How do we fix Moe anime? Currently they are boring, short, and nothing of note ever happens. Nobody loses and nobody wins.

Well you should purchase instead of pirating like a little piece of entitled useless shit, that way the studios would profit more and they would be more willing to make risky investments such as longer animes or animes that don't follow the recipe.
But she's was the last one left. The club leader by default, the lone survivor.
The thing with moe is that nothing feels significant because the amount of risk taken is very minimal. Even if the main characters lose, nothing of importance will be lost. This is the complete opposite in science fiction or space. If you lose there, the entire universe will blow up!
That's up for debate. Take NNB for example, in some episodes the stakes were emotionally high even in comedic form.
Sure, it's not like Komari and Hotaru would get anything worse than a cold for being lost at night, but you felt that they believably freaked out.
If I am living in a small village where nothing much is ever happening, I’m not going to open my PC or my TV in order to watch cute girls doing nothing in a high school setting
Anime as an industry has become shit largely because of moe. Producers realized that they can make the most money pandering to otakus with cliche story lines, character formulas, and fan service. This seemed to really pick up in 2010 and kicked into overdrive the past couple years.
But now, the upsurge in this, pre-existing financial problems for many studios, and the industry never really bouncing back after Fukushima, has fucked the whole industry. Writers no longer try anymore. There is no competition or drive to produce original shows. Studios know the money is in moe, so it's what they fund. It's just all become bottom of the barrel moe and harem trash.
So yeah, enjoy the shit puddle you helped create, moefags.
You're right, the number of quality shows in the industry hasn't declined at all...
Ok, let's expand this list then. Make the list for 2015 and we'll see how it compares to the ones in this image as far as original storie and plot lines, animation, unique characters, soundtracks, etc. goes
Deeper characters and character relationships
None of what has come out recently has characters with depth or any interesting interactions.
This can only be stressed so many times, cute girls does not make a good moe show
