Anime as an industry has become shit largely because of moe. Producers realized that they can make the most money pandering to otakus with cliche story lines, character formulas, and fan service. This seemed to really pick up in 2010 and kicked into overdrive the past couple years.

But now, the upsurge in this, pre-existing financial problems for many studios, and the industry never really bouncing back after Fukushima, has fucked the whole industry. Writers no longer try anymore. There is no competition or drive to produce original shows. Studios know the money is in moe, so it's what they fund. It's just all become bottom of the barrel moe and harem trash.

So yeah, enjoy the shit puddle you helped create, moefags.
