Trigger's new show. Looks cute.
That's the announcement? Holy shit this is going to be great.
Before people going >hurr trigger needs to make manime only
Did you forget LWA being basically their most-lauded thing they've done so far? If they are truly a top tier studio in the making (I think few people bill them as that but we definitely were a few years back), then they can be great at anything they want.
Lookin' pretty PSG.
The trailer was already powerpoint.
>literally a new trigger anime just announced
>almost no hype or reaction
Is there some other thread I'm missing here?
Let's look at what they've done recently:
>Inou Battles: Decent enough, but nothign special
>Ninja Slayer: Took Inferno Cop's gimmick and ran it into the ground before the season was a quarter of the way over
>LWA2: Met expectations, and no more
Just saying "it's trigger" isn't insta-hype any more because it's not guaranteed quality any more.
Only thing I enjoyed 10/10 from Trigger was the first LWA.
Here's a bump and an image I just made.
I'm already bored by trigger. Too bad they weren't behind MEME!MEME!MEME!, that would've been impressive.
>same voices as Hikari and Takeru
>implying Trigger was ever guaranteed quality
Also you forgot Hackadoll, which was great. I'm hoping this is more like that and less like Ninja Slayer or even PSG.
I loved Hackadoll a little too much I think. If Space Patrol is anything like it, even at 8 mins it could be AOTS material.
If it actually is only 2 minutes though that's very much in "why bother" territory to go through the effort to make an original. So it's probably 8.
Kiznaiver looked like the gayest faggot shit ever from the jump. If you ever thought to look forward to it, then all I have to say to you is buy the BDs and support my favorite studio you cock sucking mega twink.
>The "intergalactic first love story" show takes place in Ogikubo, which is the name of the specially designated area in space in the Milky Way where Earthlings and aliens can live together. Luluco is a female middle school student who lives with her father, and no matter where she is, Luluco is a common, "super normal" girl. As she is living her normal life, one day the mysterious transfer student ΑΩ Nova abruptly appears before her. That meeting will change Luluco's fate.
>implying Ninja Slayer wasn't amazing
You sir, have the greatest of shit tastes
>a super normal girl meets mysterious blonde ayy lmao
The greatest love story ever told.
>Trigger doing love anime
>Luluco is a common, "super normal" girl
>will begin airing April 1
I bet it's a troll. The girl is probably a trap or the guy a reverse trap.
I fucking love the PSG style.
Just wish it wasn't powerpoint for once but maybe they'll make something more of it if the short series will get positive resonance.
Many people are still sleeping, depending on the time zone.
At least if they're like me and sleep from 6 AM till 3 PM.
To be fair I liked KLK, it was funny. Also, I like their animation style, it's crazy the way it's not realistic
>If they are truly a top tier studio in the making
They had their chance with Kill La Kill to prove they are the top. All it was, was a gender bender version of Gurren Lagann.
Trigger haven't made anything good since Little Witch Academia.
Good thing Mari Okada will save Trigger with Kiznaiver.
>Did you forget LWA being basically their most-lauded thing they've done so far?
And LWA isn't even particularly good. It looks nice, it animates nice, but it's nothing special.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is action in Luluco, but mecha design doesn't mean a show is action-oriented, just means there's mechanical objects that needed to be designed. Uchuu Kyoudai, for example, had a mecha designer, but it definitely wasn't an action show.
Could be many reasons for it.
Could be that Trigger was the cheapest, or had an animation style that the dudes at Disney and Pixar looked the most fitting for it, perhaps there are people who are buddies with each another, or it's a combination of all three.
That OP sounds cute.
I like goofy space stuff so I'm looking forward to this. I hope that video isn't too much of an indication of what the animation will be like, I'm not expecting much but that's sub Inferno Cop tier.
>shintani voicing cute smug girl
The new Nonon.
Note her skin is darker than the other chars. So she's either brown/tan or some alien color given the show. With that eye on her head and shark teeth, guessing alien. Maybe red or pink skin? Possibly like a cross of Nonon and Kneesocks/Scanty in look/feel?
It's airing on the Ultra Super Anime Time timeslot which is for short anime.
They've already got Kiznaiver airing in Spring as well, so doing two full-length anime would be insane anyway.
>people thought Imaishi and Butcher were working together to make something epic
>Butcher ended up making a puppet show
>Imaishi ended up making a 3 minute flash show
>the studio is very small
>They opened a new studio
Am I the only one not confused by this? Why would Trigger open a new studio if they're already a tiny group of former Gainax guys? Am I missing something here?
>Butcher ended up making a puppet show
Wait, what is the Butcher making? The last thing I saw was a thread in which we only knew that he's going to make something but not what.
naw man, it's in space so all bets are off, I can see it now episode one mc girl is running late for space school so she just grabs some space toast before hading out the door of her space house before she gets his by space degree and turned into swiss cheese because fucking space
