What was the first anime you watched?
For me it was Ghost Hunt at 6:00 in the morning because I couldn't record it for later.
Howl's Moving Castle back when Toonami was a thing. More of a film but whatever.
Grave of the Fireflies
Am I just a fucking magnet for unhappiness?
Probably shit that was called mitsubachi māya no bōken and I watched it long time ago
The very first as a normie probalby was DBZ or Ranma.
As anon it was Rozen Maiden and it was because of the desu spam.
I don't know how to feel about it tbqh
Sounds ridiculous but the way I actually got into anime was by randomly watching Rosario + Vampire on Netflix and the watching Fullmetal Alchemist.
I have no idea why I even went ahead to watch anything else after that. 12 year old me must've enjoyed that shitfest.
Well, the first anime I watched was probably Yu Yu Hakusho , but I was too little to care about it or to even understand anything. Now if I were to talk about the first anime I became interested in, I'd say either Dragon Ball Z or Cardcaptor Sakura, I started watching both of them I was about 5 or 6, I think.
Watching anime on TV was such suffering. You never knew when the broadcaster would pull the plug or the anime would enter in a infinite loop of reruns because they didn't bought the rights for the next season.
>Pokemon as a child's, localized shill cartoon.
>Mon Colle Kights, as a closer to real anime experience with some fanservice.
>Inuyasha, as a true unfiltered anime in it for the fanservice, just dubbed.
>To Love Ru as pure undubbed, first true anime experience. Also for the fanservice.
Hard to choose, since they all feel like firsts for me.
The first anime I was actually interested in, and completely engaged with, was Yosuga no Sora
Fucking great place for a 15 year old to start
dug into a site i used to frequent years ago when i was starting out, i had all this fucking shounen/hentai Naruto, Bleach, R + V shit and then out of nowhere Bitter Virgin
got a chuckle outta it
The very first anime that comes to my head... I do not remember its name but the hero was a kid fighting robots with a squirt gun. The robots were made with cylinders and. Then a huge robot appears and the kid shoots at the leg but the squirt gun does not damage to it. Other robots in the anime fly on a car breaking down AA guns. To this date I still can't recall the name of this one.
The 2nd anime I can recall for ms is tied between Space Battleship Yamato, Astro-Boy and Queen Millenia at 7:00 AM Saturdays.
As a kid, without following the plot or anything:
Black Rock Shooter
In that order, unless I forgot about something
Sailor Moon. I remember being shy about watching that shit in front of my mom.
First manga was FMA in health class because I was bored. The guy named Ben Thong who sat next to me leant it to me.
First anime was Sgt. Frog in highschool anime club. Those were the days.
First anime was either Dragonball or Gundam : Wing.
But the first i actually bothered downloading and watching each week was Death Note (best experience ever going home with my best friend and getting stoked for that iamgay.
oh god. ive blocked this shit out of my memory. im pretty sure i cried at one point in this show when I was like 10 or 11. There was no easy access to DL stuff from internet for my age at that time. I literally used a Home Alone talkback thing to record that one song from TV that plays when they find all the crystals or some shit.
I specifically remember as a kid that anime back in the 90s was filled .. with some sort of magic.
It was actually really dope for the first two years. Plenty of joking and discussion as we watched, cool people. Then most of the witty people graduated and a bunch of quiet people and guys who just played maplestory in the back joined and things kinda fell apart.
