Am I right or wrong in assuming that everyone's favorite Dragon Ball Z character is either Piccolo or Vegeta?
Nah mine is between Goku,Beerus and Jaco.
>Doesn't even understand his favorite character
The only faggot here is you.
I get he doesn't really like to fight, but the Cell Saga sort of built things up to seem like despite that fact, Gohan was Goku's successor.
Gohan's always said he'd rather not fight if there were other options, but he's also always been really protective of his friends. You'd think that after constantly facing one super strong threat after another that he'd at least train a little bit to make sure he was strong enough to protect people. It's like after the Cell Saga he just said fuck it, until that whole Ultimate Gohan bullshit.
Think about why he wanted to become a super saiyan in the first place? He didn't like to fight, but he wanted to get as strong as possible to make sure everyone was safe. He trained his ASS off to make sure of that. Then, when Cell was destroyed, he completely slacked off while at least Vegeta had the sense to keep training because he knew there were probably stronger foes out there.
Once upon a time yes (include trunks in there), but after BOG i notice Beerus become a spanner in those works. Most peoples top 5 is probably vegeta piccolo trunks beerus and probably cell, out of the origibal villains people seem to like cell the most.
>but the Cell Saga sort of built things up to seem like despite that fact, Gohan was Goku's successor.
Yeah no, unless you thought DB was going to be a slice of life manga.
Gohan doesn't hate fighting, in the manga the sole reason he trained in the first place was because he wanted, after the fight with the saiyans no one forced him to do shit. The thing with Gohan is that he doesn't understand Goku's autistic love for fighting, Gohan doesn't look for strongh opponents because all the time that means they want to destroy the Earth.
Seriously this isn't that hard to understand.
Eh, protagonists who don't enjoy fighting but realize that it's necessary, in battle oriented series, do exist. Gohan could have been one of those even if that wasn't the route Toriyama took.
I guess it's because he'd need to keep Dragonball as serious as it was in the Cell Saga in order to make that work, but he clearly didn't want to do that with Buu or the new stories.
My favorite is Bardock because he is a brilliant scientist!
How the fuck did they manage to translate him to be a brilliant scientist?
Piccolo is cool, but 18 is hot as hell.
Vegeta is prince of all jobbers. I am surprised anyone likes him after Cell Saga, that saga was Toriyama just continuously pooping on Vegeta.
In the end of the manga Gohan supposed understand his errors for not training because he couldn't protected his love ones from manji Buu, you know the whole scenary in Super but with less melodrama.
>Gohan supposed understand his errors for not training because he couldn't protected his love ones from manji Buu
He should have understood that, but there isn't a single pannel showing that, so it's just your assumption.
back in the day it wasn't so wrong to favor gohan.
As a kid he was relatable and we all wanted that hidden anger power.
As a teen he was the definition of BAWS.
A drop off as an adult, but still a fan base as you either Loved or Hated GSM.
And Then Buu saga he manages to ascend once again once he gets Mystic Potential Unlock.
It wasnt really until GT he was hurt due to lack of relevance, and then BotG/ RoF/ DBS just made him a joke
>Vegeta is prince of all jobbers. I am surprised anyone likes him after Cell Saga
Up to degree I like and sympathize with him. I mean he works and tries so hard to overcome Goku and all potential threads but always fails or comes just short of surpassing them. Then Goku comes in with some new skill or OP as fuck and gets the kill and/or glory without working for it. This is relatable and even for sake of variety I wish Vegeta would get the kill or save the day just once but I know that is never going to happen.
>since when being a scholar and train can't get in the mix.
We saw how the manga ends. We've seen the future for Gohan: He becomes a world respected researcher and scientist with a solid career.
How do people think he somehow made it to such high places in that 10 year gap? Fighting the forces of evil? No. It doesn't make any sense. He's not 11 anymore, he can't be both ''smart and strong'' if he's going to end up becoming one of the world's greatest scholars. It doesn't work. It takes 6 years to get a PhD, and that's only after 2 years on top of that for University.
If this is about accurately following the manga, it wouldn't make sense if Gohan were to take all his time off for shit that Vegeta, Buu, Piccolo, 18, Krillin and Goku could handle easily.
Seriously, It's Goku's fucking story. Get over it Gohanfags.
>Posting an one piss pic.
Here is your reply.
