Was Kill la Kill a good anime?
Not really, but watching it with /a/ was sort of fun
>The OST is great, though
>The fucking rapper in Before My Body Is Dry
Aside from the "DONT LOSE YOUR WAY" part which is always used well in the anime. The entire song is pretty mediocre. It has that whole "I got to find out who kill mai dad" x2 part. A very small amount of the song is actually enjoyable. Aside from it, the themes for major characters, the OPs and EDs are all pretty good.
I know it's off topic but i have no idea where to ask, but why is /v/ so hated? It help me find good games everytime i browse it, here on /a/ i see only moe shit and fanservice, so what's the thing?
There's a version of it on SoundCloud that's been edited to remove the rapper. Honestly though, by now I've heard it so many times that it feels too weird without it.
/v/ has poor taste in anime, but more importantly they contribute to this boards destruction by removing elitism
/v/ browsers are the people who ask for source on everything and expect to be spoonfed, and worse, when they rarely do know something they spoonfed others
>you're saying that elitism is good and helping others is bad
Precisely. As shit as /a/ is, it's by far the least shit place about anime on the internet because of its elitism.
It lost its way.
Pic very much related, everything went to shit after she appears.
Elitism is very beneficial for actual intelligent discussion. If we bash the plebs into submission then they lurk and learn on their own before coming here and shitting up threads with shitty grammar and endless questions.
/v/ is fucking awful at discussion because it's become disgustingly casual.
It's okay. Not great, not terrible either.
It being v/reddit/mal/whatever bait has nothing do with anything really, not sure why people are so obsessed with what those groups think in the first place
I think I honestly would have preferred Kill la Kill as well animated ocassional movies instead of being a TV anime.
The writing would still blow, but at least the animation would be considerably better.
Watching it with /a/ transformed it from being a pretty fun show to an unstoppable hype train for me.
For me that was when Sawano started going downhill, though for whatever reason it also seems like when he started to get really popular. I much prefer his old sound before the constant shitty shrieking vocals in everything though it looks like he's never going back to it.
My brain says no but my dick says yes.
Haven't been there much in a while but every time I pop in I tend to regret it, feels like everything is TORtanic 2.0 or gay tumblr-esque whining about whatever hot button issue they're riled up about at the moment.
To be fair /a/ is pretty shitty, you guys here support fanservice and moe, for sure it's nlt the best place on the Internet to talk about anime and manga, this site is already full of kid brainwashed by meme just to fit in the group (gt is shit amirite guys, vento aureo is shit, I'm part of the group yet?), this is fucking conformity, you guys should stop blaming /v/ for everything and grow up.
I was here for enough time, and /a/ is one person and agree on everything, everyone thinks /v/ is shit only because people say so, and this is applied to every opinion in this site, everytime i post here i end up fighting with someone's because i challenged their meme opinion on something, like now, and then your post could be applied about /v/.
>everytime i post here i end up fighting with someone's because i challenged their meme opinion on something
And there you go. You just proved that /a/ is not one person. People argue about shit on here all of the time.
>you will never fugg a hot fascist dictator
Is it weird that I find it impossible to sexualize any of the characters now?
Yes. The show is ridden with fanservice.
Also red and black is a dangerous combination. Especially when the blue highlight wild card is thrown in.
>Doujins were great though
Even tennis shark girl got some attention in those
So, i hate fanservice, but i know that fanservice =/= bad anime, but it is very excessive in this one, should i give it a try? Does it worth watching? I will watch only if you guys say so.
Mako and Nonon are more fuckable than Ryuuko or Satsuki to be frank lads
Like any show from Gainax I've watched with /a/, it was dumb, but amazingly fun to experience alongside /a/.
It's the reason I'm looking forward to whatever madness Imaishi and trigger are cooking up next.
Not that I expect it to be good or to save anime or anything like that. But that it will be a wild ride of specula, arguments, memes and general fuckery that makes coming to this shithole and spending so much time with you /a/ssholes all the worth it.
