Unsourced anons claim there are only going to be 10 episodes, so likely only 3, as 5 episodes for a single volume is far too much.
Honestly, the anime probably would have only covered about that much even if there are 12/13 episodes.
DEEN might even go for an original ending, since Gifting's relative lack of an overarching goal makes that a lot more possible.

The volume where the true best girl appeared! I mean, as much as I love Megumin I just can’t help but loving little sister-type of characters. Kazuma started this volume saying he wanted a little sister and he got one. A very good one.

Instead of being a Darkness volume this time we had the focus on the Princess Airis and Kazuma. Yeah, he got some kind of development after all this time. At first they had a very bad relationship but as time passed they turned into a “real” brother-sister pair. That’s one type of development I’m pretty weak too.

This volume also had some, actually not so much, depressing? moments. Kazuma was pretty much useless during most of the volume as an adventurer and he didn’t manage to do much for Airis. Until he discovered from Chris that Airis was in real danger. That’s when for the first time in the series Kazuma actually does something troublesome and even fights head on against powerful “enemies” by his own choice. Remember the hero Mitsurugi from the first volume? He is strong but Kazuma managed to defeat him in a fair and square fight because he had to save Airis. Well, he was powered-up by using a Vanir’s mask but that doesn’t change the fact that he managed to defeat a powerful adventurer even being a low-level worst class adventurer. Certainly the only one moment I thought that Kazuma was actually cool.

In the end he ended up proposing twice to the Princess (not that he knows about it). One time because he stole the most precious thing for her (a ring that only goes to the one who marries the Princess) and because he promised he would defeat the Demon King. The “hero” who defeats the Demon King is also going to marry the Princess so yeah, Kazuma, you were a true hero here.