If you read the manga or watched the anime Gohan promised Goku to train after that. I said supposed because Toriyama forgot about it in the BoG, RoF and series. And before anyone said it was impossible because in the epilogue Gohan is a scholar, since when being a scholar and train can't get in the mix.
you would be wrong.
my fav is cell/goku ssj3 fuck the haters.
Saiyans are alright, but I personally love bubblegum monsters.
I like him better he works way harder than Goku.
Why do people like Broly again? Sure his power may be maximum but he literally doesn't do anything but yell Kakaroooot!!!1! over and over again.
Seriously what is it about Broly people like?
Is it just because his power is maximum?
Is it because of his interesting personality that is to yell Kakarot!!! over and over again?
Maybe he has deep and interesting background? Oh wait, the baby next to him cried which apparently was enough to make him a retard that can only say one word over and over again as an adult.
That said I don't hate Broly and think he could have been good interesting character if there was more depth to him but as he is now all I see is wasted potential.
My favorite is Gohan too.
And he did become sort of fucking awful post Cell. It was alright in Buu. But, then, everything after that, especially everything in Super, started compounding on the already present issues and made him a jobber. It's disgusting. No amount of "understanding his character" is going to make it stop being disgusting and offensive.
People like Broly because he's an interesting character. I blame the writers for focusing too much on Goten and Trunks in movie 10 and 11 instead of having Gohan and Vegeta take care of him.
I always really liked Vegeta, just because he's constantly being shit on and still trains his ass off to be the best. Nothing will ever stop him.
When he was fighting Buu knowing that if he died that would be the end, and he's just getting his shit pushed in the entire time, I gained even more respect for him.
I want to see him become the strongest, even just for a little while, and finally get a kill and some glory
I actually like em all for their own reasons.
Goku for his hilarious personality, Gohan for his character development, Vegeta for his character arc in the Majin Buu saga, Piccolo because he was the least useless side character of all of them, fighting Frieza and the Androids as well as Cell. Hell, even Chi Chi had some character development where she decided to start training Goten at a young age when Gohan was going to school.
1. Gohan (Z)
2. Future Trunks
3. Future Trunks
What's Gohan's appeal with you people anyway? He really doesn't have much personality besides the ''Nerd who's forced to fight'' role he fills, and you can't self insert with him because his backstory and life is made so clear.
Because it's a stupid meme taken out of context.
To jump off of this, why would Frieza risk using a ''normal laser'' to take down Goku? Doesn't the way in which Frieza refers to it as his ''contingency plan''. and the way it's kept inside a tiny golden ring say anything to anyone? I really don't think it was a normal laser.
They wished everyone but the really evil ones back at the end of DBZ so where the fuck is android 16? We saw that androids 8 and 17 was brough back to life and compared to android 16 he was a bad guy. Also shouldn't wishing eveyone killed by Frieza and his men have brough Nappa back as well?
Why haven't Oolong and that flying cat thing used their shapeshifting technique since Dragon Ball?
Has Yamcha moved to "I forgot" island to accompany Lunch after the battle of gods arch? I mean for fucks sake they brough MASTER ROSHI to fight Frieza's henchmen instead of him, Android 18 or Fat Buu?
>If you read the manga or watched the anime Gohan promised Goku to train after that.
I haven't watched the anime episodes, but Gohan never promised Goku that he'd train in the future. Nothing is said about that.
It's a reasonable development that should have happened, but it never actually did happen on screen, at least not in the manga.
>He becomes a world respected researcher and scientist with a solid career.
Nothing is said about that though. He becomes a scholar, but nothing indicates that he's particularly famous or achieved anything great.
I always liked Future Trunks the best
I think it's because he DOESN"T have a deep and interesting background. He also isn't a typical Saiyan.
Broly doesn't like fighting.
Broly likes killing.
Also no-selling is the manly equivalent of T&A.
Super never happened for me, who gives a fuck?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Goku and Vegita having to resort to fusion against someone at the universe tournament thing or in it's aftermatch. At least I'm hoping this will be the case.
Absolutely not. DBS takes place during the ten year time gap before the last Tenkaichi tournament at the end of the manga. We've seen the end, and Vegeta and Goku are separate characters.
Plus, Vegeta will never fuse again unless it's 100% necessary.
Super is probably gonna take about 100 episodes (I'd be surprised if it doesn't), so it's going to happen further down the road. But since we /multiverse/ now, it's only Toriyama fantasy's matter what the final threat will be.