Dis nigga knows whats up
It has very, very nicely drawn (except the QUALITY in certain episodes but that was obviously lack of budget) but the plot got slowly but steadily worse as if they were writing it on the fly.
I enjoyed it, personally.
My figure for Kisaragi came in today even.
It's a solid 7/10, don't get the sexual appeal tho..
Yeah, but it kinda ruined my life by making me a faggot and then taking my one true love away from me.
Still remembered this wedding comic with them
The fanservice was pretty straight forward.
>Mako is mom tier, made to breed
So very true
I don't normally care about shipping, and I didn't even really care about the Mako shipping with Big McLargehuge, but GOD DAMN it all the porn isn't of those two. I just want some vanilla with your generic self insert faceless dude having consensual sex in the missionary position for the sake of procreation with Mako, is that so much to ask?
Mako can be shipped with almost anyone, anon.
Generic self insert guy is very low on the list though. He just can't compete.
He probably has a better chance with the other girls
I don't know about that. Even at the end, it still does things to my dick. Criminal things, evil things,
glorious things. If that's true though, then I wonder if KLK is actually a secret plot by legit Japanese nudists to desensitize viewers to nudity to they can carry out their semi-nefarious plans.
>everyone thinks /v/ is shit only because people say so
Right, I guess all the e-celeb/let's play/twitter drama/gamergate/forced memes/"x game is a meme tumblr trash game"/console wars threads are just my imagination.
>Like any show from Gainax
You haven't been paying attention much, have you?
Yes if you measure a good anime from the euphoric thrill you get from watching it and not be a pedantic autist.
Trigger is Gainax 3.0.
Shit, you should have been here when Diebuster was airing. That was some divisive shit right there.
TTGL took the entire board for the ride of our lives whether they wanted to or not.
PSG ruined Christmas in the most spectacular way possible.
KLK wasn't so widespread across the board, but it still kept things packed to the brim with excitement and funposting galore.
They should've simply kept them as rivals and not reveal that they're sisters. It served practically no function in the story and just made it really weird to ship them.
>PSG ruined Christmas in the most spectacular way possible
Ah good times.
Also, if Trigger is Gainax 3.0, who's Gainax 2.0?
Well Ryuko already had a boyfriend, and Satsuki's seiyuu said she'd never want to get between them so it's fine right either way, right?
Kill la Kill is a better action anime than One Punch Man.
I liked the concept but the execution was not good to me
The thing I disliked the most was that it was so determined to be crazy some scenes were just physically unpleasant to watch because so much was going on at the same time
>[it] made it really weird to ship them
Yolu realize the Japanese practically specialize in making everything weird, right?
>scenes were just physically unpleasant to watch because so much was going on at the same time
But how could that be even possible when all action scenes were going at such pleasant pace of 1 frame per second?
Yeah, it's pretty good.
hardcore tip: don't let retarded anime "critics" and "experts" tell you what you can and can't enjoy about Japanese cartoons
I like it a lot. It's one of the only shows that consistently gave me chills. The plot is at the very least passable and does its job of giving some cohesion to the completely over the top shit, which is what it's all about. If you're wondering whether you should watch it I still consider it a must.
Probably not, but it was entertaining as fuck.
Before My Body is Dry is actually a pretty shit and forgettable song outside of DON'T LOSE YOUR WAY.
There's a reason that's pretty much the only part of the song that showed up in the show.
>you will never be granted the incredible privilege of having Satsuki-sama sit on your face
Mako was my least favorite part of the show (She was literally meme humor) but she redeemed herself simply by being around Gamagori(sp?) and making him kawaii as hell.
Because best boy and best girl are two in one.
What about best theme?
I want a day at the beach with her
I would like an update on the characters and how she's handling REVOCS and what she's done with it. Probably dismantled it and formed something new
How many Ryukos are in your Ryuko folder, /a/?
