I've found that too (the last part). But I spend a lot of time awake (health problems) and ragardless of the fact I socialize and get along with mostly everyone I give myself the time, or rather I force myself to make time to think through things as objectively as I can. No, honestly, it's not like it was limited to some scenes, it made almost every character seem unbelieveable. The "hardcore otaku" that is "intelligent, nihilistic with wicked sense of humor" turns into blushing idiot that gaijin girl incidentally falls for after she has humaliated her. The autist that was portrayed as someone who needs constant care then suddently dresses herself properly and help just boils down to making chores for her. The relationship between two people where one cannot communicate to other properly that they just wish to study school first, so he can make a proper partner for her later on. The danger of their apartements being destroyed by evil princial being solved by the most cringeworthy, clichéd way with awful speeches that were almost physically painful. Also quite sure that the clapping game they made for festival was terrible, the game studio audition was awful, the imouto was appaling.

People can still like it, but I will continue calling it complete crap.

The thing is that realistic is usually critique of character being too idealized, thus marry sue, but in this case, the characters are just too bad and inconsistent, they internally don't make sense, so it doesn't work as a story, you can't say one thing about character/write them one way and they violate that in the next scene for no reason. There were never actually explained a lot of the reasons why would characters do the actions they decided to do. When Mashiro is written as someone who needs constant care and that she's actually completely aloof and can't do anything alone and then she just needs someone to cook/wash clothes for her, it doesn't really confirm the written explanation of the character and that's the problem, the expecations just didn't match with what the characters did.

I guess you can say that it's merely my opinion, but then there's probably no point in discussing anything ever.
