>Aliens invade Earth
>better make giant robots
How does this make any sense?
Anon, you forget the one, supreme premise in ancient Japan:
Anything will sell better if you add giant robots.
Aliens have anti-air lasers that shoot down aircraft, so they need highly mobile things that can also use melee weapons since there's a shitload of enemies and ammo is limited.
It's pretty weak, but then at least it tries to address the concept that human-looking robots is a pretty unrealistic concept in general.
>Aliens have lasers
>better make giant targets
they only shoot upwards since they avoid friendly fire
the point about the e robots is that they are ground units, who can still make jumps when needed, but without flying
as I said, scientifically it's still pretty retarded, but at least they tried instead of accepting it as a premise thoughtlessly
Wouldn't attacker helicopter be better?
helicopters generally dont fly as low as that because anything that can hit their blades will fuck them up.
also they need something to go into hives and destroy them, armored vehicles cant handle that kind of terrain so TSFs are used.
Is there any anime where older but obviously more efficient weapons (static or mobile) defeat these giant mechs?
How is that tiny shield going to protect us?
>Aliens invade earth
>Better send the hotter girls we have so we get only the ugly ones to repopulate earth.
Anti-"tank" missiles would kill them just fine.
>hating mechs because muh realism
Kill yourself, prententious asshole
Mechs will never actually make sense because they're physically impossible
So stop bitching and drop it if you hate mechs so much
> Angels attack earth
> Better get in the fucking robot
Aside from the extreme amount of ammo required, they would only work in certain areas. Plus the level of maintenance required and how often you need to preform maintenance on those things would make them a bad choice against a swarm rush
30-40? Thats just the big ones. Ya know the ones as big and bigger than the mechs. Add 300-400 vehicle sized ones and a couple hundred human sized ones. Those are just in your general vicinity
First, there is enough of BETA to outnumber the Earth's population billions of times and more.
Second, THE FLOOR IS MADE OF BETA, have fun delivering your nukes to the hive that actually can withstand the ground bombardment with anything the mankind have at its disposition.
Third, moon BETA just resurfaced, after more funny things appeared from the bigger repository, and calls for reinforcements.
Four, BETA leaving the lifeless planet, after stripping it of every resource
>b-but mecha is stupid
>Not liking Takemikazuchi
BETA can easily tear tanks, aircraft and people to shreds. TSFs are the only way to fight them without calling in bombardments, G-Bombs and nukes that only can hit the target if the laser class are destroyed.
This anime is so damn fucking addictive holy shit. Yet so underrated.
The episodes literally get better and better.
>Aliens invade Earth
>better dig up a 200-year-old battleship and send it into space
How does this make any sense?
they're some kind of carbon-based lifeform that's actually a biological harvesting machine controlled by some higher beings in space. We didn't know who their creators are except they're some kind of silicon-based lifeform They don't consider humans as living beings because they believe carbon-based lifeform can't occur naturally.
Given how Muvluv franchise became, I think we may never get any conclusion on the beta plot. They seem to focus more on the political affairs.
Would be over-run in moments. They also didnt have the tech to make such things early on, and by the time they could, the earth had such little resources left the tri-core wouldnt have been worth. Assuming the BETA attack one point, the objects could hold it until they ran out of ammo or needed maintenance. After that however, it would be over. However, they don't just swarm one area. They swarm multiple areas by the billions. You would need a whole hell of a lot more than two or three objects. Any projectiles that are shot in an arc would be incinerated as well. There is a reason why the only bombs used are pure kinetic and covered in unreasonable amounts of anti-heat plating. Even with that most are still incinerated. At this point we havent even considered the terrain or actually attacking. Since the beta are actually all over the ocean floor id think the Tri core would be fucked without any chance of proper retaliation. I think you seriously underestimate the sheer amount of BETA there are.
Kinda silly that they still use tanks with reactive armor and shit. Would be better to lose weight and focus on mobility. Those tanks get torn apart in a second if they're caught by the BETA anyways, armor doesn't do shit.
I havent looked into the break carrier's shots in detail. im simply saying any shots like mortars would be. So what if it can sink a battleship? We are talking about hour long combat with billions upon billions of these things. Assuming the guns never stopped firing for a second. The object may have a chance. Even then, they dont have the range to defend properly and still cannot attack hives. Imagine you have those two objects defending the US. Now, see the east coast? They will come shoulder to shoulder out of the ocean. The entire coast will be invaded at the same time. It would be just like what happens with MGs. They would shred through so many of them. However, the sheer amount would slowly break through. We are talking billions just waltzing through. Not even giving a shit and using their allies for cover. if you had a wall of objects that could cover each other during reloading and maintenance it would be all good though, but then the beta would just send laser class and that plans bust.
Those little red fuckers and the human sized shits. They arent really talked about much, but they are constantly there, and while the little red fuckers would shit on you provided you get swarmed, how bad would it be if you were toast from just ONE touching you. Thats why armor.
A lot of the failures who don't have enough of TSF aptitude end up being normal infantryman and tank drivers. They basically exist to stall them so the tsfs can do the work.
If you're worried about one of those things punching your tank you don't need reactive armor or sloped armor. since that's protection against projectiles. Light tanks, APC's and armored cars is sufficient protection from the human sized ones.
Point is they could redesign them to have more firepower and speed without any loss of meaningful protection.
Would be cool to see some more interesting mechanised units instead of just normal MBT's rolling around.
I always assumed thee human sized ones had some sort of projectile. They arent exactly talked about much. I thought they did have mechanized units. Like power suits and shit that stood next to the tanks. Now im going to have to go re-read it in hopes i can find more specifics
The tank class Beta (the red ones) are described as extremely agile that can also eat through the heaviest of armor in seconds.
Any kind of ground vehicle seems useless to me.
They're better off making TSF-style vehicles for everything.