You could have just said you wanted more Satsuki, anon
Zero. This is the only picture I have of KLK that isn't Gamagoori related.
>Over 5,700 still waiting sorting.
>MFW never enough time.
I have way more Satsuki.
Used pixiv downloader to grab every single one of her via various names off of there combined with tons of stuff off of Deviantart, tumblr and more
How do you sort them anon?
>highlight all pictures
>rename one to "ryuko"
>rest are automatically renamed
I guess I should seperate my cutes from my cools from my lewds, though. Also, wouldn't mind seeing some of your rarest Ryuukos.
Was going by artist compilations.
An Ryuko folder really needs redoing by outfit really. Both crossovers and Lewds have their own directory out of the Ryuko folder. Statistically there is some overlap in there somewhere I'd guess.
Rarest on hand would be the shitty hand drawn stuff for my write fagging, as pretty much none of that exists on anything other than paper.
Actual material would be the occasional gifs people made.
Is this the most boneriffic babe anime has ever created?
Is it true that this show has some extremely generic symbolism? I saw a review that said it's just a critique of fucking capitalism/ social segregation/ consumerism and shit and it's been completely putting me off.
It started as one but somewhere in the middle it completely forgot what it was doing and everything kinda fell apart. So there is no real message. They desperately tried to make some kind of point in the final episode but the attempt failed and it made no sense. Some people have overanalyzed the series and found a lot of religious symbolism but it's all completely irrelevant and doesn't play into anything.
The writing is absolute garbage, from terrible characters with the depth of a puddle to the horrible mess of a plot. The animation was almost flash tier. OST, while being ok has the same song horribly overused. Bad visual directing and directing in general. It's absolute trash. 1/10, I give it a 2 at best.
>tfw you've run out of KLK hentai
>tfw you've experienced it all
I want to make romance Nui and hold hands with her
I'm so sorry to hear you brain doesn't work.
Who's up for some tea?
It would make Satsuki sama pleased.
Can anyone come up with a clever yara yare daze line for her?
The best part of it was when Kotaku retarded jurno freaked out because >muh anime glorifies slitting wrists
being a gaijin in feminist west is suffering but sometimes really, really amusing.
it was pretty bad desu everything looked lazily made compare to Gurren lagann, panty and stocking etc. the plot wasnt motivating at all. Mako was fucking annoying as shit.
KLK was cute. Ryuko and Senketsu were cute. Satsuki was cool. Supporting cast were quirky. Art direction and voice acting were way above par. Animation was sub par but it's fine, the action seemed pretty secondary.
I feel like we have this discussion every day.
Originals like KLK are so rare with the lack of creativity in today's anime so it was really great to watch apart from the dog shit ending.
That actually sounds like a wonderful idea. I'll get some going.
The metaphor of fate as a thread becoming real and worn by young adults. Clothing as a purpose - being one with your fate (don't lose your way) symbolized by the confidence to become naked in your clothes leading to great power. This drives the pieces of a drama between a family who sits atop the social pyramid, and a hot blooded mysteruous transfer student.
KLK didn't have any wasted potential. It went far beyond its potential in fact.
F91 didn't have any wasted potential either, I don't know why you'd even use that as an example. It was the same shit as any other Gundam, but forced into a 2 hour movie instead of a 50 episode waste of time, which actually made it great.
It was actually anime, including KLK that got me into drinking tea, but my tastes quickly turned English rather than Jap. I guess that makes me more like Ms. Integra than mai waifu, but w/e.
You didn't take away other habits like meditation?
That's what really struck me about KLK. Calm spirituality. Although tea in itself is meditation if we follow Satsuki sama's lead.
Nope, it's nothing like LoK. You've got no idea what you're talking about.
E7:AO is the LoK of anime. Highly anticapated sequel to something that was successful but completely murdered by its incompetent writing.
They said what tea Satsuki drinks officially, I don't remember exactly but I think it was an English one.
It's pretty comedic sometimes
