Another episode, another manga dump, enjoy.
It's going to take over two hours to dump all this, and I might have to go somewhere later. So please be kind and bump the thread.
Overall I think todays episode was fine. They rushed the hell out of it but it really didn't feel like it. They did well.
I think that's a joke that's lost in translation.
this implies they've opened Gates to other worlds before.
>That fever blush
I kinda wish they'd kept Kuribayashi getting off on murder in the anime, but I guess they had to tone it down a little.
At least the anime finally managed to show the sheer terror Pina has at this scene finally. Normally it comes off as slightly scared in the anime. When Kuribayashi opens fire in the anime they finally show actual terror.
So, am I the only one that noticed the sudden drop in quality since the dragon fight chapter of this manga? And what the actual fuck was that cringeworthy plotskip after finding the medicine in the ruins? It was fucking godawfull, fuck, I love this manga, enjoy the adaptation, but I wonder what the actual fuck went wrong with the manga there.
I feel the same way with the recent arc but since it's being released monthly it take a while for a final verdict. It's just been one arc after all, I'm looking forward to more empire-and-modern age interactions.
I'm with you on the part of waiting for how the new arc unfolds. Although, I'm strongly feel that the author should be ashamed about the quality drop. It's a real pity and I wonder if anything actually happened there.
/a/ why didn't you protect her smile?
It felt like the direction was changed, maybe the editor didn't like where it was heading and decided the arc should end asap. I haven't read the LN but I'm assuming a lot was cut off since it ended pretty abruptly
>Pampered prince who probably hasn't had to do anything strenuous or suffered a single day in his life
>VS an actual soldier with proper combat training and experience
Shocking, I know.
Speaking as someone who actually uses them regularly, yes, they are.
Son, his neck was thicker than her waist.
He did not hit her back ONCE. Even Mike Tyson got knocked a little by weaker opponents. This is just more bullshit plot armor to make the JSDF beeg and stronk.
Surely the JSDF is beeg and stronk enough, fighting a medieval level opponent with fucking JDAMs, surely that's enough?
>Son, his neck was thicker than her waist.
That's more of the manga art choices, in the LN he's clearly a bitch fuckboi. He's fairly skinny in the anime too, but then Kuribayashi is even tinnier and looks like a teenager, so it's kind of a wash.
>He did not hit her back ONCE. Even Mike Tyson got knocked a little by weaker opponents
a) he's come to the sudden and terrifying realisation of what guns can do and that Itami will shoot his fucking face off with the one he had pointed at him if he tries anything and b) Mike Tyson and his opponents were, you know, professional boxers who had been smashed in the face before as part of their job. This guy probably hadn't been so much as scratched before in his life, she could easily have broken his nose and concussed him in the first punch alone. She probably did, going by the anime.
I HATE IT ANON
I HATE IT
>That's more of the manga art choices,
Okay, but you gotta make these things sync up.
> she could easily have broken his nose and concussed him in the first punch alone. She probably did, going by the anime
She's a scrawny woman. He can literally stick his arm out, grab her neck and hold her away.
The manga should have
A) had some oni or something take her place
Or B) make it a battle of wits
Or C) just shoot him in the leg
This is just cringeworthy. Could you at least make this woman look AND act like rhanda rousey? I'd be alright with that...
>She's a scrawny woman.
And he's a bitch prince with zero combat experience. And again, see the art choice issue above. He's not supposed to be a chiseled adonis in the first place.
Regardless, you're being picky and taking it too seriously. Kuribayashi could've been a hulking oni or they could've had Tomita do the beatdown, but that would defeat the point, which is that an arrogant fuck getting his shit pushed in by a cute girl with massive tits is hot.
Personally I'd like it if Kuribayashi was a bit bigger and more muscular, but that's not to everyone's taste. You've got to consider your target audience here.
>He's not supposed to be a chiseled adonis in the first place.
THEN DON'T MAKE HIM ONE
>rrogant fuck getting his shit pushed in by a cute girl with massive tits is hot.
Personally I'd like it if Kuribayashi was a bit bigger and more muscular, but that's not to everyone's taste. You've got to consider your target audience here
But this is my point- you can't have this sort of drama interwoven with "she did it because it makes the fuccbois in the audience hard!"
It's like shit, you either make this dead or alive or apocalypse now, you can't have both...
