Not really, the anime was made as gateway to get people in to the manga and it did that just fine for me. Watched the anime, loved it, started reading the manga.

My dream is to have Madhouse make full adaptation of all current berserk material in to a quality anime while following the manga 100%, no changes, no censorship.
