really is trash. Basically never trust the people on here.
>What ever /a/ says is trash is useless good
>You spent years telling me Toradora is garbage
Did you perhaps not watch a single romance series in all these years? Because it sure sounds like it considering TRDR is a piece of trash. Now imagine having to watch this as it aired and actually hope this shitty tsundere would somehow lose.
This, basically. /a/ in a nutshell.
It's not bad because it's entry level.
It's bad because the plot went to shit and the characters are all lame and uninteresting.
I'm saying most people should have seen this shit ages ago so why the fuck are all these new niggas making threads like this?
This is terrible.
Subs are great though.
Got quite a few tears out of me.
She reminds me drastically of my ex that I had just gotten out of a relationship with.
I absolutely lost it at the "I am a dragon and you are a tiger" part. And when she left at the end my heart was in absolute pieces.
She voices Al, and her voice is run through a metallic-sounding filter to match the fact that she's supposed to be a suit of armor. I didn't even know it was her before looking it up.
>what didn't you like about it, what made it bad?
>hur idk it was just lame and i didnt like it, you newfag
>I'm saying most people should have seen this shit ages ago so why the fuck are all these new niggas making threads like this?
I don't know, why are there "I just watched NGE" threads every day?
You guys are approaching it from different directions. He looks at a character and says "What makes this a good character?"
You assume that a character is good until proven otherwise.
Say that to my face, motherfucker.
Taiga is generic tsundere in every way, vaguely tragic backstory and everything.
Megumi is genki to a fault until her nonsensical attraction to Ryuji comes into play and even then she's still fucking boring.
Kitamura is literally nothing but a romantic interest to keep Taiga from going after Ryuji until his president subplot shows up.
Ryuji and Ami are fine but nothing special.
No, idiot. Learn to fucking read. I didn't even say he was wrong, just that his post consisted of 'lol its lame and the characters suck' then he asked why we have threads about anime that aired years ago. The whole post was retarded.
So you are faulting the use of the tsundere archetype? Do you feel the same way when every anime uses an archetype for their character, or are you just autistic about the tsundere part?
Now anon go state why you think they are good or else you are full of shit.
You are clearly lying since Toradora is popular as shit.
Thats what I visualize every time I read one of your posts. You're like someones edgy OC
>Disregarding all his points and trying to concentrate on the "tsundere" bit
Nigger, Taiga was a violent bitch all throughout the show. The only reason she ended up with the guy was because she desperately needed someone to take care of her daily needs in place of her father, and because he was the motherly type that was involuntarily forced to give in to her needs. She mistook dependency for love and look what we got. Now excuse me while I off myself for seriously replying to your newfag shit.
Holy shit look at how hard these kids are trying to fit in. O I am laffin. Keep lurking friends, I'm sure you will eventually pick up on enough meme words to learn how to improve your posts in the future. As of now, you are still trying a little to hard and it is outing you.
Not him, but I've been watching anime for about five years now and still haven't gotten around to Haruhi. You don't literally go down a list of shows from most to least popular when you're watching stuff.
>You spent years telling me Toradora is garbage
Are you fucking kidding me?
An entire meme dedicated to how it's the greatest love story ever told.
Yearly stream rewatches.
A meme/copypasta fanfic based around the story of Toradora.
/a/ fucking loves it other than a few contrarians.
>If you don't cry over kiddy romance crap you are edgy
I bet you're a 30 year old neckbeard trying to give excuses for not being a bitch boy.
Pretty much and this is literally entry level romance so you have no excuses newfag.
>These fags still can't provide a reason why the characters are good after saying i should state why they suck
Guess they really are trash
You are baiting me, right? This is you playing the character of 'newfag who spouts nonsense then calls everyone else newfags' right?
I feel like i am being cleverly rused, but in case I'm not, it seems like you didn't even watch the show. Or maybe you watched it once and hated it and just formed your opinion without ever going back.
Because actually, Taiga is only 100% full on tsundere for the first 3-4 episodes. After that, it is obvious she is in love with him and she even admits that during the pool training arc which is like episode 8 or 9. Before even halfway into the show, she is fully in love and gets mad that he can't see that. Why do you think she flipped out at the pool? Because she is a dumb tsundere haha violence XD? Or maybe it was because she is frustrated Ryuuji can't understand she wants him to be with her over the summer. She gets mad when he implies she doesn't really care whether he goes to Ami's summer house or not because somehow he still hasn't noticed she is literally fighting to keep him.
