Tournament arcs are the literal GOAT arcs in most shonens. World Martial Arts Tournament arcs were GOAT. Heaven's Tower was GOAT. Dark Tournament was the GOATEST of GOAT shonen arcs.

The best tournament arcs are the ones with shit at stake and upsets/oh shit moments where main cast lads get eliminated when you were certain they'd win. When it comes to shonen's nothing beats previously strong lads jobbing to the new character and that shit happens all the time in tournament arcs.
