Unfortunately I've only seen it dubbed (back when it came out when I was a huge little brat) so I can't say anything about the tone or story per say but the animation and art is top notch, Ghibli did a good job there.

Slightly unrecognized but not under or over-rated. Something most people should see once at least

I loved it as a kid and I still love it now but I realize that some of the lines in the dub version of my country sound really weird or cheesy.

the dub is good, there's a few minor difference (like a few added line) but accurate overall. Disney was the one handling the dub and Ghibi made sure there wasn't any drastic changes or alteration.