>But this is my point- you can't have this sort of drama interwoven with "she did it because it makes the fuccbois in the audience hard!"
>It's like shit, you either make this dead or alive or apocalypse now, you can't have both...
Except you totally can. The series is consistently gritty drama taking place right next to goofy comedy, you have a princesses and nobles being complete idiots and acting like schoolgirls as the foreground to serious politics. Between Itami and main four girls, the series is a borderline harem anime. Why you were expecting perfectly gritty realism from it is beyond me, because that's clearly not what it's about.
Well to answer some of your points, Itami specifically said NOT to kill him. Shooting him even in the leg could easily lead to killing him, it's not like they could rush him to hospital in pseudo-Rome.
Battle of wits is out, because Zorzal is evidently and idiot and so is Kuribayashi.
Oni is pointless, it's supposed to be real world Japan vs fantasy Rome, bringing in fantasy Japan would defeat the point.
>Except you totally can. The series is consistently gritty drama taking place right next to goofy comedy, you have a princesses and nobles being complete idiots and acting like schoolgirls as the foreground to serious politics
And it doesn't work at all. It's constantly deviantart-fanfiction tier *unsheathes katana* bullshit that clashes blatantly with the fun and titties part.
>Shooting him even in the leg could easily lead to killing him
Shoot him in the meaty part of his thigh. Or just punch him once. Or better, not at all. This is seriously fucking over your abilities to get along with the inhabitants of this new world. Even a badly equipped group of people will organize and fight back properly if provoked enough- america and Russia learned this the hard way. And boy, there's now a lot of reasons to sympathize with this country aren't there? Can you imagine the reaction the world would have if they saw half of the shit these guys do?
>honorable JDSF flattens the equivlant of the Roman coliseum
>honorable JSDF kills 1000+ soldiers with napalm strike, soldiers armed only with swords
>JSDF allows soldiers to brutally attack royalty of new land
>JSDF bombs town, casualties high; mostly women and children
Sooner or later you have to realize these people have all kinds of reason to hate you, and your own country isn't going to support it after a while, even if they did shoot first.
>Battle of wits is out, because Zorzal is evidently and idiot and so is Kuribayashi
>JSDF diplomacy given to ground soldier with criminal record who failed her written exams twice instead of high brass official; soldier later attacked the prince until he was so wounded he needed to be hospitalized
This isn't "gritty realism" it's just... Terrible
You also ignored the whole 'he'll get shot if he tries anything and has probably never had to fight ever in his life and doesn't know how to take a hit'
>Just lost all of his palace friends in the blink of an eye
>To some kind of demented foreigner with weapons he's never seen before
>Realising you too could be killed the same way in a second if you make a false move
>The same demented foreigner gets sicced on you
>They can't hurt you! You're the crown prince! Surely they can't- oh fuck
This is probably what went through Zorzal's mind. It probably never even occured to him to try and defend himself. It didn't even occur to him to defend himself from Itami when he first hit him.
Give any logical explanation to how he would be able to resist in that situation in the first place, with a fking gun pointing at him? Even if he is stronger he is still in a shitty situation
Its not MUH PLOT CONVENIENCE, you are just a whiny bitch
>And it doesn't work at all. It's constantly deviantart-fanfiction tier *unsheathes katana* bullshit that clashes blatantly with the fun and titties part.
Well you may not like it, but it's what makes it sell. That's the modern otaku market for you, I'm afraid.
>Shoot him in the meaty part of his thigh
Still a bad idea.
>Or better, not at all. This is seriously fucking over your abilities to get along with the inhabitants of this new world
Not really going to disagree with you on this one, but it's kind of beside the point I was talking about.
>JSDF bombs town, casualties high; mostly women and children
This is actually straight up wrong, it specifically states that they went out of their way to make sure there'd be no civilian casualties.
>This isn't "gritty realism" it's just... Terrible
Then see here.
You remember when the author criticized america for being sloppy with its affairs? I didn't really mind that at the time, made sense to me. But this is seeming less and less legitimate with time. This isn't diplomacy, this is random thuggery. Why the FUCK are any of these grunts even in the same room as the crown Prince of a nation? So you not understand how utterly fucking unacceptable it is to even TOUCH someone like that in a political setting? This would be like one of the okinowan rape scandals, except instead of the marine raping some random woman he rapes the fucking princess.
