>read the hellsing manga it's so much better than the ovas
Jesus Fucking Christmas was this drawn by a 12 year old?
I swear to god even Gonzo got the proportions better than this abomination.
>At least JoJos got the aesthetics.
Also at the end it's Araki who is writing it, you can be as angry as you want but once you see the man himself, anger wanes away, no homo.
Read it for the small edgy ride which is fun anon not for it's aesthetic beauty.
Japanese comics industry isn't exactly strict with an applicant author's drawing skills, the only real requirement to become a comic book author in japan is you have to be japanese citizen
The art is really wonky at first but improves a lot after a few volumes.
Hirano's compositions are pretty great, but it doesn't have anything that makes it better than the OAVS.
Though the latter doesn't have the crossfire chapters >>136201381
The only real answer is to watch and read both. Doesn't really matter which one you begin with.
I'm not asking for perfect anatomy but the author needs to have at least SOME kind of sense in it, this is just hilarious at best.
I watched the Gonzo anime and some of the OVAs, I thought it was alright but everyone just kept saying that the manga is so much better and how GODLY it is, but this was just unexpected.
It's called art evolution, smart guy. The early stuff looks pretty bad but Hirano's vast improvement over the course of the manga is undeniable. For reference, the ova's copy his later style almost identically, and even fail to capture the impact that some scenes had in the manga due to the level detail and style he put into it. The writing leaves a bit to be desired but you can't say Hirano wasn't able to convey the spirit of Hellsing through his artwork, in that regard he did a fantastic job.
Nobody should ever bother with the TV serie. This "amazing OST" must stop too, I can't remember a single one compared to the OAV's who were great and totally the Hellsing' universe.
What? Come on, the TV OST was great 10/10 shit. The show itself was kind of bleh, with an even worse ending, but I actually bought the fucking CD album when it came out.
The soundtrack was amazing good.
Agree. I have no intention of re-watching it. Love the soundtrack.
I unironically like the TV series better than the manga and the OVAs, and I just recently rewatched it again.
And I've hated the artist ever since I first saw his art and his work. So?
He fails miserably where Fujita succeeds, he's like a cheap ass 99c version of him.
This is how you do a composition with style.
>This is how you do a composition with style.
What? If you are going to discuss the art in Hellsing you better be talking about the use of black and light, because that's what it does best. That is not a good example for comparison.
The art gets a lot better later on
The art is fucking great you retard, anybody with half a right brain could see that. If you had any artistic ability you'd understand immediately.
It's like you're sayin dorohedoro is shit art because the author doesn't draw "inside the lines", you sound like a middleschooler.
There's more to art than technical ability. If you want to complain about his illustrations you should look at Oku Hiroya's stuff like Inuyahiki and realize that there's more having good art in manga than technical abilities.
If you want bad art AND bad composition AND bad everything check out Freesia or anything else Matsumoto Jiro does.
Just taking the chance to post some Q. Hayashida, that woman doesn't nearly get enough love.
There's stylized art style, like takemitsu zamurai and dorohedoro
But then there's this garbage >>136200398
You're clearly the one who was no artistic ability to tell when an author is expressive and when he's just shit and doesn't know what he's doing.
If he was going for "just fuck my shit up vatican mickey mouse" look then great, he did it. And I don't enjoy it.
Now fuck off with defending it, this is bullshit and you know it.
Next time a chapter comes out I'll start a thread, I can usually keep them going past a couple hundred posts.
Are you stupid?
I already asked the guy to post something, so what the fuck should I compare it to?
I could post a page but it would be full of spoilers.
It's pretty close to ending properly, I recommend not getting into it until then because you'll have a hell of a wait for the end - not Berserk tier, just one chapter a month is a bitch
If we disregard the fact that it's a manga/anime so obviously it's not gonna look like reality, Jojo looks miles more anatomically correct then Hellsing.
You definitely should.
I managed to keep one alive a couple of times but we were like four people.
I prefered Alucard's design at the beginning of the manga, with the glasses and the hat.
Even though the proportions were retarded, I thought it looked cooler than the one at the end.
No he clearly knows what he's doing, I could explain to you all the ways I know that, but it'd be faster if you just enrolled in some Adult Education Art classes or something.
You're cherry-picking too.
Taking a single handful of pictures, and using it as your evidence that an artist is untrained, unskilled, amateur, and is meeting the physical limitations of his ability is just embarrassing.
