Just who is this dashing man?
He faces stiff competition:
>Makabe's asshole older brother
Say NO to Katia bullying today!
Bullying is reserved for Theo only
Anyone who bullies her besides master kun gets penetrated
Katia is reserve for headpatting and ahoge brushing, no bully.
Sorry, did you say anything? I didn't hear you
I want to tease Katia with Pham!
Did the PC release elaborate on Theo's present day intentions?
Jesus fucking christ I hope he stops doing that
Who wants to have a fun chat about politics with this totally harmless gentleman?
She's a combat clone, what purpose would they serve?
What would an evening with Chobi and Venus be like?
What a slut.
I'd rape her again for hurting Katia.
Stella is the only Maburabu to do the ara ara in the anime for Muv-Luv. I think maybe a total of five times in TE.
It's Muv-Luv so everyone dying and all that is fully part of the experience but I wish it was slightly less grimdark with the Stasi stuff, not that East Germany was exactly a rose garden and would be much less of one in wartime but I can't take Ketchup seriously as a villain. His brand of evil is just too silly.
Such a shame to. Her ara aras are delicious.
Just click on her stomach to realize what we're missing from the anime.
I was very drunk when I watched the episode this morning. I don't really recall the opening.
>Stasi chick face
Two perfect semen demons in one picture.
they better not kill both of them in the same episode
Annette is cute! I want to cuddle her and tell her everything is going to be alright.
Cookie told the writer to go full ham, and he did. Add in Japanese misconceptions about the DDR, communism and the Stasi in general and this what you get.
I just read the wiki article. It sounds like its in the muv-luv universe but probably not really related to that story.
I like grimdark "schlock" this should be good.
"Pretty straight forward villains."
Yup, sounds about right.
Anime's pretty grim. VN is too, but not too the extent of the anime.
I just can't into Muv-Luv though. The relationship stuff just doesn't appeal to me. This military mech stuff sounds great however.
>Hey guys I think we should work together!
Pham knows kung fu. She just waited for the right opportunity. Stasi girl get's disarmed, but Pham didn't take her knife away. Sad thing about the stasi girl was that she'd been so indoctrinated that she threw her life away despite Kurt, Katia, and Pham not really wanting to kill her.
So she could have lived if she just stayed put after getting disarmed?
Now I'm sad.
Heroine arguments on the second page.
>Gretel should've been Heroine
>Sylwia's the cutest
>She wasn't even included in the heroine posters
>The best heroine is clearly Beatrix (with a picture of BiS Beato)
>Has Katia pissed her suit yet
I'd smuggle her to the West, if you know what I mean.
>Annette is cute! I want to cuddle her and tell her everything is going to be alright.
>Sylwia's the cutest
What is this shit taste?
Can't wait to add the Schwarzeneggers to the XCOM2 character pool.
Mein tovarisch. Criminally underrated.
Do you know what happens to her in the end?
>Do you know what happens to her in the end?
Another anon said she survives
Why is is a West German wearing Japanese school swimsuit in East Germany?
After the Lyon hive push I suppose. There's not that many hive in Europe so clearing the continent should be quite quick once Lyon fall. Taking Russia back would be hell though, but it also mean that the USSR will have the most hives to exploit, assuming there's no redrawing of borders by the US.
I think I'm going to like Pham.
This is as shitty an adaption as it feels like, right? Fuck man, I want to read the VN so bad, instead I get this, which appears passable at best. At least with Utaware2mono I'm blissfully ignorant, but here I feel like I can tell which parts they cut, like the battle at the beginning. Will the VN be translated?
I'd teach Pham the benefits of capitalism and freedom with guts, you betcha.
Praise the lord.
Everyone loves big Vietnamese titties.
Can any kind anon care to provide a TL? All I can figure out is she seems jealous of a woman.
Do VNs ever get good adaptations? From what I can tell the medium is hard to adapt to anime without losing a lot. That and there is a lot of division between anime and VN fans.
