A boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
Hero is Dead:
Three Years ago a Hero sealed a Hell Gate. The Seal has been weakening ever since, sporadically letting Monsters through. After a big Group of Monsters entered the Country through a Hell Gate, the profession of Heroes was needed again.
Touka Scott a small Radish Farmer in the southern Town of Cheza is prepared for sudden Monster Attacks. He built himself a hidden Pittrap with Bamboo spikes, to lure unsuspecting Monsters in if they ever try to Attack the Village.
Suddenly a Monster attacks. Touka tries to lure it into the Trap with freshly roasted Bacon, but the Monster dislikes this type of Meat. Thankfully the local Hero saves the Village from the Monster in the nick of Time. The hungry Hero tries to grab a bite of Bacon after vanquishing the Monster, only to stumble into Toukas Pittrap and Die.
After causing the local Heros Death, Touka is forced to take matters into his own Hands to protect the Region from attacking Monsters.
It is a story about how a little girl from management got forcefully teleported into a remote area and trying to get back home with another suspicious companion from the enemy country.
Ok my friend. This is what Helck really is. Or do you want to see what truth really is?
Some anon named Rello came out of nowhere and almost translated everything up to date, hence the sudden popularity.
Started off somewhat of a gag manga, ended up serious and dark.
Some call it poor man's claymore, some call it fantasy OPM (those who have only read it early), some call it Gintama, some call it a feels train.
I am current with Helck and I've read about a hundred chapters of Claymore before dropping it.
The reason for my indignation was that they're nothing alike other than "vaguely medieval also monster transformation"
Do you enjoy Helck? Also some guy once said as a comment saying "poor man's claymore". Was just quoting. Just like some say Helck is a lighter version of Berserk (though that is still fucking dark levels of darkness).
Been thinking about picking up Helck just from seeing it posted regularly since translations started, but the possibility of tragedy has kept me at bay because I'm a pussy-ass bitch when it comes to tragedy.
It is a comedy m8.
Main character catchphrase is BAKA BAKAAAA
>MC is a overgrown musclebound He-Man
>is popular enough to be in 2nd place
What the fuck happen? Is Japan finally getting sick and tired of the faggy mcfaggot good looking MC already?
Read the first few chapters, it's totally light-hearted.
Helck is actually only the titular character.
The story is actually told from the little girl POV.
Read instead of looking into spoilers. It won't be a long read.
Could be a Yuusha ga Shinda thread, but Helck is currently flavor of the month, so most people are discussing that.
I'd like to know more about Yuusha if anyone would care to sell me on it.
It's not half bad. Feels just a tiny bit rushed though.
Thighs are fucking beautiful but I prefer semen demons like these.
It is ok but the necromancer loli in yuusha ga shinda screen time get cut because of the childhood friend and fat princess.
Either than that, no complain, the fight is hilarious since the MC fight with brain instead of brawn.
I prefer Anne-chan
Helck is popular because it's a huge outpouring of new content in a world where manga readers are desperately searching for their next fix. Non-subvocalizers can read anything quickly enough that running out of current manga is really an issue.