I 100% guarantee that Kouta Hirano could draw a photorealistic still-life in no time at all. You need to educate yourself.
Artists aren't magicians who pretend to draw poorly for some reason we can't comprehend. Sometimes they draw poorly because they just aren't that good. I still like the Hellsing manga, French guy blasting nazis while his face was getting blown off was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. But god some of the art is shit.
You are blanking out the literal cancer of Part 1 and 2 art which was not even slightly proportional. Araki's art only got good around late part 3, peaked at mid part 4 and then stagnated until SBR.
Hirano's art is fine, it's stylish and looks good and later on is pretty detailed.
The anon you quoted pretty much clearly said Hirano's strong point isn't his technical ability.
Anyway, Lolicard a best.
Are implying that Fujita is bad, newfag?
Too bad Hellsing is crap.
Part 8 is where he peaks if you want to talk about anatomy.
You're literally autistic.
I can draw in a photo-realistic, just like anyone who knows how to draw could if he gave a shit about it.
I think you wanted to say hyperrealism, which is also what I can do, but fuck that shit because it's very heavy work and takes month to make a picture in a style I dislike.
I prefer oils in my work.
I also read first 2 volumes of Hellsing and Hirano is a fucking disaster, so there's no cherry picking.
He has no clue what he is doing as an artist, because he's not a fucking artist you inbred mongrel.
He's a mangaka, which is very fucking different.
You need very specific training to do line art and anime style, and he knows that at its bare bones level.
I could go into details why he's shit at drawing but since you're clearly a troll who implies he's good at what he does.
Then even as a mangaka he's a failure which is VERY, very fucking apparent just from how he's inking his works, no that you would know anything about that.
Now fuck off, his artsyle is comical at best as I already said, at least for the before mentioned period. I don't believe he could get much better in a few volumes.
>He has no clue what he is doing as an artist, because he's not a fucking artist you inbred mongrel.
>He's a mangaka, which is very fucking different.
He's right, line art is very peculiar thing. I can draw pretty well myself and I'm trying to get better at doing anime art, it's really not easy to switch from traditional art.
I thought his SBR quality has continued into JJL, either is candidate for best drawn JJBA part.
Why do you have such a boner for Fujita. That page you posted isn't at all better than any Hellsing artwork and Fujita's best art was in Ushio and Tora.
No anon, you are fucking stupid. Tetsuo Hara is a fantastic artist and probably the second best weekly anga artist ever but when Araki was trying to rip him off he failed miserably. Even very early Hokuto no Ken art had people drawn proportionally correct, just that some people were huge compared to others. But their limbs weren't gangly and their heads weren't too small for their bodies and their arms and legs weren't facing the wrong way. That is what happened in the art for Parts 1 and 2 of JJBA. If you think Part 1's art is better than Hellsing's then you are objectively wrong.
Because Fujita has good art with good stories. Springald is great and if you can't see the difference with a stupid teenage vampire story I'm sorry for you.
Nigger, early to mid Hellsing is both out of proportioning, has tootpick people and the most ackward fucking movements. part 1 had, at the very least, more detail and better anatomy.
>as a mangaka he's a failure
okay I'm not a mangaka but even I can't understand how selling millions of copies, getting 2+ anime adaptations, blurays, goods, etc etc, is being a failure.
You're clearly in the minority that thinks his art is shitty and refuses to read it because of that.
Personally I think Gantz's art is shit, but that doesn't make me correct, it's just an opinion.
His art got a lot better, do you think pic related looks bad?
Hirano's later art is as good as Fujita's, it's just different stylistically. No one reads Hellsing for the story, it's just meant to be cool looking violence. Shit half of it is almost a gag manga, it never takes itself seriously (but still takes itself more seriously than Drifters, which is equally good).
Have you actually read Phantom Blood or have you only seen the anime. In what way is the anatomy better, everyone is gigantic and fucking retarded looking for all 5 volumes. Some pages are more detailed yes, other pages are not.
Stop trying to imitate me.
The point is that it's not cool, it just tries reaslly hard to, you could tell if you were older than 16. I watched the first 2 OVA but I had to stop becasue it was too cringeworthy. But I'll finish it someday so that I can call it shit in every single Hellsing thread from here to eternity.
Give me one page from early/mid Hellsing that can hold a candle to this.
>Watching something just to call it shit on a mongolian papercraft forum
Top lel, and I'm the 16 year old. Hellsing is mindless entertainment done right. Feel free to keep moaning about it, no one cares anymore.
