See, here's what I honestly don't understand about Kazuya.

Why, after becoming a child again, does he not attempt to get his life in order for real with the foreknowledge he's gathered as a 30 year old? He's already graduated school once - this is all review for him now, and this time he can just blow his studies out of the water and become a child prodigy now that he knows so much more about the world than any kid rightfully should. He could be skipping grades, if he wanted, and using his foreknowledge of the future to take advantage of events he already knows are going to happen (well, he actually does do this, but not in a broad sense - like remembering to invest in successful companies and shit when he's old enough).

Or he could take it easy and live life with all the advantages someone with +30 years of knowledge would have. He could improve his drawing skills as a child and use all of his free time to become actually talented. He could manipulate lolis into falling head over heals with him without even actually needing to rape them. He could eat healthier and exercise and maybe not grow up to be so fat. He could avoid all the mistakes that led him to his previously difficult and painful life. By the time he's 30 again, he'll have the knowledge of a 60 year old!

Kazuya was nothing but a vengeful spirit, a karmic punishment in the form of a man turned into a monster by his childhood, coming back to haunt those same children. However his actions in doing so also produced a vengeful spirit set on thwarting him, effectively canceling his actions out entirely.

In short, the story is about how absurd the idea of karma is, this is both shown in the content of the story with Kazuya getting away with increasingly fucked up actions, the fact he never truly receives retribution, and how the biggest fag of all (Kyou) gets away relatively unharmed in every single instance. Kazuya's narration also breaks the general ideal of children being innocent by showing how they were the ones to plant the seeds of destruction in his life, or be slaves to sexual desire such as in Ikumi's case.

Overall it was an excellent series. Very unique, very concise, and a take on the "second chance at life" type story that isn't just blatant wish-fulfillment fantasy. You're all gigantic fucking plebeians if you're too absorbed in celebrating or admonishing the protagonist's actions to appreciate the actual story content. It's fiction, faggots.

Well it's not that unusual for a story that more or less runs on the message of "there is no justice in the world" to rail against religion. The general concept of karma is heavily associated with religion.

Also note when I say "karma" I'm not specifically referring to it in a religious context, I'm just referring to the generalized concept of universal accountability for ones actions administered on a supernatural basis.

This is the same guy that, as a 32 year old man, found himself incapable of standing up to the 12 year old bully from his childhood. It's not unusual that the idea that he could seriously harm, let alone murder, that same bully wouldn't register to him mentally.

That moment was actually a huge turning point for Kazuya as a character, as his unintentional killing of the bully showed him that he actually COULD change his situation (whereas immediately prior he was trapped in a spiral of helplessness) and erased his inhibitions, allowing him to commit all the acts he does from that point forward, including raping Anna.