Maybe the million bucks the KS for the original trilogy got? Thats just naive hope though
My experience is that the only VN with a good anime adaption is S;G, but thats just secondhand since I read it like 3 months before the anime started so I didn't watch it. Its a straightforward narrative though, so it'd make sense that it'd be easy to make a good anime out of it.
>Everyone loves big Vietnamese titties.
I don't usually like cowtits, but Pham is ok in my books. Also get rid of that scan.
It's either an island, separated from baters by sea or protected by a narrow choke point so not really impressive. Though I find it amusing that Japan is the only island that managed to fuck up their defense bad enough to lose ground and even get 2 hives established on it.
>Praise the lord.
Have some more Anett.
>Do you treasure that woman that much!?
Subconscious desire to get her mouth around her brother.
Thought so. Oh well, maybe its better this way. Sometimes having ero scenes just for the sake of them makes the story much less interesting. Plus, its not like this won't generate a ton of porn anyway.
My knowledge of the propaganda machine is a tad shoddy, but are the commies completely retarded?
Instead of projecting an image of a united front against the Ayy, they have the secret police actively stamping down on people who see the two countries as allies? So now their entire army is being told that they're essentially completely surrounded by the enemy with no hope of victory. What the hell.
So can I watch this? Or should I go through everything MuvLuv that has come before first?
I tend to go production order, unless Schwarzesmarken is only very loosely connected with the stuff that has come before.
Fucking slut, I'd teach Sylwia a lesson, if you know what I mean.
Katia is for safe keepings.
It's just the writing. Cookie wanted full grimdark, and that means idiocy. Don't ever apply ML to real life.
Schwartz's connection with other works is as loose as the Silmarillion's connection with LOTR. It talks about historical events that do not directly impact the characters and stories of other entries.
Just because war broke out against a big threat you think the russians would just play nice with the allies? Really?
You can watch this just fine. From what i've read in the LN's and watched so far, you can have a fine experience with the show itself though you may be left with some questions about the universe, the answers to which lies in the main trilogy and spin-offs.
It's the same setting at least. Though given my impressions of this so far and what I've heard from others, it's fairly weak in comparison to the other works. I'd suggest you start reading the main trilogy now. That way if it's a pain for you to get through Extra (ie if your a fag) then you can still get your mecha fightan fix while watching this.
No, but what the governments actually think of each other is one thing. What you're telling the troops is another.
Your propaganda is useless if all you're doing is demoralizing the one thing that's standing between you and a messy death.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that maybe they think if their own troops get too friendly with the imperialists they would be more likely to abandon their posts and defect
You just don't get the cold war paranoia from that era do you? I mean do the words red scare mean anything?
The paranoia of the Cold War was in the context of peacetime, when the US and the USSR's biggest enemies were each other and each had the incentive to wipe the other out with nuclear fire. There is no such situation here, where it is in each other's interests to keep the other alive and the main threat is ayy lmaos.
>I'd suggest you start reading the main trilogy now. That way if it's a pain for you to get through Extra (ie if your a fag) then you can still get your mecha fightan fix while watching this.
I'm fine with both moe and mecha, so that won't be a problem.
Any tips on where to acquire isos etc? Sukebei only seems to have well seeded torrents for Alternative.
>Implying the divide between russia and the allies already didn't exist before the war start when germany signed a nonaggression pact with russia.
And the only reason russia even bothered entering the allies was because they just could afford to fight the world at the time especially once germany invaded they had no choice in the matter.
The would be realistic but this is fiction after all and it does make the story more interesting if humanity is separated by ideal. However even if this is fiction nuclear bombs I'm sure are still a threat to both sides in this reality. At the end of the day my opinion is that the literary device is fine I'm just worried its going to be executed poorly and just make the guys at the top in both militaries just look like exaggerated military assholes. Time will tell I guess.
>I crossed a river, I met an American soldier, although I could not understand what he was saying, I felt this man was my brother. And I think, he felt the same
Why is this acceptable?
You will never beat and rape Sylwia as vengeance.
