We've reached an age of weekly AKB49 translations. Chapters are coming out faster than ever for now.
Rejoice, because shit is happening here.
Not sure if ruining everything
Keep the thread bumped, since OPs can't bump their own threads.
>guy dresses up as a girl to become an idol
>has to submit ID and paperwork when applying
>somehow manages to do this without anyone figuring out hes a guy, but the manga just skips the entire part without showing how he got fake IDs, etc
>somehow nobody notices that he has a really manly voice even though he is required to sing for hours non stop
>always manages to change in private even though an idol's schedule wouldn't always give him the luxury to do so
>he isn't even attractive when crossdressing and idols need to be attractive, he has a very obvious manface and hands
>almost all the idols are shown to be good people rather than lying, backstabbing bitches like in real life
>no mention of the common industry practice of demanding sexual favours from idols in return for promoting them
>the only depiction of managers/directors is the stereotypical "harsh but secretly a nice guy" type and the "makes dramatic demands to motivate the idols, complete with dramatic closeups of his face" type.
So much wasted potential. They could have made a cute trap, but instead they use a ugly guy and gloss over how he fools everywhere. They could have showed a realistic potrayal of the idol industry, but they just show overly dramatic and sugar coated idols and managers. The relationship between the MC and main love interest has barely progressed in hundreds of chapters.
Although he doesn't (didn't?) know Producer knows.
The producer knows he's a guy, which means he can bypass some things.
Japanese people are basically much more androgynous than some other countries, it fits that their girls can pass as boys or vice versa
He does not have a manly voice, hairy body, or anything similar.
He changes in the bathroom or something
He looks fine
There are some bitch idols here, its the focus of maybe half the arcs. You meet a bitch, and by the end of the arc she's cured of bitch disease. Its Vegeta syndrome, since this is innately a shounen.
Of course they're not doing sexual favors; the industry doesn't work like that, since they're selling the idols 100% on purity in a sense. Its even an AKB phrase that you cannot be in love or have any relationships or sex while in AKB. If an idol had sex or was impure, Otaku's would torch the town and riot.
It would negate the entire message in the biggest way I could explain to you over a few paragraphs if you wanted sex in this manga, especially when the manga is titled "Rules Against love" and the entire theme is "No love".
>Something like that