On top of that, how do you not see that the blurring between friend, classmate, caretaker, lover is all really confusing and that was the fucking point. They couldn't express their feelings properly because they didn't know if they were genuine. Maybe it is only because they lived next to each other, maybe it's only because Ryuuji likes to cook and clean. In the end, they realize he only does that shit for her and nobody else and they belong together. Alright, you can go ahead and say you were baiting all along now to do some damage control.
If a few people say it's good, it's probably average and you'll love it.
If a few people say it's bad, it's forgettable.
If a lot of people say it's good, it's overrated and probably moeshit.
If a lot of people say it's bad, you better sit down and watch that shit.
Welcome to /a/.
Not him, but:
Sorry this superior music gives you a headache, granny.
Too short. Swords (katanas in particular) are better.
I hate talking about them. It shows weakness.
Those ate not edgelord qualities.
I guess enjoyable might have been a better word to describe it. The general tone is similar to the last four or five episodes of Toradora, and I found everything where Linda was concerned absolutely heartbreaking.
>Or maybe it was because she is frustrated Ryuuji can't understand she wants him to be with her over the summer.
thing is, this was the case
and yet the story constantly has her push him towards Minorin solely to keep up the "will they/won't they get together" melodrama, and they did this for way, way too long. The last 1/3rd of the show was just plain frustrating to watch, where the plot stopped moving forward solely because every character (except Ami?) being extremely dense
and then when the conclusion everyone knew was going to happen 15 episodes ago finally does happen, it's massively rushed + Taiga fucks off for a year just to add some more melodrama I guess
The characters are arguably generic but that isn't even a bad thing provided that they're done well. The story itself simply turns to boring shit for no good reason.
Major Toradora fag. I'll give it a crack.
I like that he's played like a self-insert. Certainly he has self-insert characteristics but he's his own character and you're pretty obviously not meant to keep relating to him. You can tell from the beginning he's flawed as you can't really tell if he prefers Taiga or Minori and this carries on throughout the show.
Also, he's just plain funny. His jokes to do with his cleaning and cooking are great, plus his shenanigans with Ami.
Tragic character. Watching her growth throughout the show is just plain depressing. She comes off at first as an idol type character who has development only to show us that this isn't enough to get the guy, yet she still doesn't become anything more than a puppetmaster even though she wishes she were a puppet.
Not much to say. She's messed up in the head. She has sort of semi reasons for being the way she is but these are all made explicitly clear so I won't go into detail with her.
Again, her reasons for her being the way she is are made almost abundantly clear. I like her because she's cheerful so she'd be fun to be around, but also horribly flawed. The culmination of the Christmas arc showing her fragile ego is down beautifully.
He's great because he's at first played as The Straight Man yet we soon see he also isn't quite right in the end. Kitamura's an interesting character because he's at first portrayed to be the only normal one of the group and his existence is basically there to help with one of the major themes of the show that "there's more to life after high school". He's there to say that that love triangle/square with the main characters? That's not the only thing going on in the show. Kitamura is involved with his own love triangle/square/whatever to show there's more to life than our main characters.
And it's done so subtly too. Kitamura played an important role in the theme(s) of the show, as did the teacher.
Yes that is all true and I manage to overlook it since I enjoyed the rest of it so much. They really did fumble the final third culminating in the most retarded decision ever which is to make Taiga's absence a year long. In the LN it is like 3 weeks and she is back so I just take that as the canon ending.
>not being irrationally serious about anime at all times
Didn't I say I was going to off myself? Stop making me want to fucking post. First of all do not even begin to contest her "reasons" for the violence since it was violence nonetheless. Unless you want to call her autistic in ways that she couldn't comprehend how what she was doing was wrong in the first place. You don't hit people that fucking hard so many fucking times because you're "mad" or "confused" and can't explain yourself any other way. And don't even try to bring the word "love" that early on. Her true feelings didn't develop until late into the show. Even during the pool scenes she was still at a stage where she was unsure what she felt about the guy. Let me assure you though all the feelings she ended up having for him from start to finish were due to his complete control over her life. He helped her get her shit together and was the closest thing to family she had in a while. You cannot tell me that had nothing to do with it since having someone she could depend on after all the shit she was through with her family would obviously influence her feelings towards the guy. From having no one and living off instant food and takeaways, here comes this nice swell guy ready to cook and clean for you, get you ready for school or whatnot and listen to what you have to say simply because he's a swell guy. Now if that's not falling for him out of dependency I don't know what is. Also please don't use "genuine" as an argument. You'll remind me of an even worse show.
tl;dr Taiga a violent dependent little shit.
