Not only is it more accurate to the source material, but it retained most of the violence from the manga. Kazuhiro Furuhashi, one of the top directors in the industry at the time, turned Togashi's masterpiece manga into an even better anime adaptation. I really don't see how anyone can objectively think that the '11 series is superior when it falls flat in so many ways:
1. Amateur director that turned Hunter x Hunter into a Saturday-morning cartoon, with almost no violence or respect for the source material. Egotistical to say the least, to think he could tell a better story than Togashi.
2. Screamo music aimed at adolescent pre-teens with anger management issues. Just goes to show what kind of demographic they were aiming for.
It's no surprise the reboot took years to get licensed by Viz, considering Madhouse's haphazard treatment of the Hunter x Hunter property.
>Badmouths Hunting for your Dreams
>Picking the adaptation that ends on a complete cliffhanger.
1/4 ain't bad
I must say I'm happy to see these threads but there was one just a few hours ago, some people will feel oppressed and get mad.
You just made this thread not long ago, Stop trying to force this garbage.
I wish the manga would come back so there would be less of these shitty threads.
We already know everyone is going to fucking die, fuck you Togashi you cunt
Kurapika and Leorio are getting out of DC alive, it's Togashi's will. The MC's in HxH have always had crazy amounts of luck on their side.
The Ryodan has known exactly how Kurapika's abilities work for a while now, even if he makes it out of the DC he's fucked because they know how to counter it. He barely made it out of Yorkshin and next time he stands even less of a chance.
Leorio isn't even out of med school and probably only learned nen recently, i don't see how he's going to make it out alive if Muherr's soldiers are barely backup reserves tier.
Killua pretty much completely failed his second objective from the election arc because Illumi now knows everything about Alluka and can plan against it.
Gon is alone and nenless and still has to meet Gyro, he might be fucked depending on how it goes.
The only MC who i don't think is currently fucked is Ging but even then he's on Beyond's side so he'll either fail or get all the Zodiacs (Leorio and Pika included) killed, and i imagine that'd be the end of the hunter association if it happened.
Chimera Ant Arc is truly the pinnacle saga that all anime, not just shonen arcs strive to be. Not only is the story telling prodigious, the pacing and character development is top notch. The level of depth that Togashi created is on another level. The exquisite and subtle use of narration at only times of importance delivers an amazing story telling experience.Of the various themes present in this work, his theme of ethics and value theory incorporated with various interactions between the characters appeal to logos, ethos and pathos, and this amalgamation of techniques once again prove his acuity and status as the smartest and wisest writer ever. His profound messages regarding anthropology and the juxtaposition of insects and animals with introspection as a species delivers an amazing tale of tragedy and loss. The fact that he delves into the more psychological aspects of human nature, morality, structuralism, existentialism, meta cognition and phenomenology show that he is the Shakespeare of writing and that he truly understands philosophy, proving that this epic is the most intelligent tale ever crafted. Togashi demonstrates his ken of the human race as a hole through the Chimera Ant Arc, his magnum opus.
Kurapika is probably stronger now. Don't forget, he didn't train very much and still gave them a huge fucking scare. Plus, we have yet to see his index finger's chain ability. Besides, I doubt the Troupe will be actively seeking him without restoring Chrollo's nen.
Leorio is probably just going to hang back as either a healer or he's going to have a lot of dumb luck.
I think Killua realized this, which is why he will always stay by Alluka's side. The only way for Illumi, or anyone, to get rid of Alluka is to separate him from Killua.
She was good. The one ninja girl to bring out killua's dark past was shit. Those are like the only ones of any importance though I haven't finished 99' yet (near start of yorkshin) so maybe there will be more.
Shit but cute.
I don't remember there is more original characters.
They found the Nen remover (black dude from GI), but nothing beyond that. Keep in mind that Feitan's party was the one that found them, and that Chrollo is currently traveling with Machi, Korotopi, and Nobunaga.
Have you not read the Chimera Ant arc? I seriously doubt that Togashi would push aside Chrollo, or kill him off-screen, if he had his nen restored.
I want to see the exorcism, damnit.
HxH disappoints me in the way it manage to do great, insurmountable twists (Gon's nen for example) and still want to find a way to restore it.
Would have been great to have an handicaped protag
Togashi is all about anti climaxes, I just assumed when we saw Hisoka again he'd won. Plus that was right at the end of GI, ages and ages ago so surely they had time to get him to chrollo.
I'm 99fag and this is obvious falseflagging. The first adaptation wasn't so much violent, in fact, Nippon Animation censored quite a lot of moments like Puhat's head or Chrollo's pen. The fight with Injuu and Uvogin torturing are much more naturalistic in Madhouse adaptation too.
All this has nothing to do with the level of direction and sound direction though (even if Furuhashi isn't the "top director in the industry" by any standarts).
I want Quwrof to stab me sexually with his pen!
This fan animation is better than episode 85.
Anita was really the only undeniable bad addition in 99. The rest are either good or minor.
