Kuudere is a valid archetype, it's just that westerners tend to misunderstand it to mean emotionless, when it just means being "cool" (in the cool-headed sense of the word) and affectionate. Dandere is also a word defined by the Japanese, but it's not used as much and is more of an after the fact definition, as in, no one sits down to make a dandere character, but when you define it you can recognize a lot of characters who fit the definition.

But yeah, beyond those, it's mostly just westerners who think you can put dere behind a word and make up a new archetype.
