>>137156679 No you're just one of those faggots who doesn't know what a trap is and is allowing more and more obvious masculine characters into it and losing the whole meaning of "trap". Even Nips started cracking down on the rampant misuse.
The liberties they took with the story in FMA actually improved it. Brotherhood abridged too many of the scenes which took away a lot of characterization. That, combined with the predictable and cliche "I am become God" plot, IMO makes Brotherhood way worse by comparison.
>>137157307 I have to wonder the last time people claiming 2003 as better have actually seen it. It has superior music and direction but it's pretty dull when it branches off into the original story. The last 2 or 3 episodes are particularly bad.
>>137157755 Indeed, I like the idea of Homunculi being the product of human failures and I like 2003 Lust and Sloth but it just doesn't make much sense. There's just a lot of bad writing in 2003.
>It cost Ed his leg to pull Alphonse's soul back from the gate but it takes a whole philosophers stone the size of Al's body to bring back Ed >Everything about the parallel dimensions shit >Archer becoming the fucking terminator
>>137157412 03 is better than Brotherhood. That's not a compliment for 03, Brotherhood was just shit. The earlier parts of the story that both shared were done better in 03 (better direction, better music, better pacing) but 03 turned to shit towards the end where it did it's own original thing.
Brotherhood followed the manga but didn't even do it that well and was even less enjoyable than 03's wacky nonsense.
>>137156311 Does anyone else have a problem with their favorite characters from certain series being turned into hentai?
I know full well that the Sonic is depicted as a trap but actually seeing it I just can bring myself to finish reading any doujin related. And not just that, any other series that I like I just can't read doujins for it
>>137158715 Pretty clear that corona is a male. Medusa wouldnt fuck a daughter up so bad, because she could become a witch. Medusa was disappointed corona was a boy and took out her frustrations on him
>>137157333 The whole point was that you got attached to his character post death - he gets fleshed out later in the series. So yes, it doesn't have a full impact early on, but as they continue to reference it throughout and you learn about his character, it becomes increasingly meaningful.
>>137161932 it depends. for me i never had an issue seeing envy sexualized due to the gender shenanigans making it more entertaining, but with sonic the bodysuit makes it a bit more perverse, so i stem away from it.
Envy doesn't play a huge role in the overall series but the first anime gave him the most attention. Also best character design. I don't care what anyone has to say about it but Arakawa has a pretty ugly drawing style. In both the manga and the Brotherhood anime he plays bigger roles towards the end but its still nothing substantial which is a shame. He's the only character I've ever felt legitimate emotions for after Hiei from YYH, who is my husbando from now until eternity.
A hundred times this. FMA was my life back in my weeb days and I was super amped for Brotherhood but then I watched it as it was airing and I couldn't have been more disappointed. Everything that made the first anime so good and the characters all so likeable was completely shit on. In my opinion, this is a shining example of the manga > anime idea not always being true. Sometimes the source material is better, sometimes they're both good, and sometimes the anime adaption is better. It depends how they're handled and in this case, the 2003 anime was handled the best.
inb4 nostalgia fag, I was the person MOST excited for Brotherhood when I heard the news.
There are literally hundreds of fanfictions about just that. There was one I read years ago that involved him shapeshifting into a sexy lady, having sex with Ed just to fuck with him, then getting pregnant. Mpreg is ridiculous but it was actually a really good story and like so many others, it was never completed.
For some reason the good fanfiction, which is so far and few between its not even funny, is never completed but all the shitty ones seem to have endings.
>>137157149 I saw both for the first time last year and have no nostalgia for either. Brotherhood was a lot better overall but lacked some of the early depth given to certain revisited plot points, like Scar's rampage in Central and Hughes' friendship with the Elrics.
I think the botched mother transmutation was better in Brotherhood though.
Yeah, it was called Dark Humor. I just looked for it and checked, at the end of the last chapter she says she wont be updating anymore due to school. It definitely had a shaky start but I've noticed that a lot of good ones do.
It must have gotten deleted thanks to FF.N's bullshit rules, it only has 28 reviews but thats not right at all. When I was reading it, it had thousands of reviews. I bet she was pretty upset about losing all of that.
There was a YYH story that I really liked which was EXACTLY the same. Had a rough start but it got better, was deleted off FF.N for violating the rules, then it was never finished. The thing that upsets me the most about this one is that the author moved the story to MediaMiner and she made the last two chapters she ever uploaded locked, so you could only read them with a password. I don't think I ever got to read those chapters which still kind of irks me to this day, as pathetic as that is.
