This fight was perfect. Seijuro was still alot more skilled than him, but Takezo had steeled his mind in his journey
Index has some top tier fights, but they all fucking come from beyond the end of the anime.
You can't be serious, of all his fights you this this garbage one was good?
>cartoons and comics aimed at children and otaku are so much better than books aimed at children and otaku xD
Not even him, but holy shit this unwarranted elitism. Anime and Manga are not any better written in general.
Everything with Kumagawa is good.
Roshinu fight in Berserk was pretty great.
At that point it's a pretty bold statement to say that Seijuro was more skilled than Musashi, let alone "a lot more".
But the fight was great, that's true.
>am I strong yet?
Never get tired of that fight. The movie is so well done.
No, not really. Books can have significantly better fights depending on the flow of the narrative and the reader's imagination. Visual media leave almost nothing to the imagination.
It felt to me like the point of the scene was that Seijuro was more skilled while Musashi had a stronger mind because of his meeting with Inei and Yagyuu.
Then Seijuro bet it all on one strike, and the burden of being the Yoshioka prodigy fucked him up. He wasn't spiritually strong enough
Index? Manga is behind the anime. Anime ends before vol 14 of the novels, but read vol 6's epilogue, vol 13's epilogue, and SS1 ch3 before starting on 14. See pic for reading order. 2 and 3 (SP and Norse SS) are optional, but best read before starting on NT. All the other side stories can be read whenever.
this whole fight was just so fucking hype week after week.
Beelzebub had a ton of fight scenes, but this was my favorite.
Ending of new waves had some pretty good fights. It's a fucking shame part 3 never
>looking for a fightscene
I will never stop being mad about this.
I'm on a bit of a high for this series right now but still
Son of Ogre is entirely top tier fights with both top tier art and meaningful reasons to fight
Reading through the second half of the series was worth just for this fight alone.
Too many good fights in Breaker, no fair
I mean that kind of depends what part of it you're calling the fight scene, just the end of the volume like you have pictured was alright but not amazing, it was more the mental battle beforehand trying to break him that was good.
Really wish the series kept it's tone from the begining.
Very few manga have panel composition good enough to surpass even mediocre anime adaptations.
Blade Of The Immortal and Blame are one of those few, and unsurprisingly enough not a single post until now has mentioned either of them. /a/ proven yet again it has fucking garbage taste is just about everything.
Last week one
Quit bitching and post them yourself faggot.
Blame! is my favorite manga of all time.
Blade of the immortal isn't very good though
9AD turned into "dark edgy" trope towards the end but I liked it because that's something we were waiting for throughout the entire series. Him to begin fucking shit up en masse.
>the plot got kind of wonky
And Hilter wasn't particularly fond of jews.
You're talking about a series where Obama's personality is transferred into the body of a Japanese schoolgirl because a pair of roller-skates downloaded his mind onto the internet. "A bit wonky" doesn't cut it.
The jose and Joe fight was probably my favorite with Carlos being second.
>Very few manga have panel composition good enough to surpass even mediocre anime adaptations.
This is totally wrong. The overwhelming majority of anime adaptions have no understanding of momentum or weight. They blindly try to replicate the manga without appreciating that that the illusion of momentum in manga is totally different from the illusion of momentum in animation.
The whole last 3 volumes were great and the fight/struggle against himself whether to keep attacking K2 for summit or to Bail and Rap down.
Mindfucked by Joe.
I've always liked Vinland Saga's fights, to bad the series has turned to shits.
Starts of good in the first 80 or so chapters only to pull the rug under the readers feet and turn the main character into a boring pacifist who's only way to redemtion is to take as many asswhopings as he possibly can.
It's very good up to that point, just stop reading when you get to Farmville.
To be fair
>/a/ - Anime & Manga
Index started the whole LN discussion here and nothing positive has come from it since.
That and also the fight with Sleipnir were both 10/10
Best fight of the whole series, except for maybe Lenalee vs Eshi.
To anyone curious, no not all the fights in Ippo are like this. Aoki (the guy on the left) is the comedic relief in the show and this entire fight was comedy gold.
I may not have been around from the start but I'm pretty sure LNs have been around on /a/ before Index, and even if not they've been here for the 6+ years I've been dicking around on /a/, they're enough a part of the board.
Whole manga had amazing panels and his artstyle augments them.