Being snob is suffering. Why are you watching anime? Read non-fiction. Go fuckin away with your realism mambo jambo in /pol/ or youtube comments.
>This is actually straight up wrong, it specifically states that they went out of their way to make sure there'd be no civilian casualties
America tried doing that in Korea and we all know how bloody well that went. Smart bombs aren't actually all that smart.
>This is just more bullshit plot armor to make the JSDF beeg and stronk.
i love it when murrikeks get upset at this.
I don't really have an opinion on the political perspective. It's dumb, but people want to see an arrogant pampered shit who rapes slaves get fucked up. Not every manga can get by on assholes getting away from it because they're politically fireproof like in something like Wulfsmund, sometimes you've got to give the audience what they want.
They bombed the Senate building when there was literally no one near it in the middle of the night. Even the Empire confirmed that no one was actually hurt.
>Even the Empire confirmed that no one was actually hurt
Which they would obviously never do in a real situation. Also, by the way, I don't know if you've ever seen what a building like that getting knocked over looks like, but I have, and I assure you in any realistic situation the concrete flying away from that explosion had more than enough power behind it to kill people. And that's a lot of stuff flying around, so that's a lot of dead and injured people. Would you like to see a webm file of a Syrian soldier getting his fucking head taken off his shoulders by a flyig brick that came from a building 300 yards away from him? Because I can.
To be concise, I've been arguing this entire time that quote, "you can either have dead or alive or apocalypse now, you can't mix them" and I think I've been doing that pretty well. The numerous absurdities contained within this story are so blatant and unacceptable to any military operation I could literally write an essay about how utterly fucked this whole thing is. And I think you know that too.
I suppose I can see the appeal of all this despite the cringe. I am here after all too. i like titties and explosions as much as the next guy. My favorite rape slave is the dragon girl, I'd "pass" through her "gateway" if you know what I mean. In fact I generally hate "serious" war movies- Dr strangelove is my favorite of all time, saving Private Ryan the least. And there is a way to merge "gritty realism and humor" and have it work. I used Apocalypse now as my "realistic" movie and I can say that I was laughing my ass off throughout the first half of the movie. It just doesn't work here because apocalypse now has characters that while exaggerated (colonel Kilgore being roughly comparable to Mrs fists) are still believeable.
I won't critisize your ability to tolerate more bullshit than me, but I hope you can at least understand why I cringe.
>Would you like to see a webm file of a Syrian soldier getting his fucking head taken off his shoulders by a flyig brick that came from a building 300 yards away from him? Because I can.
No, I wouldn't. I'm not into this sort of thing as much as you are, and I'm not sure anyone else reading this series is either.
>I won't critisize your ability to tolerate more bullshit than me, but I hope you can at least understand why I cringe.
Sort of, but I still feel that you take this shit way too seriously. Having said that, I take shit like Haganai seriously and get angry over it, so I'm not really any position to judge.
It's not even tthat difficult to beat down an opponent bigger than you.
1.Hit him in the face
2 If he didn't fall with the first punch, just keep punching, wait for him to stagger and then push him down
3. Once he's down just beat the crap out of him.
>I'm not into this sort of thing as much as you are, and I'm not sure anyone else reading this series is either
Milfags like me are drawn to the idea of shit getting smashed, either in a humorous context or a serious one. Come to think about it, cowboy bebop is a pretty good example of mixing the two and it working... Anyway.
>Sort of, but I still feel that you take this shit way too seriously.
A little. I'm very picky. Also I don't particularly like the whole otaku crowd or pandering to the otaku method. It feels like George Lucas selling out.
Whatever. Dragongirls. Tits. Explosions. Wharrrrrg.
Something about her just looks off. I think it's how shiny she seems to be making her look like the reflection off of a car or something. Maybe it's just the blue that's screwing with me.
I still want to fuck all of her holes though.
If they go through the end of the dragon arc you should see her for more than a minute, She should have at least 10 minutes of screentime with all of the monologuing about the dragon's food breeding it etc. not to mention the fight with rory and the apology.
It's probably the skin. She looks like the blueberry bitch from Charlie and the chocolate factory
They're probably going to make gilesle or whatever her name is, Mrs blueboobs just another cosplay-tier forgettable moeblob.
>A midget girl beating a tall and ripped man that is at least 2/5 taller than her
>a superpower losing to two dudes and a boat.
