Let's have a swordgirl thread.
Who's your favorite swordgirl? What do you like about them? Their looks? Their personality? Their ability to wield a deadly weapon? Pic related
European swords or katanas?
Ran-dono is Love, Ran-dono is Life, and is Love of Booze personified.
Katanas, if only because Japs never Depict proper Sabres and Cavalry Swords.
Just getting the obvious one out of the way.
Shiki desu, because she is waifu material who gradually learns to accept herself and the love of her husbando. And she is understated yet graceful.
Normally I prefer European swords, but obviously the katana suits her.
My waifu of course.
I like her adorable tsun attitude coupled with her tenacity.
Her looks and while her element(fire) is a fairly boring one it is still nice.
Swordgirl sounds like an euphemism for futa tbqh senpai.
"European" swords, and by that I mean long swords, are objectively better weapons than katanas. Having a pommel and a large cross guard are important.
However, I feel Katanas look better. But that's just me.
Mai Natsume. I like the fact that she's a very kind and helpful as well as being skilled, quick-thinking and with great inner strength. And I like the fact that she only resorts to violence when necessary to defend herself or those around her, though this isn't due to weakness since she fights with considerable skill and valor.
I'm fine with any type of sword provided they're not too unrealistic.
I like my girls serious, highly competent, and soft under the crust.
But are they as cute?
Didn't we just have one that died? Not that I mind.
Euro swords are objectively better, but I still like katana more.
European swords are indeed better, but we're talking about the girls using them.
Don't really give a fuck about the sword itself honestly.
Short = gay.
Unfortunately none that I know of other than Bamboo Blade and Kurogane. Some shounen battle manga might have some stuff about kendo/swordplay. Vagabond has some cool ronin/samurai action though so I would suggest checking it out. No specific kendo sports anime/manga though
I have a few questions regarding KnK.
Is there a better supernatural series than this? I gobbled all the movies and, despite 7's ending being too heavy on the romance aspect and 8 being a total character retconning, I genuinely enjoyed all of the rest from beginning to end.
What is the relation between KnK and the other works of Kinoko Nasu like F/S N or Tsukihime?
I haven't seen Mirai Fukuin yet.
>tomboys that are into swordplay/kendo though
that's not a proper sword girl then. the part where they blame the protagonist for making her weaker and demand that he takes responsibility is critical to the appeal.
this to be honest. I like it when a swordgirl is the MC's battle partner and they grow to trust and believe in each other, eventually blossoming into love. That or when she acknowledges his strength and works to be as strong as him
I agree, but havinng said girl be a tsundere sort of saps the enjoyment out of me.
>literally THREE different battle harem last season with main girls using swords
>all three are shitty generic tsuns with ugly hairstyles
If you are talking about Anti magic, Rakudai, and Asterisk, only Rakudai and Asterisk had female romantic intrests with swords. And while you're right for asterisk, Stella abandons the whole tsundere thing and goes full dere once she dates Ikki
Falling in love doesn't mean that they have to undergo a personality change. And what if they are the main character?
KnK is set in a different universe compared to all the other Type Moon stories. There are some references to characters from KnK in Fate and Tsukihime, but these are alternate universe versions of them.
Wait, you mean there's another user of the eyes in the other series? If it's F/S N, is it worth going through the horrendous amount of infodumping the VN smothers you with right from the beginning?
I was talking about the epilogue.
No matter what, OL or IRL, she's still the queen of swords.
Tsukihime is about Tohno Shiki, who also has the eyes. I can't explain how knk characters fit in with fsn without spoiling it, but whether or not it's an alternate universe is frankly irrelevant. Word of god is that Knk is seperate, but that's his explanation for everything.
No. Their rage only makes me stronger!
I liked it more than Fate/Stay Night and the rest of Fateshit (which reduces a lot of the worldbuilding to powerlevels). It's an intresting read but it still contains Nasu's trademark shitty writing and dumb sex scene descriptions. But it comes with the territory
>likes worst girl in oreimo
Jesus it's 3 types of cancer rolled into 1
>Draw a boy
>Call it a girl
>Change your mind
>Try to have it both ways