The villain was shitty, but the fight was awesome and all the attacks spectacular
None of these are even remotely good fights, especially not Shirou vs Berserker which was pure fucking garbage. The only reason you think it's good is because Emiya was playing. The only actual fight(not interrupted in the middle because Nasu cannot write for shit) worth a damn in either is the end of HF.
>We went from tsukihime to this
What the fuck happened
There's no mad there though. You're just extremely desperate and thinking that throwing random insults justifies your shit taste and fanboy behavior. It's very common in that fanbase.
I don't know, but speaking of which, Tsukihime manga is the GOAT.
I disagree entirely. >>136345087 has it right. It's actually rare when I see a fight that lives up to how exciting I thought it was when I read it. Having to slow down the pacing to allow for speaking is part of the problem - you can gloss over that shit MUCH quicker while reading.
The final fight in Scryed is up there for me. Especially the last part where they run out of power and just start wailing on each other, that kind of unrefined brutality is a breath of fresh air compared to most anime fights in which everything feels staged because it's too clean and choreographed.
this manga has no business being as hype as it is.
well fuck me that's what I get for not reading the thread. May as well post the follow-up then.
Acqua is the most based index character. All of his fights were great.
Nrvnqsr's fight was certainly my favorite in the VN. Interesting concepts, the world's biggest zoo versus the concept slicer.
there's a lot going wrong with this post. From assumptions about the previous poster's intent, to assumptions about how the manga industry works, and general misunderstanding of dragonball as a franchise, not to mention just plain lack of taste.
To put it simply - the Dragonball manga is pretty good. Has some dumb plot points, and when it's playing things for serious instead of for fun those dumb things stand out more. But the action is consistently great.
The anime ruins a lot of good things from the manga, and adds in a whole host of other problems.
It doesn't have anything to do with the imaginary Dragonball vs DBZ split.
Except for the retarded toe-spinning, this was a really great fight. Loved how they each modified their techniques and strategy as the fight went on.
dragonball is one of the more faithful adaptations of a manga i have seen, really the only part i can remember as filler was the stop over in doctor slup world and the pre goku getting tall segment, neither of which were bad.
i cant remember off the top of my head if they anime skipped over parts that were in the manga or not.
as for my dragonball z part, it has nothing to do with the imagery, it's the fact they padded it the fuck out because they caught up with the manga, some padding is good, goku learning to drive, gohan in school was a bit extended, but most of it sucked dick, and the worst of it was when they made the fights take for fucking ever due to the padding... seriously, if you ever watch dbz have a skip button set for 5 seconds, 10 seconds and 1 minute, you will set, not that you will use anything but the 1 minute for most of the time.
Thing is, it has nothing to do with the DB/DBZ jump. That's just fucking made-up and the concept only exists in the West. In japan it's just all "Dragonball". And yeah, the anime sucks because filler and Toei. And the filler exists because it caught up, but it could have caught up at any time - halfway through the Red Ribbon arc, during the Android Saga, etc.
It's like arbitrarily saying that One Piece should be divided between One Piece, and One Piece Z at the point when they started doing filler arcs, which was around Alabasta.
I'd say about 30 chapters or so for the characters to really get set down and it starts being consistently riotously funny. The first "serious" arc would be the Benizakura arc, and I forget when that happened - I wanna say 110 or so? But Gintama is both humor and serious shit, so if you aren't drawn in by one of those, then just don't bother.
but the fucking thing is it didn't.
dragonball, as in pre saiyan anime was good, and a relatively faithful adaptation, if you liked the manga, pick up dragonball, give dbz a shot too, it didn't get bad till namek in the amount of fight padding and after that out right filler, have a macro pad or controller mapped to 5 and 10 second jumps with 1 minute jump and you will be good to go.
It's been years now and I'm still not over just how much this series blew it's fucking potential. The only other comparable thing in Gantz when it comes to just how much the author lost the plot half way through. Such a shame because the early chapters are absolutely brilliant and it has some amazing battles and panels.
And it never dropped off after that
You're an idiot. >>136335697 this is already kind of mediocre and not nearly as exciting as the manga. There's no reason to watch budget shonen anime from the 80's anymore, especially when the superior and still-enjoyable manga exists.