That was an "extra" gaiden chapter from Gaiden+ novel, and not actually part of the book 3. That's why it felt out of place.
It's chronologically correct in place, but out of place in story telling.
you can't lose to rice farmers and still be taken seriously.
This isn't up for debate. It's on their official webpage.
Volume 6~9 炎龍編 (Flame Dragon)
Volume 10-12 動乱編 (Upheaval)
Those are literally the same name as the novels.
Flame Dragon arc ends with episode 17, and 18 is start of Book 3, Upheaval.
It's not so much the blue I have an issue with it's how fucking glossy she looks. I guess it might be trying to show scales or something but the bitch looks like a waxed car. This is what it comes off looking like to me Skin, even scales shouldn't look like that. I guess she must be really oily or something.
Actually military the United States with it's Southern Vietnamese allies fulfilled it's objectives. The Vietcong got utterly annihilated and had to be incorporated into the Northern Vietnamese army due to literally none of them being alive. The United States and South Vietnam only lost the war because of the public backlash against the war on the mainland.
I know you didn't, anon, I know you didn't.
you could possibly argue that she's based off of like a some kind of skink which are amphibious and rather glossy, but Giselle looks like she polishes her scales on top of that. Who knows, maybe that's a part of her daily routine. She's still hot and I bet she'll be lightly blue with just wings and maybe a little silver scales in the anime.
You do realize that most aces from the North Vietnamese military only scored kills because the United States military decided to restrict the F-4 to only air-to-air missiles? After seeing it's disastrous combat ratio they decided to allow machine guns once again in the F-4 and they easily dealt with the enemies MiG supplied by the Soviets and Chinese.
what's there more to tell? you lot had complete air superiority, but still couldn't get the high score
>we could've won if we put some effort in, but we didn't
As was typical for America, the brass massively misunderstood the situation.
They thought the F4 was going to usher in a period of air combat where guns were irrelevant and missiles made all the kills.
As a testament to how wrong they were, the abysmal F4 combat record before the inclusion of guns and the fact that guns are still relevant to this day.
Must be fun punching holes into tower shields and plate armors
God damn it, just noticed this
I'm surprised Itami actually boxes
Can your average anon even handle Kuribayashi
>SDF soldiers are trained in the military self-defence art of toshu kakuto (徒手格闘), developed in 1952 by Major Chiba Sansu from a synthesis of jujutsu, karate, aikijujutsu, boxing and wrestling. The techniques of toshu kakuto are simplified and direct, to allow for their application whilst in combat dress and carrying field kit. There is an emphasis on the rapid transmission of maximum force in strikes, and for this reason toshu kakuto eschews the fully rotated punches and instep kicks of most karate forms in favour of vertical thrust punches and straight heel kicks
i don't mind power fantasies, but the way they glorified their attack kind of crossed a line for me. i mean it was retaliation iirc, but the way they framed it annoyed me, though i don't remember all the details.
What's wrong with tits?
The mangaka loves the old style cowtits.
We learned that lesson the hard way and we STILL didn't have the sense to snatch up the F-5!
pretty much this. Most anons who even use any form of the word American is about 90% likely to be Aussie. And I've never met anyone outside of here that ever complained about Gate politics seriously.
People have to realize that the gate we see now with the walls is a different portal from the gates preceding it.
The gate is usually just a portal by itself, the gate we have right now was stabilized and built upon by the empire's magicians. The portal can only be opened by gods, but humans can harness it.
>how about you stop being a faggot dick sucker?
>how she was kidnapped without the gate ?
Woah buddy, that's no way to ask questions around here. Now if you want to try again, I'm a fair man.
>This is actually straight up wrong, it specifically states that they went out of their way to make sure there'd be no civilian casualties
American has been trying to do this for the last 50 years and failed every single time. You really believe the SDF could successfully do it?
>It's dumb, but people want to see an arrogant pampered shit who rapes slaves get fucked up
Kinda, but I dislike seeing an illiterate dumb bimbo breaking the face of a political figure while pretending they're the benevolent Japanese Empire more.
ok so others portals have opened before. i get it.
but lets say the empire sent scouts beyond the gate and they kidnapped the girl months before the invasion.
no one found their clothes strange ?
did they not saw the sky towers ?
for me if i was a scout from middle age and saw fucking new world with concrete big towers and the many others machines..
fuck, the first thing i'd thought is that is a big fortress
why did they invade?
i would never go to the king and say ... hey lets invade.
this dont make sense for me
>This better not be Hardy's doing.