Why even enlist?
>not wanting to praise and headpat Sylvia for beating the shit out of the moeblob
control your shit taste
The music in this scene was great. It is using the VN's music, no?
Someone has a link to the OST?
She really has shown her best side this episode.
Homussar protects her team by the authority of the political commissariat, even the new dirty Wessie.
I teared up a bit. She's just so good.
I'm still struggling to decide whether to waifu her or Pham, the rest is too shit
Despite being a political officer, she seems to be the most trustworthy member of the entire 666th.
At least she is following the rules to the letter - unlike the Stasi or their informants.
I want to have menage a trois with Pham and Annette.
Fuck off commies, hope your waifu gets raped. Again.
If you want to waifu her, you need to file in the paperwork to the ministry of waifu-affairs.
But Gretel is a nice girl, she will prepare that for you.
Bullying is now officially allowed.
I really hate characters like katia.
>innocent and useless
>needs proctection 24/7
>gets team in trouble everytime because why not
>wins mc in the end
Why the fuck would I watch a series where I know how it will end?
im not even reading ln/vn either way they fucking appear everywhere in any series
As expected of a MiG.
Basically radical sadists took over the historical Stasi in a coup and in effect made it Gestapo (or Gestasi). Real Stasi was really much more subtle and fucked over people with the little things (even managing to ruin your life without you being aware you were being targeted). It also appears that the anime SM Stasi is even more edgy and evil than in LN and VN.
I don't see the problem with the eagle
Why couldn't they just use the actual symbol of the Stasi?
Than why not go with the Shield and Sword of the party symbol?
Dat Taktische Oberfläche[n] Jäger, mmmhm.
Thank you Anon, have some TSFs.
>Commie states avoided all the old heraldry.
Kirke just does it to tease Anett, and Anett doesn't want to lose anything to Kirke.
I like how they use an overhead projector for this scene.
Don't have an Iris folder so have this instead.
But they used the sound effect of a normal slide projector.
>Even the title fails at delivering perfect German.
>Fun fact: A high ranking Russian officer delegated the "Schwarzesmarken" name for the 666th Squadron and nobody questioned it because of his position in the military. So yes, the creators are self-aware that the German conjugation is incorrect!
All a clever ruse to fool anyone listening in on their meeting. Any eavesdropped will think they were using a slide projector, when in fact they weren't. Classic Stasi misdirection.
Google translate gives "Schwarze Flecken" which sounds like ass. So I'm happy as a non German speaker to have imperfect German as the title if "Schwarze Flecken" is the alternative.
Just wait until someone start speaking German.
Yeah, our world's Stasi is, not Muv-luv's Stasi that employ someone like Axmann in high position and go around field executing people by the dozen.
More like Senpai.
>Just wait until someone start speaking German.
They shouldn't be anyone speaking German since they are speaking German in the setting. The only problem would be if a German character met a Japanese one.
To be fair, Beatrix makes it clear in the book that the Stasi only really went to complete shit when the last State Security Minister perished under mysterious circumstances and Erich Schmidt took power.
Course, we know that Schmidt is Theo-tier paranoid, poisons promising and aspiring subordinates (like Beatrix), and wanted to transform the DDR into his own personal fiefdom from Volume VII, so he's not exactly the best person for Minister. He also shields Axmann and blocks any chance of reform because he's an imbecile. If the stasi weren't so crazy indoctrinated, they probably would've done away with him long before SM started
they do eventually, but by then it's pretty much too late.
The anime would've probably ignored it even if they weren't dumbing the characters down. So far, I haven't seen the whole Berlin (pro-West) vs Moscow (pro-Soviet) faction tension that runs between the stasi. They'll probably be presented as a monolithic evil organization.
>Why is this acceptable?
Because it is the end of moe.
Moe characters deserve nothing but a slap in the face.
Aye, it didn't need to be retardedly evil, but that's what the anime gave us so what can you do.