I've watched the entirity of Dragonball, because I'm not underage like you. I grew up with that shit. The manga is better, consistently. There's also no point in differentiating between DB and DBZ. It's an arbitrary distinction. It's not even like One Piece or Naruto where they made a big fucking deal out of the timeskip - it was actually the 2nd timeskip for DB, and it happened in a single chapter, with no break or hullabaloo.
ill give you that i honestly thought that the anime took a year or more off, but apparently dragonball ended and dbz began the same year...
a distinction between the two... sense you read it all and watched it all, i have to call you the biggest retard i have so far met on this site.
can you honestly tell me the story had even close to the same time after that time skip? sure it had the same characters but the tone throughout was never the same again.
some of the filler in dbz was the same tone, but no, its not even close.
You mean after the first time-skip? When Piccolo Jr. was introduced? Yeah, that was the beginning of the end of DB being a gag manga. Though it returned to form a bit during the Buu arc. Also Hercule in general.
It's called a slow shift and it happens in many manga, it wasn't just a sudden change.
actually the Black*Star vs Mifune round 2 is the best fight in the manga, but I don't have any pages of that on hand right now.
>not embracing your inner edge
yes I know I'm a spic, can't choose where you were born
this manga has a trash story and characters, but the fights are great.
Fuck Battle Royale. It's bullshit he survived this.
The entire finale was a fucking rollercoaster, and I loved it
Yumekui Merry is severely underrated as a battle manga, it's got more than just vagina bones.
shut the fuck up faggot
Everybody knows there is no distinction in the manga. It's not a big deal to separate the anime's db and dbz. Get the fuck over it.
I can't stand manga nerds. They can never shut up about "muhh manga is superior."
You gotta hand it to Akamatsu-sensei, he can write some pretty hype battles scenes.
His SOL is great but I think he really hit his stride when he went battle-shonen
I love the anime.
Should have made a sound version of this one as well.
Here is another with sound.
How did I fuck up this badly by still being in one of my doujin folders.
Anime? Looks pretty quality to me.
>edgy as fuck lol!
I love how Shikifags will mock characters like Sasuke, then rave about shit like this.
Emiya didn't even play during the Kiritsugu/Kirei fight
I will admit that he was rather interesting with his power and whatnot, but he was just a throwaway villain. Even vento became relevant again, even if it was for a short while.
This was a simple and short battle, but with everything that occurred before this moment and with so much on the line, it was an entirely intense moment.
Should also mention some new chapters were recently posted.
They got bored so they ended NW and are taking a two year break. Conclusion never.
The hypest fight of that year and you all know it.
At least it's better than Veritas never being finished. Well hopefully this gets done.
Miyata losing his shit.
More of a great moment than battle though
I have to ask, is this any good?
i forget the name of the manga, but every now and then when i search for new ones it pops up but something about it always makes me not bother reading it.
Ok the first time you read this you can't tell me you were not hype as fuck. Still one of my all time favorites. But yea it's even better with the music and the context of them fleeing for so long and the sacrifice aftewards. And Illya's reaction.
Best power up battle ever, felt like Negi really got to that level and didn't cheat. One of my favorite mini arcs ever.
Hype doesn't mean it's a good fight. And as I said, it was solely because Emiya was playing in the background. Without it nobody would give a single fuck about the fight, except maybe Frodo for pointing out how bullshit it is.
Why is the current arc so shit /a/? Toriko used the manga i looked most foward to each week. Now I just speed read a new chapter when I am bored.
It's probably influenced by the visceral dislike of the opponent.
I think OPM and AoT did a pretty good job of translating their fights into animated form from their manga.
Are you kidding? That fight was fucking shit. Musashi won out of random reflex, not skill. It was a complete bore and disappointment. Hell, every fight except the Mace guy and that guy with the spear were shit. Even the Musashi versus 70 guys was meh as fuck.
At least webm files allow for easy source finding anon.
I make sure that the title of the source is always in the metadata of the file so that people can find it.
>[Doki] No. 6 - 01v2 (1280x720 h264 BD AAC)
He's right though. I love the original Tokyo Ghoul and some of the fights were interesting at best, but none were exceptional or anything like that, after all TG isn't good about the action. That fight in particular was just bad, anon.
>inb4 warau ishi will be the next big thing
not a battle scene but still great
It amazes me that Miura was able to capture Guts' pain when he's in that armor. He's a fucking master.