If RORY of all people is saying this, it is almost certainly proof that gods are CAPABLE of causing Earthquakes. However, her tone strongly suggest that it is not suppose to be done, and that other gods would be mad if somebody did it.
>Also why did bunny slave become Stockholm?
In case you can't wait until next week:
she's actually goading the prince into escalating the conflict with Japan. She wants the empire to be annihilated and figures he's the only person powerful enough and retarded enough to pull the empire into a state of total war with Japan. She's also managing agents who are trying to provoke the Japanese more directly and pin the blame on the empire.
I love and hate this show so much at the same time.
Mainly because it would make the best damn miniseries ever done with Game of Thrones production values.
Plus hugely smarter writing on the political end - some of that may be the subs though, my moon isn't anywhere near good enough to tell if it's any better untranslated.
But all the same the story arc is just outstanding.
At first I was thinking it would be great for them to add, "And just so you know, we're a *tiny* power compared to the rest on Earth"
But of course someone would likely jump on that to try to get one of these huge powers on their side against the Japs. So it would be a bad idea.
What even happens to her after they capture her? They kind of gloss(heh) over that in the manga. She's worried she'll be dismembered and sealed then nothing. Surprised she wasn't added to the harem some how.
Even captcha agrees with me apparently. it's select cars.
I see. I feel a little sorry for him, even though he deserves it. Right now he thinks he has his own bunny nee-san to nurse him, take care of him and have hot rabbit sex with him. Must feel comfy.
>against roman empire era mooks
Nope. It's because only the US can pull something like that without any consequence. Should Japan try to do something like this in real life, a coalition led by benevolent China would invade Tokyo right away in the name of human rights. Japan being this greedy and still facing no consequence is unrealistic.
The two princes are dumbasses and the Emeperor knows it. He just wants Pina to actually achieve something major so he could justify making her the actual next heir to the throne
>why did they invade?
This just proves your ignorance.
Ancient Empires HAVE to invade people. They have a need of a large army to keep the subjugated population contained, but it is not possible to keep the army that size, paid and fed through taxes alone. Thus that army needs to be sent on campaigns to gain new loot to pay the soldiers as well as keeping the troops busy.
The second the invasions end, the troops would start to get restless. And as soon as you suggest they should have a pay cut or disband, the troops revolt and become rebel armies.
They don't actually capture her. But they find her later.
If the rest of the world thinks it's the discovery of a new world full of backwards primitives they can afford to take a leisurely pace with it - after all, once the big dogs start scrapping over the thing, who knows where matters will end up? Much safer to leave it in the hands of harmless Nippon for the time being while they all learn everything they can.
Of course if the SDF finds something that can actually swing the balance of power in the real world, all bets would be off.
What do they do just give her a warning and say don't do it again? She was terrified of the JSDF. I mean I'm sure being an apostle they couldn't really do much about her but rory sure as hell didn't seem to like her.
Anon why is she in a maid uniform? Unless she happens to think it's cute I can't see a reason why an apostle would become a maid. Are you sure that's not one of the other dragon girls so far? And is that a tongue piercing or just awkward light bubble?
it makes me laugh that some faggots think that this manga is shit just because its all about "japan stronkk" bullshit when every single fucking american movie or video game is about "america so cool, america good guys!!", fuck off
>And I've never met anyone outside of here that ever complained about Gate politics seriously.
Nah, plenty of people complain about it.
>I’m sure there are bound to be groans when you mention the right wing agenda that exists in GATE. You may say: ” just let it go” or “let me enjoy it without bringing politics into it”, but when the creator so obviously puts across his ideologies and brings real life politics into the equation, what can you expect? You simply can’t ignore the author’s views, and you shouldn’t. Denying the link between the two is lying to yourself; I wish I could be more ignorant to it all, but I can’t.
>That being said, it’s probably a good thing that I’m the one writing this post and not some other bloggers, because although I’d class my political views are far-left and very different from what’s put across here, I wasn’t nearly as aggravated as I thought I would have been. I went into GATE prepared to be furious, but that never really happened. The closest to it was the general tone of the Itami’s questioning and Rory biting back – it felt very contrived and gave a taste of what could come. Thankfully, there weren’t many scenes like that, though I imagine if there were more, I might have felt exhausted with them. But as a whole I was never overtly offended with what I saw.
