imagine thinking Madhouse isn't the best anime studio of this decade
You seem to know an awful lot about /v/ and not an awful lot about /a/ there, anon.
Studio wars have been a thing for a long time. Hell, the shaft/kyoani rivalry has probably been on /a/ longer than you have,

The best studio of every decade is Sunrise.
In the 70s they made a little series called Gundam, you may have heard of it.
In the 80s they brought us many timeless classics such as Legendary Giant Ideon, Armored Trooper Votoms, City Hunter, more Gundam, several of the best animated OVAs to ever exist, and much more.
With the 90s they created some of what westerns consider the best anime ever made, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and The Big O
In the 2000s Sunrise gave birth to anime Jesus, creating the best selling anime ever. They also made some of /a/'s most beloved anime, Code Geass, Planetes, My-HiME, Gintama,
2010s: Love Live. Enough said.
If you're talking about anime original TV series or movies then nothing noteworthy. Death Parade and the hunter x hunter movies are trash compared to the things the produced back before they got bankrupt.
They are so inconsistent.
DMC was shit, CCS was pretty good from what I remember, and Tatami Galaxy was great.
The guys behind Aria arent consistent either. Given they made S3 of Yuru yuri.
Only thing off the top of my head of exceptional quality is Tatami Galaxy. I'm certain there's more but I can't think of anything right now. Did they do any big movies in the 10s? Was that Katabuchi film 09 or 10? That was very good.
I always give "studio of the decade" honours to Kyoani just because, despite there being some shitty shows in there, they've produced a number of high quality works as well. Not any of this bullshit means anything, I'd rather talk about the best director or animator of the decade. Personifying studios is fallacious.
They're shit you fucking retard.
Reminder Madhouse promised Satoshi Kon they'd finish his final film The Dreaming Machine but lied to him and never pursued it after his death. This was the reason Maruyama left to start MAPPA because he got fed up with those greedy lying jews at Madhouse.
KyoAni is the only studio with morals left in this industry.
Ping Pong, OPM, Kaiji S2, Parasyte, HxH2011, Tatami Galaxy. But yeah, their quality is kinda lowering, since they made so many trash shows like Mahouka, Mahou Sensou, Btoom!, Highschool of the Dead, NGNL.
Here are their good post 2010 shows
>Diamond no Ace
And possibly Prince of Stride
You don't care because you're an ignorant and casual "studio fanboy" who probably didn't even know of the incident I'm referring to until I just told you.
There's something to be said about the state of the studio when one of its original founders would rather leave and start another new studio rather than stay around the shitshow it's become.
Popular and on everyone's top lists of the year/season perhaps, but it was far from good. It's like people ignored all of its flaws because it was pretty and had a great OP.
They should have just left it at Death Billiards because when they tried to "explain" everything in Death Parade the world and its lore just fell apart.
I don't care because watching anime is my hobby, not stupid studio drama or VA drama or whatever. I care about the shows they make, not if the director is fucking the animator's wife, or if two guys on the team were osananajimi and had a falling out or whatever other bullshit drama there might be, I don't fucking care.
Butchered so bad I felt bad for the author.
Skipped content and butchered so many characters during its last season that aired.
Wasted potential. Sometimes more isn't good. Death billiards was enough.
>Reminder Madhouse promised Satoshi Kon they'd finish his final film The Dreaming Machine but lied to him and never pursued it after his death. This was the reason Maruyama left to start MAPPA because he got fed up with those greedy lying jews at Madhouse.
Stop spewing shit you fucking retard, Satoshi himself wasn't able to gather the required funds yet since he said it would be expensive as fuck
>Modernizes the setting which destroys the 80's charm
>Changes Shinichi's character to a wimpy asshole and gives him glasses.
Are you sure anon? There's more if you need to know.
So why arent you complaining the Touhou anime isnt all done in Zun's artstyle?
Well the funds were already set aside for the film when Satoshi Kon was alive, but Madhouse pulled it all when he died even though Maruyama (then at the time Madhouse president) told him he'd finish it. Of course I don't blame him for not being able to gather the funds since he had to start over with a new studio, but it does show you the other heads at Madhouse were the reason that film was put on hold. A direct quote from Maruyama: "[he founded MAPPA to] make new shows that we wouldn't have been able to make at Madhouse." really shows you that place is creatively bankrupt these days.
No, actually it's not okay. Everyone ignored the glaring flaws of Death Parade and placed it on a pedestal because it was unique, watchable and slightly better than anything else that was airing at the time.
>It's supposed to be shit
So all that QUALITY in Higurashi was just an artistic choice on DEEN's side of things. Amazing.
wat? I'm specifically talking about Ping Pong you fucking mong. Read the manga, or at least look at the pictures. Put two and two together. Notice how they look the same. Then kill yourself.
>Love Live sellouts
Nah look at this thread. Kyoani fans atleast know what's going on at that studio.
Madhouse "fans" have no clue and when confronted with facts like Madhouse leaving Kon's final film unfinished or the founder leaving the studio they start covering their ears and yelling "I don't care".
>They had such a shitty 2015
Don't forget they co-produced AotY 2015.
I like Madhouse purely because they're quite adept at a pretty wide variety of different things, and for the most part they do a good job of it.
The problem is that barring exceptional cases for whatever reason, they usually don't do a stand-out amazing job of it like some studios like Sunrise or Kyoani have the capacity to do, nor the flair teams like SHAFT or Trigger have.