Same here actually, just started watching this about a week ago. Right now I'm 9 episodes in and the show itself is relatively interesting so far. Tons of anime have done similar plots but there is something weirdly entertaining about such a basic story. Of course I know how it ends but I like the little growth that I've seen from the characters so far and taiga as a design is fucking brilliant. Full disclosure: I have a weakness for tiny tsundere girls
>can't stand tsundere violence
>watch romance about tsundere
>complain that tsundere was violent
Why do you even bother? It's like me watching Free and then telling people it's shit because it's too homoerotic. Or some reading Sundome and then bitching about piss.
Nobody say is garbage, is just not good, the story is easy as 2+2=4, even a four years old could understand it. I know, complex =/= good, but come on. Then to say it's the most fun you ever had, then it means you are either shitposting or you have watched 5 anime.
And not gonna start with the fact that Taiga it is the example of a tsundere done bad.
I think I see the issue here. You are upset that Taiga only loves Ryuuji because she 'depends' on him and that it is too much like 'family.'
You see anon, for lots of other people, they do love their family and depend on their family. That is part of why you love them. In fact, it is usually normal to love your family if they feed, clothe and educate you. Now, I understand, maybe your mommy didn't hug you or cook for you so this triggers something deep down within you. For others, though, their family is usually a good thing. I don't know why you personally hate the idea of someone caring for another person, but that is your business.
As for the rest of your post, I really am not sure what to say. I mean, you are upset that Ryuuji did things for Taiga? How exactly should relationships develop? I thought finding excuses to hang out with the person you like and doing things for them was normal, but I haven't had a girlfriend in a while so you might be more experienced. Please, explain what is it about Taiga relying on Ryuuji for things that upsets you? You don't like that he cares about her? He should have been colder and meaner? But I thought you don't like tsunderes? Truly, I am confused.
Romance genre can only be done well through actual books.
There are no good romance anime/manga.
I think the argument here is that Ryuji came to Taiga when she was essentially non-functional as a person and essentially took care of her. This isn't a bad thing to do, but continuing this for any period of time or into a romantic relationship can be dangerous as either party may feel they are unable to leave the relationship or may feel obligated to stay in it.
I would say this problem is avoided by Taiga displaying that she can in fact function on her own if she needs to, building her own relationships, etc. But I see where the argument comes from.
>is just not that good
Hey, I liked it too, but then to say it's the best anything? Nope, way too overrated. It's just a good series to spend your time, though 25 episodes was way too much, I think 12 or 13 would have work just fine without lose anything important.
I actually think is one of the most boring and stupid shit I have ever seen, but I can't say that here or everyone will shit on me.
I figured it was obvious since that's why they had her leave to sort her own shit out for a while. She even recognized this on her own, then came back on her own. And I mean, the guy likes to cook, it's not like he got nothing out of taking care of her meals.
Toradora one of the few romance anime that I like. Any other "shit" suggestions /a/ ?
this is 2016 4chan anon back then they didn't say it's garbage but when new fags keep piling up they think it's garbage because it's what Hip and Cool people would say in a romance anime.
Probably sure most of the anons right now don't even watch anime. They are only here to shitpost and post memes
>not reading objectively superior manga
Well, it is actually shit though. All the characters are retarded, every problem in the entire series could be solved in 5 minutes by having a conversation. The drama is ridiculous and forced as fuck.
Toradora is a shining example of everything wrong with this genre.
its easy to sum up most threads on /a/ using toradora as a template
3 girl-who cares
4 girl-who cares
5 love rival and who cares
Anon 2-3 cries about girl 3-4 not winning
Anon 1 is happy mc is with tsundere
Anon 4 is cuck that wanted 5 to win tsundere
Anon 2-3 proceeds to shitpost on tsunderes forever after because they are retarded shipperfags.
cuckfags proceed to say how much they love ntr and /a/ tells them to kill them self
tsunderefags feed off the tears of shipperfags/tsunderehaters.
and all is well on /a/
>/a/ says it's TGLSET
>telling me Toradora is garbage
You just wanted to create a thread about it, right? Don't need to be tsundere, here!
A Taiga pic