Who does the best linework and why is it Takahashi Yousuke?
Those police clothes are more detailed than that >>136211109 , retard. And wait, your argument is literally "it shows big muscles so it's better"?
>Far less detail
Do your eyes not work. For one at least that Hellsing page has a background in some of the panels. The detail of the characters clothing is easily comparable. And how are they stick people, if anything they are closer to real proportions than any person in that pic.
No. But to be honest, it does help. Especially when i have to choose between big muscles or 3 meter tall stick figures.
Hellsing has more simplistic art, it does it's own thing and i can dig it. But you cannot honestly say it has better art than something more detailed and more anathomically correct. Hell, Dio's one arm has almost as many lines as Alucard.
Ok, try this then. Get me a Hellsing face that's half as detailed and well-shaded as Dio here.
>I've learned everything there is to know from just the first two volumes so I'll make a shitty thread to push my super important opinions
Why are people giving this retarded faggot the attention exactly?
>Get me a Hellsing face that's half as detailed and well-shaded as Dio here.
That's not the same kind of style you dumb fuck.
I love Hellsing's art because it's plays around with detail and high contrast.
Similarly, I love Mignola Hellboy for its high contrast shots. Makes it look moody and amazing even though it's low detail.
Too bad Mignola rarely pencils Hellboy these days, even the 'Library Collections' are filled with so-so stories drawn by guest artists.
I was just a child when the stars fell from the skies...
The story's fine as an edgy action story, and it's got some very memorable characters (anderson, major). I'm more surprised by how one can hate it, though I can understand not liking the over-the-top violence. What is it you dislike so much about it?
I'm all for over the top violence and action, I love fucking 80's action movies , but Hellsing is just bad. It's like comparing Aliens to Alien vs Predator. Just because they're the same genre and try to do the same thing it doesn't mean they're the same.
This thread has made me genuinly sad.
I am dissapointed in you Anons.
I don't know, I've watched 2 ova, I just remember how stupid it is. Maybe it's just because for me vampires are sacred. Vampire Hunter D is cool, Alucard is reinterpretated by the mind of a teenager.
>or me vampires are sacred
Really? I'd like your opinions on:
-Jojo (vampires in general and DIO in specific)
-Strike the Blood
-Dance in the vampire Bund
Not that anon, but D has perhaps the best vampires in fiction. They aren't parasites, but literally a superior race with tech that shits on anything humans can think off. They're rightly called nobles.
But that's not what vampires are. They're not nobles or creatures of honour. They are parasites and monsters. That's what makes Alucard such a good vampire. He not only admits this but embraces it. He knows he is a monster and revels in it.
>They're not nobles or creatures of honour
Who the fuck ever said D vampires are? I said they're rightly called nobles because they're the rulling class, superior to humans in every way. That doesn't mean they're actually noble. If you knew the first thing about the series you'd know most of them are far more depraved then the worst Hellsing vampire, which really sucks when you realize the averadge member of their series could wipe the floor with Alucard without breaking a sweat.
ah you're one of those are you? Good, i'm not going to waste my time time getting into a debate with a power level faggot. Go annoy another message board and let us just enjoy a good series ok? Now run along, i'm sure your mother is calling you somewhere.
>ignores entire post just because of a small powerlevel comment that actually added to the point
Typical little dick Hellsing faggot, did it upset you somebody said there's a vampire stronger then Alucard? What a little fucking bitch.
>''D Vampires are awesome''
>''Nuh-uh! Vampires are supposed to be edgelord faggots oh god how i love Alucard's cock!''
>''Well, D vampires are also very deprived and evil, which sucks because they operate on a larger scale of power then Alu-''
>'ABLOBLOBLOBLO GET THE FUCK OUT KID LEL XD MOMMY CALLING (H-How dare he say that about Alu-sama ;_;)''
Yes, and D vampires have most of these weaknesses to the fullest, but they also have vast power and cunning which they use to bypass them. I like them because they have an entire culture and society that isn't particularly dependant on humans. Humans are entertainment more then anything else.
> Typical little dick Hellsing faggot, did it upset you somebody said there's a vampire stronger then Alucard?
Funny considering what you said about Alucard being weaker isn't even true.
D is fine, he's a traditional vampire and the story is good. Bloodlust is amazing. I don't give a fuck about nazis since I'm not 15 anymore.
