This show was surprisingly enjoyable. Disappointed I dropped it when Kaitou did and missed out on the threads. It had some awkward scenes at times, ps1 CG, and suffered from some one-note characters but overall I thought it was pretty great. It's even got a second season coming and a game, anyone else excited? How was it received during it's airing? I'm sure a lot of people made fun of it.
Also Arslan and the soldier girl are cute.
>It's even got a second season coming and a game, anyone else excited?
I thought it bombed. At least all the threads died quickly.
>I thought it bombed.
It had a prime time TV slot--I don't think BD sales were the goal but it was around 3/4k. Ended up with a lot of boosted sales for Arakawa's manga too, so I guess it worked out.
The threads were pretty decent despite not lasting too long or having all that much activity. Looking forward to S2 though.
That's a shame. I thought the top tier trap and reverse trap would pull in some people at the very least.
The second season and game come out sometime this year. There's a demo out for the game now, I've downloaded it but have not played it and haven't heard if it's good or not either.
>Ended up with a lot of boosted sales for Arakawa's manga too
Isn't that hopelessly far behind? Who would even read it?
>That's a shame. I thought the top tier trap and reverse trap would pull in some people at the very least.
I think it never got popular on /a/ because it's too straight for the board: the two traps cancel each other out.
I want her to become Queen Arslan.
Is DENKA still the high point of S1? I dropped out by ep18 and wonder if it's worth catching up.
Yeah, I gave up on fansubs and just downloaded the funi rips. We live in dark times, anon. Just gotta make sure to download the 1080p and fix the funi endorsed colors™.
I watched this last week, my thoughts were that it was a massive waste of good funding for what was simply a terrible script.
The plot wasn't just unoriginal and boring but it had the depth of what you might expect a child to come up with. It tries to portray deep tactical intelligence multiple times during the show but when you really think about it, none of it makes any sense. For instance when he decides to march his army to fight the war in the other kingdom, it was ridiculous.
No I mean that Funimation ruins things the more they touch them so you can't trust them to downscale anything, even if the show is produced at 720p. You can fix the colors through either the player or graphics card settings I think, although mine just werks.
>people dick each other?
Unless you're talking about gay stuff
Does Alfreed win the narsus?
Nobody claims it's mature or deep. We watch it for the cute.
>this is supposed to be a picture of someone dicking
Nigga, I'm still salty Ed left for the orient without devouring Winry's viginity.
Silver Spoon even worse. Kids watch animals fuck all day long for education. Yet act like freshman playing grab-ass.
Dude, arslan is a fantasy logh
And let's not forget the official novel artwork of arslan, made by fucking amano
this guys is arslan, not the fucking trap
The anime adaptations a bit rubbish
The manga is better, but in general Arslan has a different tone from LOGH, which is only natural considering it's like 25% a fantasy story where people get into sword fights in the desert instead of sitting on the bridge of a capital ship taking pot shots at the other guys across the void of space
>supposed to be
You wanted it. I do not recall it being advertised as such.
It's a pretty simple and standard plot of boy becomes king. I don't know why it needs to be the next LOGH. Sounds like you're just buttmad it's not pandering exclusively to your wants and needs.
If you're that interested in the bone zone, maybe you should read a shoujo manga? This is and Fullmetal Alchemist are adventure manga, and Silver Spoon is an agriculture entrepreneurship comedy
Shoujo manga doesn't have much fucking as you think, it's mostly all josei.
Seinen is the men's equivalent of the Josei demographic, yet we get substantially less fucking.
Going on a journey and fucking under the stars seems like a realistic thing when you could die literally any day.
fucking asexual neutered chinks totally crush any sort of adventure feeling that you get with classic adventure tales and literature.
this show was total and utter mediocrity
These are comics that run in kids magazines though
Well, kids through teens, considering Aku no Hana, but even if teens are super obsessed with sex you don't necessarily market it to them
Damn well Bessatsu Shounen Magazine is right inbetween the blueball zone of ecchi magazines and the anything goes lifestyle of seinen magazines.
Not a big fan of how their editors work.
I fucking loved it when it was airing couldn't get enough of it, All of the characters were great and the story was too.
I really can't wait for S2 one of my favorite shows from last year.
I really enjoy war dramas and I'm happy someone else feels similar, but it's too bad you're a baka tripfag. Now I want to die.
I don't hate the anime, but...
A lot of characterization is skipped out on for the sake of covering a certain amount of the story in the episode alottment they had. I understand wanting to choose a good point to end the story at, considering they would run out of manga material to adapt, but as it stands it's not a great adaptation of either the manga or the novels.
The production values are a bit rubbish. I realize animating an old time anime with armies of dudes running around on horseback and shit is hard, but that's no excuse for doing a half assed job.
A big part of Arakawa's take on Arslan in the manga is that it humanizes everyone in that way she has, but a lot of that is lost with the anime, so instead you get a bunch of flat portraits of the characters like you would see in a middling video game adaptation instead.
> because they can't understand the keikaku of Narsus
It's the other way around, the only people who think this anime has a good plot are the ones who are incapable of thinking for themselves.
I can see where you're coming from. Maybe because I never read the manga or novel I enjoyed it a lot more as a not adaptation. I thought the show had problems when I was watching but your reasons seem different than mine.
I enjoyed the show but it was pretty annoying how it felt that Arslan had pretty much everything handed to him since his allies were OP as fuck. Farangis walking out in the center of an arrow bombardment and not getting hit because of literal plot armor was pretty bullshit.