But I could see Vegetto as the ultimate Sayian beyond anything else, or Goku and Vegita finally fucking off for gods' realm to be future mentors of Destruction Gods.
Is there a DBZ character that no fucking one likes?
shit tier villains like babidi/pilaf
>pic not related
>everyone's favorite Dragon Ball Z character is either Piccolo
That is right, and for a good reason
>He was one of Goku's biggest villain and rival
>Piccolo always found a way to catch up to Goku power level, and match him
>Even went as far as getting as strong as Goku in Super Syain level
>The Buu Saga, GT, and now with Dragonball Super. Piccolo has become irrelevant, nothing more then a background character
>New Freeza killed him in one shot with no problem
I understand Goku is the main hero of the show, but I miss the days when everyone else were close to Goku power.
Now they're all pussies that hide behind Goku and Vegeta for help.
Even Gohan, who can't even stay in Super Sayin form anymore because he has gotten soft.
So how are they going to make Piccolo strong enough to fight in the tournament?
Obviously we taking him to train with Whis I'm sure he'll quickly be on par with Goku and Vegeta in few days even if they got to spend ages training with him. Actually the god ki training chamber is a thing.
Do we have any powerful namekians left for that? I doubt fusing with Dende would accomplish anything.
Frieza prior to that had never trained a day in his life. He was SSJ1-tier without training so its not too much of a stretch that he'd be SSJ Blue level with a few months of training.
In any case, that golden form is the limit of his power I think I read.
>Not even putting in the right order.
This triggers me
SSJ2 and SSJ3 are obsolete now. Just power drains, especially SSJ3.
Goku and Vegeta are now "Saiyan Beyond God". This means that they are God-level (think red Goku in BOG) in their base-forms. SSJ Blue / Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is going SSJ on top of that.
>Implying Whis needs his sister's help to kick Vegito's ass a million times before he can even say "I'm am Vegi---"
>SSJ Blue / Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is going SSJ on top of that.
He could have gone SSJ3 on top of that and slapped frieza's shit instantly. He wouldn't have to worry about any power drain because it would be over so quick. He could also try and get used to the form like he did with SSJ1 to minimize the strain on his body as much as possible.
Vegeta LOWERED his power level, which means he was a lower level than his usual relaxed state. Goku was in his standard power level. We all know it was foreshadowed since the beginning of the movie. I don't think it's an asspull I think it's fucking stupid like the rest of the movie. (I love BoG btw).
Make him learn and master the Kaio-Ken attack? He would be a perfect candidate to use it as his regenerative abilities would negate it's shortcomings so he could just go Kaio-Ken over 9000 and beat shit up.
On more serious note why doesn't anyone use Kaio-Ken anymore? I get that Super Saiyan is stronger but why don't non-Saiyans use it?
Those 3 forms aren't powerups, they're shackles.
4th form should technically be called 1st, because he actually looks like. Each preceding form is a weight to tie his power down.
This is on the same level as Kubofags defending Bleach writing. You might have a valid point, but it just illustrates how garbage the series is. All it had going for it was some nice anime choreography and even that was just made like the characters were arcade fighters being button mashed.
Which is ironic considering they even paid homage to Jackie Chan, someone who truly understood action choreography.
>watching dragonpiss over superior Gundamu as a kid
>Why do people like Broly again?
Broly's appeal lies in his simplicity, he is a pure destruction given form.
He has no seen upper limit, an the characters react to him with pure fear and awe.
He's allot like pic related
How is piccolo supposed to compete in the universe 6arc? Time chamber?
Liked Goku because he was the main character. Switched to Gohan because same age. Went through the edgy phase and liked Future Trunks, Piccolo, and Vegeta. Then went back to liking Goku.
I liked Broly for the reason that there isn't much known about him and that he opens up a lot of possibilities with what we know about the saiyans - that the forms are not so linear.
>Maybe he has deep and interesting background? Oh wait, the baby next to him cried which apparently was enough to make him a retard that can only say one word over and over again as an adult.
We don't know if that's the exact reason he hates Goku - in a brief shot they showed their contrasting auras.
It could be that with this and Broly's more volatile nature, he is compelled to handle these urges in the only way he knows how.
I suppose the less that is said the better.
I'm personally a big fan of Android 18.
As in the actual ANDROID, not whatever the dragon balls made her. She died that day.
Because there are too many characters with black hair, and she became top tier in the end of the manga. And remember that Toriyama designed her for GT, so she and Mai are going to grow blue eyes when they hit puberty.
