Since it's going to be an adaptation of a finished manga series you are supposed to be consistent or at least try as a publisher/production. Not like any one is interested in doing Pun pun in the first place, so it's just my opinion based of recent adaptations productions.

As much as I would love an anime Asano deliberately designed Punpun in a way so that it could never be adapted through any other medium, and as of 2014 hasn't been approached by anyone. He seemed to be quite pleased when he reported that.

Might be my shit taste at play but I actually preferred Aku's anime. Not so much the rotoscoping, that looked dire, but the atmosphere was fantastic.

I suppose with a more realistic style I'm thinking of how characters looked in Lain/Paranoia Agent. It would be cool to have a really cartoonish Punpun solo'd by Yuasa or someone similar be shown alongside them.