Beatrix's Werewolf Battalion serve the same function, don't they. Elite guard unit under the command of the Stasi that also deal with dissidents and rebellions.
Oh, I see, thank you for the explanation. I'm glad to know that the Stasi wasn't always retardedly evil. I wonder why no one in the DDR do anything to remove such an incompetent minister, the Stasi are, in the end, just a state security branch, they shouldn't be able to withstand a full assault and purge from the NVA.
They were too powerful by that point. From the snippets of BiS Chapter 3 that has been uploaded, I think there was a serious attempt from the People's Council to curtail the stasi's power. People weren't big fans of letting the stasi have their own personal army accountable only to themselves. I'm not sure if Beatrix's dad, Abel, was one of the guy supporting or opposing the measures, but Beatrix herself thought it was stupid and confided to Jurgen that she didn't want her life tied to / controlled by the stasi.
Is Guylos how Walken was as a youngster?
>no Dzerzhinsky regiment
One job, etc. etc
>just a state security branch, they shouldn't be able to withstand a full assault and purge from the NVA
I don't know, their regiment had a top of the line equipment and very good training. It will be an intresting battle to watcih
>they shouldn't be able to withstand a full assault and purge from the NVA.
Unless they change it in the anime, there were many NVA units who stayed loyal or out of the fight, just as there were stasi who turned rebel.
A Hip T?! Colonel, what's a Russian gunship doing here?
Impossoble odds falls short when Lise is so much better than her
Meh anime, only reason I watched the 2nd episode was to see what happened to the Soviet Republic, because those aliens supposedly landed in Central Asia..... and the front line is in the GDR, Poland already had fallen... Well thank God 'Soviet High Command' is still a thing as this episode confirmed.
This anime should also be called 'Wasted opportunity', you have this great 'geo-political' setting and then you waste it on BS with one dimensional villains who are 'Stasi' members, whenever they appear they just grin in an evil way with evil sounds in the background making you gasp at how EVIR they are. That 'Evil' 'Stasi' woman with her 'lets suppress freedom/democracy/whatevs to defeat the great threat' could sound reasonable and not at all evil or morally wrong if only they didn't portray her and the speech as SATAN. Suppressing 'freedom and equality' for the duration of a conflict is damn common place in war-time in real life, virtually every 'Democratic' or otherwise country in the World Wars did it to varying extents, and to a lesser extent during other wars.... Its helpful and often necessary to win, same with increased surveillance of the population; its not 'evil'. Such a 'grey' thing was just portrayed as pitch black morality-wise just so idiot Otakus can understand better....
Well I dislike this anime, but I will continue watching to see for myself their portrayal of the Warsaw Pact People's Democracies and the USSR. Hope they at least try to be somewhat objective or historically accurate (although they pretty much failed with the Stasi... they weren't as bad as the West likes to make them out to be).
I did. I also answerd myself with: "because I am sane". By the way I sent a doctor for you, he didn't show me any papers but he seemed trustworthy.
Yeah the Stasi symbol in this buttravages me every time.
>Eye of providence
This is what happens when people forget the actual meaning behind symbols and think they just look cool/spooky thing I saw on the interwebs.
Ah well, at least they did the uniforms pretty nicely.
Maybe he got non-fatally purged early on, but then after the beta invasion they stopped giving a shit and this old enemy of the state finagled his way up the ranks and into power and wiped his records along the way?
There were a lot of nazis who went Soviet after the war. Surprise, surprise, turns out they bought into the totalitarian part of the ideology more than the other parts.
The story never states Schmidt is a nazi, but it would line up with his character. They guy was basically running the DDR like his little kingdom, and when the rebels went to take it away from him, he tried to kill Beatrix and nuke all of East Germany.
You don't need to be a genius to understand that if Theo was replaced by a girl with the same characteristics and personality (named Dorothea or something), all criticism and complaints would be replaced by praise
she could be as paranoid as she likes and kill anyone she likes and she would still end as the most popular character in the show
It's the same standard as the west~
The size is just right too
Have you checked if the urination pack is running fine?