Not sure I even get what's so threatening about Gate's politics to people. It barely moves the needle from a right wing ideology perspective. Unless simply thinking that anyone in the military could possibly be anything other than a baby-raping murderer is "right wing". Or is it another nation telling a story that shows their own people in a positive light, and which includes their military? There's nearly zero Nippon /pol/iticks here that I can see.
How can you say no to this face?
What is the point of placing a modern military in a western style fantasy setting if they are not going to encounter high fantasy armies semi-equal to them in warfare due to the magic advatanage, and having them go at it?
Why not just have the modern military go through a time machine and fight normal roman legion soldiers?
Their magic alone is more than enough to be the reason. The author did downplay it to look like some sort of low-level performance, but the ability to completely heal a person without even touching them or necromancy to reanimate the dead isn't something any country could ignore. Those things could easily trigger a new technological revolution and the completely change the current balance of the world, no way they could let Japan monopolize them.
"Join the SDF for cute girls!"
>Why would there be rape in Gate?
Because there's a nubile blond elf lady there. Why wouldn't there be rape?
Oh, okay. So why are there blonde elves there?
Because Nippon stronk, to maintain that image, writer can't possibly let them fight any semi-competent army, let alone a high fantasy army. You see, famous mages in this world even struggle to cast a single fireball.
Like I have anything better to do
Last season the Japanese special forces wrecked Russian, Chinese, and USA special force operatives simultaneously. There was literally a scene where a US special force commander said something along the lines of "How are they so much better than us...". Notice how it's Japan exclusively controlling the GATE and launching a military campaign? That this is somehow a "good" thing? That every other Earth country portrayed (thus far) has been antagonistic towards Japan and the JSDF? There is one reason for Japan to exclusively control the Gate and that is imperialism. The show is literally promoting Japanese imperialism.
I love GATE, but it definitely has a strong propaganda/patriotic tilt.
>What mate? The author should've removed fantasy altogether than
He can't. Since he must keep it to bait otakus. You know, animal girls, elves, lolibaba and stuffs. Beside, the SDF needs to take down a DRAGON, one of strongest beings in Western folktales to show off their superiority.
Funny thing is if it was a real world situation they would be conquered simultaneously by everybody in a matter of hours and then the big players would have a war for the gate. The author is pretty delusional thinking anybody would sit around as they explored inside.
>Dragons, one of strongest beings in Western folktales
To be fair Anon in western folktales the strongest of beings in folktales Europe/America's (Before, Christianity showed up to wipe the floor with them) are deities/powerful spirits. Dragons are killed by a simple pleb or warrior with a sword or a lance in folktales semi-easy as pie.
It also depends on what Dragon you are telling with since in western folktale there is variations of them like the one in Nemean, to the one slayed by that Christian Saint.
So I told Kuribayashi to open fire in the Imperial Palace..She actually did it the absolute madwoman hahahahahahahahahaha!
Well at least he knew the recipe to sell it to the audience he wanted. The degenerate Japanophiles. Series is definitely clogged with the usual harem tropes that have been done a million times only difference is there are tanks in the background.
That depends heavily on what time period. Middle earth without any major war of the other realms going on would be easy. There'd be no threat other then the possibility of things not staying dead. If you can't actually harm the nazgul(which you can with mithril dunno about bullets) or saruon you could eaisly rape the entire thing. Now if you include the other realms, no. That's like saying the JSDF can't take the gate world if the gods actually don't want them there. They likely couldn't deal with a serious apostle.
That's mostly because the gods restrict learning in gate world. Once leilei actually learned some Science she easily becomes a force on her own. It comes heavily down to not knowing how things work with magic. once you do you can do many things.
>Once leilei actually learned some Science she easily becomes a force on her own.
And she's not allowed to teach others how to use any of that science influenced magic on pain of Hardy fucking her shit up
>Implying height matters when your flat on your back
>Un amroured and weaponless
>Weight dosent mean jack shit when your flat on your back allready
She's a military trained almost special ops beast of a woman who uses her bayonett more then her trigger.
