The eclipse is still the single most powerful piece in any manga i've ever read. And my favorite manga series/anime is still Monster and nothing in it compares to the eclipse.

Its the moment that truly revealed the twisted dark side of Berserk. I really hope we can get back to it eventually. Since the last few years things have been so slow and been more so about the side that can fight against said darkness. I feel like all will be better once we see the GodHand again.

Gungrave was fucking boring. Couldn't make it past the 8th episode.

The eclipse was brutal and truly a despicable betrayal on so many levels. But i thought the moment after it was even more intense. Guts looks at his love broken basically stolen from him. His arm and eye gone crippled. He tries to piece it altogether but all he can do is run well seeing the images. All of his friends are gone. Griffith betrayed and destroyed what he loved. The godhand and the world of darkness revealed to him. Out there untouchable he has nothing his whole world is gone. Not even surviving meant much at that moment as he looked at Casca a husk who doesn't want to be anywhere near him.

It was all gone. No one would believe him and what happened outside of a few people even if he shouted it from the roof tops. The despair was showered down on him again in the Count arc. Femto telling him his existence was nothing and all his efforts of hunting their apostles were nothing.

Berserk pre end of conviction was truly the most brutal thing i've ever read. Its really one of the most brutal but before that nothing but darkness no hope and no direction for Guts.

I pray he and Casca get to remove their brands at some point. The idea of them and the rest of the Hawks that died being part of the IOEs abyss and suffering forever is too much for me to bear.

Killing one another? No i hope it ends with Griffith being betrayed like Gaiseric probably was in some sacrifice of his kingdom by whoever new Void ends up being. And in his last moments again looks to Guts to save him and Guts is in a situation where he can either kill Griffith there or save the one he loves again. And just lets the poor sociopathic piece of shit fall and disappear.

I'm beginning to think the IOE and God Hand cycle will not end at all. They've basically confirmed all good souls without regrets or attachments go to the "heaven" of Berserk. So its probably like a Yin and Yang thing. A test to humanities good from its bad temptation versus the human will.

Griffith will die alone. Guts will finally get to watch and let him fall to hell as he did to him. And he will go home and nail some sweet sista chocolate.

I've been meaning to get into Berserk for some time, but've just never gotten around to it.

I know the manga is all kinds of worth it, but what about the anime? Or the movies? I love action and well animated action sequences, if I'm going to watch something. If the quality of the anime is low, I'll likely only do manga and be more than satisfied.

Marc Diraison is so fucking great. The whole Berserk dub is wonderful.

I read it at the end of a two day-long reading binge through the entirety of the Golden Age. I did sleep between these two days, but I got to the Eclipse near the end of the second day, and was kinda emotionally exhausted from the ride.
That, plus the fact that I had it spoiled for me and there were literally like a thousand arrows saying "BAD STUFF WILL HAPPEN NOW", and I actually didn't feel much from it. In fact, I remember thinking how funny it was that I felt so little.
The whole thing was still pretty fantastic, though, just objectively. The whole buildup of the entirety of the Golden Age really made it shine. The Golden Age was fun, but I think it wouldn't be half as fun if I didn't know it was a tragedy from the very beginning. Lingering doom that is just around the corner makes everything sweeter.

Angry desperation, I wanted to reach into the screen and punch griffith in his stupid bitch face. I was cheering on guts while he was hacking his own arm off with his broken sword, wanting guts to beat that girly faggot to a bloody pulp with the stump.
I knew that wasn't going to happen, it was all a flashback, there was no way this was going to end wel, and I hated it every step of the way.
I had to take a little break when it was over. and after the eclipse I no longer blamed guts for acting like an edgy asshole to everyone.