It's the most important feature for you, right?
Eh...Why...do you know about that(that I wet myself in my first battle)?
(Eberbach you perv!)
It was in the report
about how you wet yourself
I didn't take Eberbach to be such a mean person...
We've only just met today...
She's taking a shit...right?
(I peed a little...)
The West sure is something thought Eberbach
I'd really wish they adapted the base tour in the anime
>Beatrix may be the most hated now, but she was the most loved before
God I hate what this anime is doing, even if the anime itself isn't that bad. It's also fucking over Irisdina now on top of Beatrix.
No? You get people already waifuing Beatrix, a legit monster.
I bet if Theo were a girl, we'd get endless "Thea-chan is too cute" "I want to give her political reeducation" "tfw you will never plot world domination with the Master"
>a legit monster
Is Yuuko a monster, because she's cut from the same cloth as Beatrix? Really as evil as Beatrix is, she's a rather tragic villain in the LN. She believes that everything she does is for the greater good (except for her vendetta with Irisdina). BiS only makes this more apparent.
But the anime, oh boy the anime. I don't mind them cutting out all the scenes that are their to humanize her, that's just windowdressing. I don't mind the compression really, they gotta do what they gotta do. What I don't like is them going out of their with the anime original shit to make her and Axmann caricatures.
Then again, I don't like how Theo is somehow less paranoid and insane while being even less sympathetic and tolerable. I don't like how they've changed the backstory for Irisdina and Juergen because it wasn't necessary and goes over the top. Iris just ratted out her brother, that was perfectly acceptable and realistic, she didn't (supposedly) shoot him in the back of the head herself. To be honest, I don't think this director really likes SM and would rather be doing something else. Personally, with the studio he's working with and all the constraints he's operating under, I don't blame him.
Yeah, the execution scene was anime original, so was the speech, so was the fact that she ignored NVA distress calls. I'd argue her anime portrayal is worse than Esdeath. Esdeath had some positives and some moments to humanize her that Beatrix doesn't have.
She had the 666 tortured. Yeah, that was pretty shitty. I'm not going to rationalize it or anything. Looking back over Volume VI:
she doesn't even really participate in the torture.
Take Sylwia's torture scene. It involves a nameless stasi interrogation specialist, not Beatrix.
All Beato wanted was Iris, and the plan was was to use her as a hostage to force the rebels to the negotiation table:
Terrific, they're going to rerail him in the worse way possible.
>She had the 666 tortured.
Really, she just hands them over to the interrogation department. Werewolves don't torture, they kill (and somethimes arrest). The only Werewolf to really get involved in the torturing was
Liseslapping around Pham and calling her racial slurs while screaming about why they'd have to go and be traitors.
Beatrix was pretty tired and feeling out of it throughout volume VI. She was not having a good time, especially with Schmidt hounding her the entire time.
I'm absolutely certain the anime will change this though.
No, none of that. Beatrix specifically say no raping allowed. What they do to Sylwia is:
First, they hang her from the ceiling by her hands.
Then, they ask her about her relationship with Walter (they suspect him of treason, not her).
When she's uncooperative, they waterboard her.
That's pretty much it. They might have pulled her nails too, but I doubt it. They don't even do anything to Annette except intimidate her (they determined that she really didn't know anything at all). Walter got it bad (but I don't think he got his bones folded, otherwise how could he have piloted against Beatrix). Pham got the worse shit, and it's only because she was Iris's confidant and because she had a racist interrogator.
Beatrix never get's involved. She's basically going "Fuck my life" because even though she has Iris, everything is spiraling out of control and her boss is crazy.
Fucking Kimi Nozo director dude. He'll do it too, won't he, the fucking Katiafag.
>They don't even do anything to Annette except intimidate her (they determined that she really didn't know anything at all).
I love how her super power is basically flying under the radar. She's even better at it then Ketchup is. People in universe don't take her seriously at all. Even Death takes a look at her, shrugs his shoulders and says "not worth my time."