He's an uppity prince who has never worked hard a day in his life and spends every seccond surrounded by guards.
you don't tell a soldier with a ladyboner for violence and expect her not to. He was making a point there.
She was told to make him talk. She did. Doesn't matter how much she enjoyed it.
She was following orders. That's not something you get in trouble for doing. If your CO tells you to do something you do it.
Well no. The point was that it shows magic is limited in gate world only because the gods actually restrict education. While leiei is a genius in being able to process all of that given a decade or so magic could very easily rival the JDSF if it was spread. The gods probably want to keep their sandbox from ever becoming a possible threat to themselves with good reason.
I guess I get the points about Japan Stronk, but the anime still seems like pretty weak sauce to me unless someone is really sensitive about this stuff.
On the other hand, I just read the posted manga chapters.
Okay, yeah. That's a bit more in your face.
Anon you do know that medieval princes knew how to fight and were good at sword and close combat considering they begun training at very young ages 7+, and had to fight in wars back then.
>She's a military trained almost special ops beast of a woman
Please tell me you don't actually think some 140 lb woman punching a 200+ lb man will do anything especially when it was shown that both have hand to hand combat experience it should have been a one sided slaughter but can't have cute females losing especially when they fight for Japan can we!
>She was following orders. That's not something you get in trouble for doing. If your CO tells you to do something you do it.
Anyway, punching an imperial prince of another country to the face isn't something to be laughed off. It makes no sense that no one faced no consequence.
>The gods probably want to keep their sandbox from ever becoming a possible threat to themselves with good reason.
If that's the restriction they place on them I wonder why they're find with the jsdf holding classes. I could have sworn I saw multiple classes set up in a couple of the alnus flashback panels. You'd think rory would tell them that's a nono.
Anon the way that fight played out he was being dumb gave her a telegraphed punch which she dodged and gave a straight uppercut to the jin. I don't care who you are that shuts you down for a couple of secs. She then continues to beat him while he can't fight back, much more brutally in the manga. For a spoiled brat who's likely never felt pain before to know be feeling a lot of it all of a sudden would likely cower too.
TLDR the way the anime did it is plausible. first hit incapacitated him because he gave her a free shot. Giving free shots to people no matter how eaisly you think you win can be fucking horrible. Ball shots, eye shots, etc.
I recently got back into /a/ after a 2 year break and holy crap all these things I missed. GATE got an anime, a new UBW anime, a HF anime coming out, more JoJo seasons.
Yet its all still the same. You haven't changed at all /a/.
You can knock out anyone with 1 punch. its where and how its delivered. anyone trained to do it (exactly like military people are) can do it
Knowing how to fight and having current day training regiments and knowledge are different things anon. Take one look at how far professional fighting has come in the past 10 years alone compared to 500+
Notromans just saw beyond the shadow of a doubt they could not touch them. They have no chance to do anything in retaliation. They also just got tasked with finding the other captives. The from thee JSDF side likely. It would be Itami and not kuri who got in trouble though. Itami got to many positives out of that little exchange though so he still comes out positive.
>And we don't know if it's really Hardy's fault or something happens naturally.
Did you miss a chapter? Because there was nothing natural about a magically infused corpse being buried under a tree.
>TLDR the way the anime did it is plausible
that's the joke though it wasn't plausible just because a prince is an arrogant douchebag doesn't mean they are not well trained and it was played out exactly how some idiot who writes manga would play it out in order to get the weeaboos hot and bothered. It was a garbage fight.
was hardly a fight really. Zor comes out cocky and probably drunk telegraph punchs her and aint moving for 30-40 seconds. That;s just biology. All the other pain accumulated makes pretty boy a whiny bitch. Nothing wrong the way that fight went. Kicking him in the balls would have likely been more effective though. Chin is total shutdown balls are just pain
I didn't like the plotskip but I still enjoyed the minotaur arc. It felt like a sidequest and a different change of pace. The adventure itself and fight with the minotaur was fine but I think my problem with it was that for a potential zombie apocalypse situation, the problem of the zombie plague wasn't played up more and felt inconsequential. The scenario and mood didn't feel threatening at all. Even in stuff like HSOTD, the threat of the zombies and being overrun was present. Sure, it's contained in one area but they were in the center of it yet it didn't feel like there was a desperate struggle for survival. They saved Rory, accidentally found the cause and burned it. That was it.