I've only watched JoJo and Dance in the Vampire Bund. JoJo is good, why wouldn't it be? Dance in the Vampire Bund at least gave us delicious /ss/ with a vampire nee-san.
I can tolerate to watch something mediocre but not coldsteel vampire edition.
So it did hit a nerve? Well then, i'm sure you read the novels and know all about D vampires, right? You most certainly wouldn't be making that statement otherwise. I've read Hellsing several times, so i can safely say i know what the fuck i'm talking about.
>So, pretty much like any other vampire society in fiction then?
Please name ONE that doesn't need to keep humans enslaved to feed AND has far more advanced tech, and it better not be fanfiction.
>Yes, and D vampires have most of these weaknesses to the fullest
Do they? It's been a while but I'm pretty sure that the nobility have absurd regeneration ability. Only things like true sunlight and iron weapons or some shit like that hurts them. Traditionally vampires have weaknesses to holy symbols, fire, fucking running water and literally have OCD.
I ain't the guy who thinks Hellsing vampires are the GOAT vampires so I can't say much on that.
Really? Then you understand that at the end of Hellsing, Alucard is the living embodiment of a concept. A living concept. He can't be destroyed unless he chooses to do it himself. It's probably safe to say he's on the upper ends of power in terms of fictional characters.
They're also weak to crosses and will actually drown in water. So they have a shitton of weaknesses which they can't power through ala Superman/kryptonite, so they have to use their powers and cunning to avoid them.
>hellsing babies actually believe this
Mind control him to make him kill himself, and since he fucked up and fused with fuckboi and killed all his other souls he's actually quite susceptible to that. Especially since D vampires are fucking telepahtic monsters.
I think I have Nightwalker already on the watchlist. Shiki seems bad and what's Rebirth, a manga?
Watch the original Let the right one in, if you haven't already, that's good, not this Hellsing garbage.
>tfw Hellsing Dawn will never be finished
>tfw we'll never get the reason for Walter's betrayal whether it was to simply surpass Alucard or he felt unappreciated by the Hellsing Organization
>tfw we'll never get Alucard violently tearing a bunch of Nazis multiple new assholes in Poland
Why even live?
Understood what? That he needs to constantly perceive himself in order to exist? That he's theoretically nigh-omnipresent and can't be killed by conventional means? That if he ever stops perceiving himself even for just a moment, he's gone forever? That retard Hirano wrote quantum physics when he doesn't know shit about them, and you goddamned retard manchildren who know even less blew it out of proportions.
>says i'm a powerlevel fag
>literally the most important thing to him is that Alucard is teh stronkest
Fucking a. Embodiment of concept, HAHAHAHA.
>you're really embarassing now
Yes, i'm embarrasing you.
>Watch the original Let the right one
Already did, i watched all the good vamp movies, including both Nosferatus. Rebirth is a manhwa. Your choice if you want to read it, but the MC is a vampire and the story is inspired by Berserk. I highly recommend it.
You provided zero argument but a shitload of ad-hominem, so i can only assume you concede both your point and the fact that you're an autistic manchild. You also switched up your aproach at least 3 times. You're done here.
Stoker wrote a romance horror novel about a Romanian warrior turning into an immortal vampire and cucking an Englishman.
Also, if Stoker was still alive, pic would be his waifu.
Yeah, Isabelle Adjani was sexy as fuck, she also in The Driver by Walter motherfucking Hill. I think Rebirth is even published in my country but I'm not particularly interested in manwha.
Not really a vampire but try reading Arria Marcella by Theophile Gautier.
>cucking an Englishman
The only one who got cucked was Lord Godalming, while Jonathan didn't even get properly cucked because Renfield was a based cockblock who got bitch slapped so hard he died.
In fact, Jonathan got fucking snu-snu'd to the point he couldn't muster any strength to escape for a few months because of how fine dust his pelvis was.
If you ask me, Jonathan had it pretty good.
Hirano's art is admittedly lackluster in the beginning of the series. It improves during the course of the second volume and by the third volume his art is fantastic.
>read the hellsing manga it's so much better than the ovas
Who told you that anon? It's literally the same thing.
Also, have you ever heard of abstract art? It's not like drifters are particulary anatomically correct either, it's just a style.
>nobody should ever bother with the TV serie
Agreed. But "amazing OST" is no meme, it was really god tier. The entire intro is 10/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBPegoYoD9Q
I can't be the only one who enjoyed the wonky faces and atmosphere of the first volume.
And it's too bad the OAV didn't adapt pic related.
